Can you devise a way for voters to vote online with bulletproof encryption and 100% security? You could make a bundle on this and help the entire county be able to vote on crucial and pressing issues.

If nothing else comes out of this we could end up with an improved voting system. I have 100% integrity and would never cheat anyone. So having me in on this could definitely help. I also have a tidge of web mastering experience.

Anymore I wonder if a party devised on a conspiracy site would be ripped through the mud.

Ok this party needs a logo. Any suggestions? The olive branch seems to have significance. Any way to incorporate this with a hand or something else? I can almost see this already. Or has it been done? Deja vue!

Aww man

People who actually believe that the problem is in the right left ideology are deluded!
The problem lay in the system: through subversion, disinformation, misinterpreted beliefs,
apathetic design and our dumbed down disenfranchised population! It does not matter
if we change the name of a political party if the problem lay in distribution of information!
Greed is the key to controlling elections and money is the door! We can have all the good intentions
in the world but unless we can be heard, maintain our ability to be seen and have an ability
to debate other candidates there can be no chance at being elected! We are enslaved by the
same system that keeps honesty at bay and greed empowered! The only way to change it would be
in the destruction of this system!

Destruction of the system? Really? Its pretty simple really... enforce the laws we have concerning our politicians...

Put a stop to the lobbyists, its a bribe, plain and simple. If needed make new laws and enforce them, to keep our reps accountable for their actions. That is the biggest problem with the system. They get away with things that the rest of the citizens would be thrown in prison for...

As per the op... I don't see this idea doing any good. Anyone in authority will abuse their authority every chance they get. So making a new party would be the same old crap.

Okay this maybe crazy and all but how about we throw out ALL political parties and just be Americans. CRAZY I TELL YOU!!!!!

Your idea is too idealistic, democrats and republicans need to go into the woods together and go through the togethermess ritual which includes psychotropic and psychedelic experiences, come back and tell us they change their minds about creating a prison/military state. If it weren't theater though i would actually believe that would work.

Lobbyist are a part of it but I think taking personhood from corporations and stripping money of its voice would be the first steps to ending some of the corruption that has rotted the US from the inside out.

They already have those, they are called moderates e.g. Bush, Christie, Clinton. You are in an awful class of people. The best way to change things is to infiltrate the parties and change them from within. I suggest u infiltrate the democrat party since they seem to be locked step in everything Obama does.

Republicans already have other free thinkers infiltrated in the party so they are already working the magic.

I bailed on the GOP long ago and am currently a registered Libertarian and worked on Gary Johnson's campaign as a media person.

The Libertarians are still being ripped thru the mud by the Tea Party and both the dembs and gop. We don't care because we are still grass roots unlike the TP, and have the only honor left in American politics.

This brings up another idea. How about voting on every major issue for all Americans? Be it a black box in the home or via internet. The internet has taken over every other way of communication, why not this?

Why couldn't every American have an internet ID. One used for voting on crucial issues? If it comes down to voting for our every day rights then yes, maybe internet access should be a right. How much does it cost to run the polls? Get the votes out to where they should be. Don't own a computer? Then use your ID at the local library or until technology gets everyone connected, at the polls. But the point is, that every one has an internet ID to be entered when it is time to vote. This doesn't have to be knowingly connected to the voter. How about some encrypted code? This can be all figured out, I am certain.

You know what? That's a great idea! The only problem I see is the EnEssEhh could be the "man in the middle." You would have to ensure that the voting system was entirely encripted with the best encription available and point to point with no "man in the middle!"

www.directdemocraticrepublic.com

this idea has been discussed here hundreds of times!

here is my own thread discussing some of my ideas. again we are all starting to talk aboutATS direct democracy thread direct tenchology as a means of maintaining governance.

the system i see working best would involve a secured independant intranet.
separate and secured from the internet.

this would be direct to the home at high speed. it would connect you first to a local area or district (as defined by members)
then to a larger services level (think of the things govt did, education security emergency services, employment)

the lower level would request services, and pay taxes into the service providers commonwealth, who would then assign resources as requested for each community. they have no power but allocation of resources and enforcement of law.

law is set and carried by a universal bill of rights at the top,and then by lower level districts/city states/ etc

obviously this is only a beginning framework. it needs way more input from others.
and being a crowdsourced form of government the end system that comes out of any dialogue may look nothing like what i envision now.

i really want to see something happen before i die. i cant let my kids inherit this legacy of police states and propaganda.

here is another thread where members have discussed changing everything up!
replace government with computers

You mean a VPN (Virtual private Network)? Can one be built that could handle such a tremendous load? Or could we have what I call, "alphabet days". In other words, voting will not be just on one day. And your day will depend on the letter your last name begins with. We have early voting anyways, so why not give it a bit more time to prevent congestion?

