Our entertainers, the ones that make it big, ie big O, do so by certain contractual agreements. Rising up out of the ashes to become a multi billionaire just doesn't happen the way propaganda fairy tales would like us to believe. If you don't play ball you don't get in/that simple. Once in when it's required you support a candidate, mandate etc, you get your instructions. You sell your integrity for baubles (big baubles but none the less). Oprah is a shill period. The poster that said they must be getting desperate to play the race card is imho spot on.

And lets not forget that part of the agenda is to start race wars/a very popular tool to divide and conquer. Some posters suggesting racism are either not seeing the forest for the trees or perhaps having an agenda in making those kinds of posts. After all there is a troll industry for pete's sake.

The political scene is a scripted theater to keep people involved in debating each other which impairs taking action or even seeing the depth of the screwing and forgoing focusing on expansion of consciousness which is the real threat to the fear matrix that keeps people embroiled in hatred and confrontation. Their matrix feeds and thrives on fear, murder, mayhem and all the other negs.

I loved the list by searching411 and the comment later, can you mail that to her

Now you've got Clinton says bama should honor the commitment to letting people keep their policies. Oh sure, like he gives a flying. Just setting the stage for Hillary's run. Maybe eventually people will get it that the power groups (that have their own infighting) could care a wit and that by doing some of us in actually is considered bonus points for their religion which is not from the mainstream ones that most frequently come to mind.

The problem is that people will believe her because the die hard oprah fans think that every word that comes out her mouth is gospel.

Hell, she'd canonize herself is she was able.

I said he was a "progressive" not a liberal. He is totally opposite of a true liberal. True liberals leave people alone and don't push a nanny state agenda.

As far as debt, well...

The $11,976,279,000,000 in U.S. government debt held by the public on Sept. 30, 2013 was $5,668,968,000,000 more than the $6,307,311,000,000 in debt held by the public on Obama’s first inauguration day.

That is an increase of 89.879 percent—or approximately 90 percent. Source

That's in just 5 years.

Do I hate Pres. Obama? Nope. To hate someone requires a certain level of personal relationship. I've none.

Do I luvs me some Pres. Obama? Nope. For the same reason. Don't know the man.

Do I dislike, or even hate, some of his policies and actions as President? Oh, my, yes... yes, I do. Is it because he's black, or half black or whatever? Nope. He's an incompetent man who is no where near as intelligent as he would have us believe...

His policy failures have turned me against him, not his race. When he was first elected it was cool. A real moment in history, a non-white elected to the highest office in the land. What's not cool about that?

I didn't vote for him, because I didn't much care for his stated plans, or the one's he left unstated... But, hey, I was all for giving him a chance.

When his unprecedented spending binge began, I was forever turned away... Or was it when he continued to blame the previous administration...? Maybe it was when Guantanamo, featured prominently in his campaign, wasn't closed...?

You get the picture, I hope?

His race, other than the utter coolness of his being the first non white elected, doesn't play into any of that.

Everyone's racist to some degree. We all have prejudices against people that are not identical to us to some varying degree. Conscious or unconscious, we judge and treat each person different than the next.

Lots of people would say, "I'm not a racist!" -- well, hate to break it to ya, but unless someone is just like you -- yes, yes you are (on some level). This is why the "race" card is so effective.

That's only an excuse for your own racial prejudices! Don't be laying that crap on the rest of us!

Is it right of Oprah to use it in this instance? Maybe not, but I think white people are more racist against Obama than they want to believe.

See there, you're doing the same damn thing Oprah did! You're berating "WHITE PEOPLE", because of what YOU THINK, "WHITE PEOPLE" think of Mr. Obama.

Damned racist hypocrites... They're the worst kind!

See ya,
Milt

No most Americans hate obama because the old boss is like the new boss. With Bush noone got dissapointed, the country knew what it was buying.

The people whom voted him turn against him because he is like Bush and the people whom did not vote for him hold on to the image they had of Obama before he took office.

President Barack Obama isn't "black". He's mullato.

Let's get that straight.

Thus, all the racists, and Opra both, are being silly.

And genetic diversity is good for the genepool so the eugenicists can go the way of the dinosaur.

As to the job he's done, I honestly think he's tried his best with the hand he was dealt, for the most part.

Obama hatred does however have a certain spontaneous, knee-jerk irrationality to it.

Basically the way I look at it, he's driven much of America totally insane for NOT being the second coming of Jesus Christ himself, the Great Savior.

