Iceland's Met Office (IMO) confirmed the 2 new eruptive fissures that opened earlier today south of the previous eruption site in Holuhraun, in a graben, that had formed above the intrusion, about 2km away from Dyngjujökull.
"- The eruptive fire fountains from the new fissures are substantially smaller than in the older fissure. Steam and gas rises in a south eastern direction from the fissure.

There is no evidence that the eruption of lava pocket is receding. Gufustrókar from the eruption has reached 15 thousand feet, but much brennisteinstvíildi measure around the eruption site. About 170 earthquakes have measures from midnight until eight o'clock in the evening, the biggest ones 4.4 and 5.3.

Police in North Eastern Iceland today arrested driver and passengers of several jeeps, seen entering the restricted zone near the Holuhraun eruption. The area has been completely closed off, due to fear of an impending subglacial eruption and flood. The uninvited guests can expect heavy fines.

LOL Oh well people are stupid but predictable. With luck they can prevent any "Hey Bubba watch this" kind of deaths.

yeah well, people are stupid and predictable. But what's more stupid is that people shouldn't tell you what to do or not, especially the police. Personally i would rather have my last breath in such an environment and get swallowed by nature than lying in a hospital bed surrounded by 4 walls. But that's just one man's opinion.

I watched this about 30 times and it still amazes me each time. Thank you for sharing this!

The activity beneath Bardarbunga seems to intensify a bit, the last quakes (although not that powerful) are not very deep.
The m2.6 was at a depth of 1.1km.

Yes, you could be right, an M2.1 15 minutes ago at the same spot, but looks quite a lot smaller on the drumplot.

I'm watching, and seeing it too. Have been watching since it started. I have no idea what it is, could be lava, has that color. It looks high up too, from the others there. Such a strange shape.

What am I seeing blinking like a turn signal?
