MUST-SEE: Bill Maher BLASTS selfish Christian hypocrites who don't tip waiters

you know not all Christians are simple minded idiots.... I tip waiters and waitresses at least $5 on $10-$20 meals. i do agree there is assholes in the food business, blame everyone for being selfish. the pastor is just apart of the selfish assholes in this world that only care about themselves I was a waiter and delivery driver for 3 years

atheists should wholly understand 100% if a Christian or a Jew or a Hindu doesn't "believe" in tipping.

alot of places in the world, and we are a global community here are we not? it is considered an insult to tip.

personally I am a good tipper, even if the bill does not stipulate over $10 dollars from the 15% percentage I always leave a a $10 and that is usually when I eat alone... If I am with a friend it is always $15 and above.

there is nothing in the world like a female waitress serving me a steak dinner, it is one of the finer things in life... it has to be a female though because I do not "believe" in male waiters.

I have had such poor service before though and I didn't leave a tip, In fact I have left $5 on the table enough to cover two sodas and have got up and walked out before, that's how bad it is now a days... never receiving the food of course.

Basically, I could never perform the job of a waitress, on my first night of work someone would be wearing their food home, deliberately...

I have high doubts that this has even happened at all... it's Bill Maher afterall, his show is based on satire.

I wouldn't put it beyond the atheists as part of their sick humor very much like their billboard campaign.

I mean why haven't Christians thought of this before now? it sure seems a convenient time for the bully atheists to do something just like this, and it is awful suspicious considering religious groups usually have their own places which print their media and what affiliation it has come from eg; Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, ect ect.

What Bill Maher claims was written on the check for one waitress is not very much like a Christian at all.. in fact it really seems like something an atheist would do because they are secular and being cheap and sinister... as they have proven to be.

Just for you, but primarily some other posters, to consider, I think there's some "Black or White" thinking going on. I see posters saying "Well, with such and such behavior, they aren't really Christians." There's a big problem with this line of thought. "Christian" doesn't mean a nearly perfect, sinless being, whose behavior is always exemplary. That's a standard we don't seem to apply anywhere else.

So why single out the Christians? Why not do this with another religion? There are other religions with similar beliefs regarding how to act, and this proves my point that this piece is an attempt to label Christians as hypocrites.

You do not have to tip a person ever if you do not want to.Would be nice to do though.Does not have anything to do with being a Christian.Your suppose to give to charity and to the church though as Christians.


Also I think it is better to tip people yourself instead of an auto-tip.Just proves how controlling everything has become.

I would get a whole wad of them too, wrap them in a rubber band then drop it in the collection plate with a note that said

"Hey thanks for the tips, you need this more than me though."

I wrote a thread on the couple not tipping and leaving a nasty note instead when this hit a local news outlet. What really surprised me was how many posters responded. Some flat out called it a farce, made up news to attack Christians. Some claimed the ones who did it were not real Christians (common line when a Christian does something bad). A couple implied the waiter deserved it. Hell I felt like I was under attack for bringing it to light. I am kind of glad bill brought it up its funny though I don’t see the same arguments. I guess bill is a trusted news source now.

I had no idea that Bill Maher is a jew. Not particularly interested except that I know something about Jews..both here in the states and in Israel as well.

Most Jews are secularist and atheists..and not particularly devout. Same in what today is called Israel.

They are often very pro Israel..but not particularly devout nor religious.

I also dont believe this is a fact taught to many Christians by their ministers and it should be. So many Christian Ministers are keeping their flocks ignorant of even Christianity and instead..like many Jews today ..substituting something else for knowledge and Faith.

I dont particularly like Bill Maher and do not look to him for anything...period. I find him a very poor example of an individual to take seriously in anything..including how to feed my pets.

I find him more like someone who never got past high school or second year college.

I'll put this another way..If I want Bill Maher rubbish..I go to work where I can get it at least..on the clock..I would not pay my hard earned monies to watch Bill Maher.

As to restaurants and tipping...I decide what to tip and when.

I have tipped nothing and have tipped generously. It is up to me.

I am not particularly interested in the sexuality or sexual orientation of my server. I am interested in their ability to give good service with my meal.

I have a very dim view of anyone ..hetero or homo ..who defines themselves by their sexuality. I think this is pure 24 carat ignorance. I believe that people are much much more than sexuality. One has to be totally ignorant not to realize this about people. I am appalled that even ministers do not teach this kind of thinking to their flocks. So too with teachers and political leaders. I dont think this kind of ignorance to be accidental ..but carefully cultivated.

I am not speaking here against sex or sexuality but against what I think is carefully cultivated and nurtured ignorance.



Now..I will tell you what really burns my hinder parts about restaurants...

It is to go with a woman to a restaurant and have to sit and wait for 45 minutes to an hour carrying this vibrating blinking light to tell you when your table is ready...then after that ..get poor service.

I would rather cook at home than suffer such an indignity and insult. I just don't find that many places to dine out where the service or food is good enough to be worthy of that kind of wait.

I've gotten to where I won't go to such places and will so tell the woman with whom I am in attendence.

You folks decide for yourself...but that is how I am now days.
My time and monies are hard earned. I no longer want to pay to wait for long unnecessary hold ups when I can do it myself...or go somewhere else.
