Weird they are in the sent box. I just resent them. I had sent Cody a message too
& I guess he didn't get his either so I just resent that one too.

Cheers

Nice! Just seems a bit top heavy. Stretching things can give a tiny waist, long legs but other things just seem to be accentuated.

Few tips for sizing, make a new document which is your avatar size and have the picture what you want to make an avatar as another document.
Drag your picture to that avatar ducument using move tool + shift .. to size have your picture layer active .. edit -> free transform -> you find in the top a new toolbar where you can edit the size, i suggest to use H( hight) and W(width) percentage. To find unstretched size both needs to have same percentage in hight and width.

Thank you Dollukka. I have used the free transformation but not with
a separate document nor with the percentage value. I will try that as soon
as I get a chance for a comparison so I can see the difference between the two.

Hope your father is doing better.

I wish I could have put them side by side...top one is the original one
I posted last night & as you can see it is a little larger (width was 220).
That one was only resized in Paint all work on Photoshop.

The bottom one is the new resized edition.
resized on Photoshop. Look how much my colors changed...they are
much more vibrant in the 1st picture. Did the way I sized change the
color that much? Also she doesn't really look any different in size...?

With Paint I just put the size in pixels...220x435...
Photoshop I made a white document 200x435 & used the "move tool"
& "CTRL- T" to size inside the document. Thanks for any help I am always
grateful!

Cheers
Ektar

Weird when I go back & look at the newest one in Photoshop & on Paint neither appear
dull like it does here...the colors are darker like the original...?

I just wanted to showcase a piece of artwork a personal friend of mine did for me to turn into an avatar.

I have a thing for butterflies and bees. She incorporated that with an image of a woman she felt represented me best. She titled the work 'Girl insider her own mind'.

I'm not sure how to take that! lol. I've always been told I live in my own world, a beautiful world, but one that could never exist in reality. So it's rather fitting.

ETA - Duh. I wanted to ask if any of you could do a better job in creating it into an avatar. I keep trying and I'm just not happy with it. I don't if it is because I'm too close to the project, the creator or what. But I'm just not happy with my avatar making skills with this particular piece.

im digging it.

If you are using photoshop, try:

Filter>Render>lighting effects

You can use any of the three (omni, spotlight, directional) to get some downlighting. Like he is standing under a streetlamp. Itll blend the foreground and background a bit, and create some image texture.

It is a cool image. I identify with the desperado, myself.

It's the little missus working on it, using the arcane magic of Photoshop and some kind of incantations and potions to git 'er done. She said she'll try the suggestions, but for now she's tired. I'm not quite sure how she did it, and I was watching. PS is a dark art to me.

She started with the Curmudgeon avatar as a base - the original one, which I found out in the hinterlands of the internet, then somehow managed to find an image of the exact duster I wear, then added the hat (Cullen Bohannon's hat from "Hell on Wheels"), and somehow I was transformed. I just made the offhand comment that I'd like to get rid of the Curmudgeon's futuristic vest, her cogs started turning, and that's what got churned out, so far.

very, very well blended.

I put that type of hat on a few of mine from time to time, too. Gotta stay true to my West Texas redneck roots.

Hello CircqueDeTruth,

I love those colors!
What a great color combination for spring.
I think your avatar looks perfect the way it is. Your friend is a very talented artist.
