Approached for a TV documentary from ATS post I made...

An experience I would like to share here on ATS...

In the night sky a few months ago my girlfriend and I saw a light phenomena in the sky that we could not explain. It is one of many strange occurrences we have seen in the remote area in which we live.

Well over the weekend a neighbour who lives a mile or so down the road came and knocked my door asking if I was Purplemer... He said that someone had sent him a email and was trying to track me down. Evidently they had worked out my rough location from information given in threads and emailed someone in the area to find me. This would not work in most areas but because there are so few people where I live people know who people are over a large area.

Well he forwarded the email onto me and its from a television production company. They company is making a programme for the Discovery programme on unexplained events in the Western Isle. Today I phoned and spoke to them and they want to come up in the spring to interview me for their programme.

Really I am surprised at the effort these peeps have gone to track me down. I told them I would be happy to share some events with them as long as they kept the exact location of some of these events off record. I like the mystery off life and think some things are special.

What we say and do on ATS has wider implications in the non digital world. As a community we have a sway on events and perceptions in the wider community. What we post and say sometimes really matters..

So I am looking forwards to the spring I will be taken out by boat to the Flannin Isles by the crew as a Thank you for helping with the documentary..

That is both scary, and exciting. Scary that they were able to find you, from here. But exciting that your going to do it.
I hope you will keep us informed in regards to when it will air and what it will be called.

That's exceptionally interesting. You might pass on the information to Springer and/or management here. They'd be interested for sure. Make sure they see this thread or something ....

Dude this is obviously the Men in Black coming to give you a stern warning to keep your mouth shut!!!

Unfortunately due to Austerity measures and budget cuts they have been reduced to basically using the bush telegraph.

You know things are bad when black ops Agencies dont have the budget to track dissenters down

Couple of questions if you will. I'm not knocking you one bit, but this has me scratching my head.

I'm really curious why someone just didn't make an account here and sent you a PM or a response requesting a way to contact you. Instead they contacted someone near you via email.

Next question would be, how would they have been able to contact some random person near you via email?

How would this person know to ask you? Even if the population of the area was so sparse, the movie guys would have had to have some idea to contact the other random guy via email.

Sounds really shady, why wouldn't they just contact you on ats? Don't you think it would have saved them a lot of time scouring your previous posts, and emailing random people in the area, by just sending you a u2u?

So someone from the Discovery program is monitoring the site. I am sure a lot of places are. It is quicker to look what is happening on ATS than to look all around yourself.

You know they are not from the government, the government would have been knocking on your neighbors door with a swat team.....the neighbor would be in jail...wrong address again.

Hello there an account was made on ATS to try and contact me. They where unable to contact me via PM because new posters cannot use the PM service until they have a certain amount of posts.

The person they contacted had a guest house in the area. The email address would be available online. People know each other and my neighbour that got the email some how worked out it might be me and came and asked..

Yes it not from the government. The government can easily suss out who I am if they so wished. They would not use such round about methods. The company is legit I checked it..

get a guy to run around in a "grey" suit in the background perhaps with a Sasquatch and some guy in a Beezer outifit line dancing till "bubba" tries to shoot him for the pot...queue much bugs/elmer fudd hilarity in the background

It just seemed a little strange. I don't subscribe to the men in black or government forces. If so, I'm quite sure they would have known where you lived as well as the time you got up each day and what you had for breakfast, not to mention... your favorite TV show.

I think the programme is about the Flannan isles lighthouse disappearance and linking it to other strange occurrences in the area. These islands are due west of me and maybe about 15 miles out. I have seen other strange things including light orbs a few metres infront of me. The place is magical and deep in history.

For those that do not know abut the Flannan isles lighthouse disappearances:

In December 1900 three lighthouse-keepers, Thomas Marshall, James Ducat and Donald McArthur, on the lonely outcrop of the Flannan Isles, approx 20 miles from the Outer Hebrides, western Scotland, disappeared without trace. No solution to their disappearance has ever been found, and for over a 100 years now this case has been of endless fascination to those of us who love unsolved mysteries.

In partial argement.. They would have a hard time finding my favourite tv programme since I do not have TV..

Maybe I will ask Beezer if he would like to come over for the shoot. He can be bouncing around on the Moors in the background..

I for one think the majority of Discovery Channel docs on Aleins and the supernatural are puff pieces at best so would tell them to go and chase themselves.
