Nice tune.
They have a sound reminicent of The Smith's.
Always liked them.
Next up I will post a video from the singer whose portrayal after her death brought the world Jennifer Lopez.
Yes, I realize she was a "Fly Girl" first on In Living Color but the role of Selena, the mexicana who was murdered by an obsessed housekeeper
and assistant of hers.
I wonder what fate would have held in store for her had her career and life not been cut short...
After all these submissions...you'd think we'd be scraping the bottom of the barrel...but no.
The next tune comes from the OST to a underground movie called Ghost World. It was originally based on an independant comic book series (a
good one many think) that failed to capture the feel of what the comics creator originally envisioned. It still had a few decent (and sometimes
unusual) songs on it's soundtrack.
Skip James was one of them...
I'd rather be the devil, to be that woman man
I'd rather be the devil, to be that woman man
Aw, nothin' but the devil, changed my baby's mind
Was nothin' but the devil, changed my baby's mind
I laid down last night, laid down last night
I laid down last night, tried to take my rest
My mind got to ramblin', like a wild geese
From the west, from the west
The woman I love, woman that I loved
Woman I loved, took her from my best friend
But he got lucky, stoled her back again
But he got lucky, stoled her back again
I was wondering where you'd been skulking.
I'm sure I don't have to mention which tune this post reminds me of...but I'll give you a hint.
The band's name sounds like "Urge Overkill"...
One more for the road...
I think the director shoulda been flogged for his hide the heavy one in the background approach. Don't you just love (re: loathe) pop music
saying "if you're overweight your just scenery"?
What that must have done to her self-esteem.
No more D-bag directors.
How about a video that doesn't exploit the female band members?
In this case a piece from a musical score to a favorite movie of mine...The Crow.
This was the movie score that put Graeme Revell on the map for me.
With vengence complete, Eric Draven returns to the grave of his lost love to be reunited with her.
I found it to be a very touching scene.
It has no lyrics and doesn't need any.
The first half of the tune posted is actually called Rain Forever.
The part I refer to is actually the last half of the song.
It can still bring a tear to my eye.
