I think the more we need to prep and consider our survival the more we have the need to escape into the fantasy world.

There's only so much you can do before you need a break. Even if you don't need a break personally you could write a short story from the pov of a Japanese fish or a bird witnessing FEMA camp preparations if that's what bothers you. It's a great way to learn different perspectives on an issue. What better way to learn about survival than seeing things from an animals pov, not just that but it exercises the brain too.

Peace.

Hi guys, here's my first story:

The Friendly Hermin And The Violinist Wolf

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it.

Hm, good point.

Thanks. Fan Fiction is free advertising! It can create a cadre of dedicated fervent ambassadors that advertise for you. If you then monitor fan fiction you may come across some excellent talent that can be tapped when you principal writers have writers block. It is all good!

How do you write from a nonhuman perspective using a human language? *shaking my head*

But I did manage it. Thankfully, I have a couple weeks to polish it up before posting it. I'm a fast typer. Best of luck to the rest of you! Let's blow it out of the water!

The only way to do it with any success it appears would be to anthropomorphize.

Well, here I can't get to sleep and so decided to take another stab at this. Here is a second entry into the short-story contest:

Oh goodness, you...

Mine is about ready to be submitted. Significantly shorter than I had hoped for, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Short and sweet, right?

I'm looking forward to reading your story. It doesn't have to be long to be good. In fact short can be better in this day of shortening attention spans!

This sounds like a blast! I'd love to create something, just don't know if I have time. 0_0'''

Happy days!

I'm still debating my third story, I am stuck between two options. More to come though.

Ascension (non-writer submission)

I guess I'll bite for a writing contest.

Summary: A genetically engineered being who spent their life in DUMB (Deep Underground Military Base), decides to escape to the surface, but dangers lurk on their journey.

Hope you enjoy!

Well, here it is. My very first contribution to an ATS writing contest - ever - which of course means that it is submitted under "non-writer" (which I hope to change). With any luck, it will impress. Or at the very least, entertain.
