It's strange that there are fewer one-hit wonders nowadays than before. If you have a hit today, you have to be certain that you'll have at least few
other hits later. It seems that TPTB are supporting some bands and singers while the outsiders don't even have a chance at having a single hit and
their 15 minutes of fame like it was common in the 80's. I don't see people like Toni Basil having hits today. That DIY feel those one-hit wonders had
in the 80's and 90's is long gone. Now stars are manufactured from the beginning.