He built up your expectation, then let you down, it was inevitable, after the state of affairs the country was left in by Bush/Cheney, the monster.

Just calling it the way I see it.

I had plenty of good reason to vehemently dislike and oppose with every fiber of my being the Bush/Cheney administration, but I have a hard time wipping myself up into the same sort of frenzy over Obama like most/many Americans.

Then again I'm Canadian, eh? so what do I know, back to beer and hockey carry on..

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

Your headline doesn't even match what you quote yourself. Oprah said, "And that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African American."

In some cases. Maybe even many cases.

Not all the time, but some of the time, maybe a lot.

But I guess an accurate title wouldn't be as exciting.

Thats not the case at all, people are hating Obama because he is taking apart the country bit by bit.

republican governors are attempting to ban 40 year old legislation on abortion...republican governors are trying to make it harder to vote, not easier....republican governors do not want their people to have affordable healthcare...republican governors do not want to raise the minimum wage...republican majority in the supreme court made corporations human beings protected by the bill of rights...a republican majority in the supreme court struck down the key enforcement mechanism in the 50-year-old civil rights act. the republican congress cut funding to the CDC, and the NIH who work to control disease outbreaks, biological weapons, and testing for drug safety...the republican congress has twice in 2 years tried to bankrupt the U.S. by not paying its bills...the republicans voted to shutdown the government, and then blamed the president for closing war memorials because of that shutdown...the republicans in congress refuse to work on immigration bills, job bills, infrastructure bills...they have cut funding to oversite and regulatory agencies that monitor clean water, safe food, wall street, banking, environment, the oil industry....

but.............people are hating Obama, because he is taking apart the country bit by bit.......

Oh wow! Another sleeping fellow!

Nobody told you that these very things you are saying are the cause of all the problems in the USA?

STOP believing you have 2 parties and that all things the one you are not part of is evil.

There is just one party but with two names. Stop the hate and unite with all your fellows americans to reform the system and kick these clowns out of office, whatever their political allegiance is.

Peace out.

More people like him just because he's black. It's the only thing he's got going for him

So yours is a personal hatred toward the man Barry himself (don't you like the sound of that, Barry, has a belittling familiarity to it, eh?).

Do you know him? You must know him personally to know that the color of his skin is the only positive quality he might have as a person, and no I'm not defending him, just pointing out the nature of almost ALL the anti-Obama sentiment I read around here. It's totally irrational and without basis in reason and logic, with all manner of hyperbole and blanket statements about communism and destroying the country, etc.

You'all ought to see what it looks like from the outside looking in, and to be honest it looks like most of you have been driven utterly insane by the hope, and then the let down.

I cried with you tears of joy during BOTH inaugurations, the second from pure relief that Romney didn't get in. And yes, Obama's a disappointment. How could he NOT be?!

We (outside the US) feel your sorrow and disappointment, but we do not understand the nature of this pure hatred for Obama. It's crazy. You're crazy. You're nuts, stark raving mad - it's true. He didn't bring the needed redemption after the Bush/Cheney nightmare, and now you HATE him for that.

Pay him and the "system" no heed, ignore it, and start creating a life worthy of yourself.

It can't be all his fault because he's not really in charge to begin with.

Things are moving forward the economy is starting to improve if only the damn corporations would start a hiring frenzy now that their coffers have been filled again thanks to the Fed's QE (eyeroll).

It's all just a racket, as you know, and many of those people are doomed, in the final analysis (spiritually, them and their children in many cases, then again rich people don't have to worry as much and probably don't get as bent out of shape..).

Live your life, love God and your neighbor as yourself, and give back to Caeser what doesn't even belong to Caeser any more (goes to interest payments to Europian Banksters).

Obama isn't your problem.

The corrupted system is the problem, and it's the same here in Canada.

So either do something to change the system, in whatever way you can, or stop whining about it, and at the very least if you must rage learn about the appropriate, balanced use and direction of civilized anger, harness that energy, don't give it over to one man in a high office because if he really were the devil (as so many tend to think, which is absurd btw), he'd love that kind of thing.

/rant over. didn't mean to offend, sorry - carry on with the Obama hate-fest.

If I close my eyes and imagine that Oprah and Obama have blue skin, it would not change my opinion that she is an attention whore and he is a tool.

Some people are racist, some people are not.

That's right, opinions are like bottoms - everybody has one, and everybody is entitled to one.