no a VPN uses existing networks to establish a private network. (tunneling)
im talking about building a completely separate "internet" to explain it more clearly.

so a network that you cant just plug a computer into or easily hack.
something independant of outside machines and code.

a voting day would be exclusionary, but a live networked interaction with your system is more responsive and can effect real changes in short times if needed.

and who are you voting for in your system? what i foresee is no more direct voting for a representative, but instead, you allocate your power to different law changes, budget measures, etc.

i dont vote for you to get into power because you said you would fight to lower taxes. i directly cast my vote to lower taxes.
if such a measure doesn't exist to me in my district/area/prefecture (etc) i can submit one. i can submit a suggestion to change or make a law.
i can draft an entire organisation to become a part of services provided to all.. and submit it, and everyone can vote on it on its own merits, rather than on a politician or media companies spin!

i am talking a complete redesign of what we had and the building of a completely new system to support us.

think on that for a while (: i PM you to have a conversation about this. im happy to have a public discussion too, but it may derail this thread substantially, please anyone who wants to discuss this at all, message me. or come to the thread i authored on the subject of direct democracy. the link is earlier in the thread here.

as i said the idea is coming up more and more. we all want a change, why not make it a real and complete change

crowdsource governance!

I don't know about everybody being able to vote on stuff via the net. That might be hard to implement with bulletproof security that can't be gamed or otherwise hacked.

But what I'd really like that could or should be implemented is a party which has a fully open doctrine in regards to representative government. A party with a policy that completely forbids closed door meetings. All proceedings, activities, and documentation are public. People can listen in on phonecalls, see scans of letters and postcards, read emails, everything. No waiting to see these things years later or trying to use FOIA, this kind of thing would be done as close to real-time as possible.

I'd even allow lobbying as it currently exists, but keep in mind that all the voting public are going to see your lobbying effort streamed on webcam and recorded for posterity when dealing with any office holders under this party. Attempts at dirty dealings or other activity not in the public intrest would be available for public scrutiny and discourse right from the very beginning. Sure beats waiting until some 50 page bill with obsfucating legalise gets put up for proposal, at which point having a clear discussion about it might be too late.

Also keep in mind that running for office under this party might be difficult for most people. You pretty much have to agree to give up your own privacy and make all your activity (even personal things) public in order to get its support. When you're doing your job as a representative with this team, you do so knowing that everyone and anyone is watching and listening 24-7.

Indipendents will rise in popularity ..... especially after a dose of 0bama and Bonner. It's conceivable that the rise of such a party might just be ripe, because it's just a matter of time before America is totally and completely fed up with R&D's.

Who would of thought a black dude would be elected? Well all your PC crap set the tone for it, 'give the black guy a chance' sympathy it guilt, it don't matter, we got what we deserved, at least those who voted him in. I'm damn tired of defending being white, and I'm not going to feel ashamed or sorry because I am, so take your PC and shove it, along with your guilt trip, it ain't working here. We need to elect somebody who is not some spastic weirdo or gay or lez or black or woman or....what the heck ever unusual clown entertainment, we need TRUE LEADERSHIP, not curiosities..

Return to the Constitution. Repeal the 17th Amendment. Yes, that means more representative Republic, not less. Return more power to the states and more local control. You then have more direct democracy in your localities. There should be much less need for Podunk Junction to lobby its state or federal rep for the money to fund municipal improvements. If Podunk Junction wants a new pool, the people should have a direct plebiscite to raise the money themselves, and the state a local taxes should be low enough that they should have the money left in their pockets to be able to do it in a reasonable time frame.

Scrap the Income Tax system and replace it with a straight Flat Tax rate for all people and entities not to exceed ever 10% at any level - fed, state, local. People who are below a certain income level may opt out of paying their tax obligation but they may not vote at that level until they can prove to have paid their tax obligations again for at least one cycle after having opted out. In short, no representation without taxation, and no one should ever have to pay more than 30% of their income to government in any form.

Institute term limits at all levels, cumulative through all levels.

Balanced budget at all levels, and make it a federal crime to not publish a budget on time and pass and institute it. Lawmakers found in violation of this will be removed from office (the entire Senate would be gone and should have been gone 5 years ago).

All laws passed will apply equally to all up to and including lawmakers in Congress who will no longer receive lifetime pensions and benefits just for having served as few as two years.

Beginning immediately, every federal agency, across the board, will have an annual budget cut of 5% to be applied at their discretion until the spending outlay matches intake. At that time, each agency will meet with the House budgetary committee and justify its constitutional existence annually. The committee shall have the power to recommend the termination of any agency they deem redundant in function, unconstitutional or no longer necessary.

The entire regulatory structure of the US shall be reviewed and streamlined to eliminate redundancy between depts. and eliminate burdensome and anti-competition regulations to allow the free market to begin to work in reviving the economy.

This is just a start.
