I just don't think robbing any store at the mall would be a good idea when not only are all police agencies on the scene but the Feds too. If this was an Italian Job scenario then maybe but I don't understand how bringing all this heat would benefit the criminals.

As far as a false flag, thank god no one was hurt but this event can & will be used against the 2nd amendment.

Just another one to add the list of recent mass shootings, only this is the first one to end the best possible way, no blood.

I don't think the guy lost his nerve.

Again, shooting out multiple cameras with a rifle is no small task. Determined, planned ahead, calm, fundamental shooting, told patrons he meant them no harm.

Nah, its a part of something bigger. The FBI are probably smart to push the cops back. They looked awfully vulnerable stacked up 100+ deep outside a single door.

suspect named Richard Shoop.

a 20 year old "actor"... wow.
edit on 4-11-2013 by TwiTcHomatic because: (no reason given)

Maybe that'll help explain why he's shooting the cameras.

Why is it that one or two people killed in an airport, mall, marathon, etc.. is such big news? The odds of any one of us being killed in those places is no greater than anywhere else we venture on any given day. I guess its just our irrational American mindset at work. Terrorists would love to capitalize on this a paralyze the country, but our defenses have thankfully kept them at bay, so far.

Ok - the theory - to supplement my previous post - the guy will be revealed to be another crazy anti government surveillance "threat"

He's shooting at security cameras!!!

LAX??

Conclusion...people who hate government surveillance will probably become dangerous and need to be curtailed.

Perhaps?

Or I just need a hobby.

Right on for the concern..."wanted to shoot cameras, not hurt people" what the heck is going on here...

yeah, that's the page of a wannabe actor. Not a real one.

Doesn't even have a professional headshot...

Looking at google maps it looks like there are a few bridges heading into NY close by the hot spot , seems like a great plan to divert attention away from them.

Two senior law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Richard Shoop. The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity shortly after midnight, said Shoop was 20 years old and lives in Teaneck.

Does that mean they have their man in custody? If not, aren't they giving the gunman an advance warning, leading perhaps to even more violence or suicide? Or perhaps to him getting rid of the evidence? Seems a rather odd tactic. Could be another Chris Dorner thing is going to happen.

-------------

Apparently the police were oh-so-ready for this one:

www.youtube.com...=166
Witness says she heard shots, followed by mall security telling them to run.
Q: "When you got outside, what happened?"
A: "Then all the police started showing up. It was within seconds that they showed up... "

agreed. I'm reserving judgement for the most part, at least until this plays out a bit more.

Oh my dear carewemust, the "Terrorists" will and ARE capitalizing on this AND have already turned this country into a collective vegetable!! "Our defenses" have kept us at bay.

I particularly enjoyed the pics of him flexing his pecs and the one of the giant 100 dollar bill on the wall.

Typical thug type.
Atypical behavior though.

Could be a clever diversion.

No doubt. I almost got into the pron game once before.
True story.

Still undecided on how I feel about all that.