And.....I am led to believe that ALL Americans are proud to have that built into their law of the land-thingy.

How does she define all the blacks that currently hate Obama?

93% of black voters in the USA voted for him (2012). (so obviously race was an issue for a lot of them) Once they have been screwed over by Obamacare, I'm thinking a lot of the black voters who voted based on race are going to be rather conflicted. Will they be glad they voted for the black guy ... or will they be ticked off because the black guy didn't deliver, and even worse, is costing them money they don't have?

Wonder what Oprah would think about this?

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir on Friday closed his show with likely the most disgraceful rant against former Alaska governor Sarah Palin you’ve ever heard.

Besides calling her “America’s resident dunce” and claiming she has a “deceased mind,” Bashir suggested that someone should defecate in her mouth and urinate in her eyes

She'd say that he was rude or somesuch. Would she call it out as a symptom or a sign of a deeper hate? No, I don't think she would. Nor do I believe she'd say anything about misogyny. That's only something right-wing hate mongers would do. No progressive could possibly be misogynist or racist or anything. It's simply telling it like it is when they say those things.

Geeze, I'd have thought you knew these dance steps backwards and forwards by now.

ETA: I wonder what Martin's mother thinks of his performance. But given the ratings I doubt she watches him either.

new here

With Obama's approval numbers in a free fall (39% at this time), Oprah pulled the race card out and told the overseas press (BBC) that both Obama and the Office of President have been treated with contempt because Obama is black. Now while I have no doubt that SOME people hate Obama because he's black, I'd say the vast majority of people hate Obama and/or his administration because of his policies, corruption, lies, broken promises, and general STUPIDITY.

Oprah failed to say exactly what this so called 'contempt' toward Obama was. (she gave one example of a senator saying 'you lie' ... but that's really about it) My guess of what her version of contempt toward Obama is ... people expressing their disapproval of Obama's policies and actions. Guess what Oprah ... every politician faces vetting like that. All of them.

BTW ... she said nothing of Obama's contempt toward the SCOTUS when he got up in front of everyone on Capitol Hill (with SCOTUS present) and dis'd SCOTUS ... what about his 'contempt' for SCOTUS ?? Comeon Oprah ... that was a whole lot bigger than one senator saying 'you lie' when Obama was giving a speech. What about Obama's contempt for SCOTUS ... and for Republican Americans whom he called 'The enemy' ... and for gun owners ... and for people who 'cling' to their religion .. etc etc etc

BBC Interview Video
Oprahs Quote to the BBC Interview

“There’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs. And that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African American. There’s no question about that and it’s the kind of thing nobody ever says but everybody’s thinking it.”

Obama started out with an approval rating of 77%. That was in his honeymoon period before he actually did anything. People were high on hope-ium and thought real 'hope and change' were coming. Chants of 'yes we can' filled the air. Now that Obama has tried to get us in yet another war in Syria; has destroyed the health care system for tens of millions of Americans; bombed more countries than Bush43; spent spent spent with no results; presided over Benghazi-gate, and Fast and Furious, and waiver-gate, and a white house full of lobbiests even after he said 'no lobbiest will find a job in my White House' .... etc etc ... his approval rate has slid to 39%. That isn't due to his skin color. That's due to his own ineptitude and corruption.

(and frankly, I don't know how on earth he still has even a 39% approval )

BBC News - Full Video of Oprah Interview

American broadcaster and actress Oprah Winfrey said there was a whole generation of racist people who were "born and bred and marinated" in racism who would never change their ways, but that would die out.

She didn't say 'that would die out' ... she said 'THEY JUST HAVE TO DIE' I guess she's talking about nonblack folks ... but what about black anti-white racists? From what I see, those folks are still running strong. Does she think that all the anti-white black folks who live in the cities and deep south should 'just have to die' as well? She didn't include them in her 'they just have to die' talk ...

Anyways .. always a hot topic at ATS ... Obama, race, playing the race card, etc....
The boards were kinda boring today, so this should spice things up.

Divide and conquer... The recent N-word controversies in the news along with recent rise in news agencies reporting the killing of blacks by whites is meant to cause racial tension. Me being a black man, I don't agree one bit with the BS that Oprah said. I don't like Obama because he's a ***** hypocrite, that attempts to create a reform that no one wants, and attempted to irrationally spearhead America into a war that many disapproved. America, hell the world, had no problem with Obama when he was first elected because we gullibly believed every word he spat out.
