Perhaps a little Captain America , might get you in the mood.

Captain America is not here to lead the country. I'm here to serve it. If I'm a captain, then I'm a soldier. Not of any military branch, but of the American people. Years ago, in simpler times, this suit and this shield were created as a symbol to help make America the land it's supposed to be... to help it realize its destiny. Ricocheting from super-villain duel to super-villain duel doesn't always serve that purpose. There's a difference between fighting against evil and fighting for the common good. I'm not always able to choose my battles... but effective immediately, I'm going to make an effort to choose the battles that matter. Battles against injustice, against cynicism, against intolerance. I will still serve with the Avengers. I will continue to defend this nation from any and all threats it may face. But as of today, I am not a "super hero." Now and forevermore, I am a man of the people. Together, you and I will identify and confront America's problems. Together, we will figure out what we are and what we can be. Together, we will define the American Dream and make it an American reality.

mate, it's not a sign of weakness or helplessness...it's a declaration of understanding....

the flag, when flown that way, is an indication of distress....and the nation IS in distress.

righting the flag, and acting like nothing is wrong is EXACTLY what they want....they want us dumb, inattentive, unengaged, and with our heads buried in the sand.....they want us to continue watching TV, eating, buying s**t we can't afford on credit...anything to keep us distracted from what they're doing....

i think EVERYONE should fly their flag this way.....show them that WE SEE what they're doing, and that we don't like it.

choice????????........Boehner calls for a vote, the votes are counted yes or no, on opening the government back up....jesus, even morons can do this....and everybody will know how each of the congressmen votes. THIS IS ALL ON THE REPUBLICANS, and no amount of spin holds water.

yeah, if you're a partisan hack, it's really easy to blame this all on either democrats, or republicans...

it takes people not blinded by loyalty to their club, to see that both sides are at fault....

republicans are trying to do something about a bad piece of legislation, the democrats like the piece of bad legislation, and neither side is willing to negotiate....that's why we are an an impasse....

just saying "this is the republicans fault", shows a disturbing lack of understanding of the situation...

Agree to disagree?? That isn't even a logical response. Listen, I understand you're making a statement, and my issue isn't with that. My issue is that this thread is somehow garnered almost a hundred flags and I can't for the life of me understand why. It isn't a big deal....at all.

On another note...you DO seem to be a hypocrite by your own admission. On one hand, you post on an alternative news forum, and judging by some of your other postings, you fall in the anti-government crowd.

So on one hand, you turn your flag upside down and rail against government abuses, but on the other, you claim that you follow the laws of the land. According to the founding fathers...Jefferson actually....Noone should follow an unconstitutional law and it is your duty to defy it. Yet you continue to follow the tax law by your own admission...which is unconstitutional.

What you're really doing is copping out. You're doing the MINIMUM and then clapping yourself on the back for being soooo brave. Turning a flag upside down isn't brave. Posting about it so you can get some claps on your back in the form of flags or stars isn't brave. Its doing the least amount of work and expecting to win a Nobel Prize. Much like someone riding past a protest and honking their horn in support and then claiming they've done a good deed or something.

While I may agree with the concept of an upside down flag, it has zero business cluttering up the front page of any site because IT ISN'T A BIG DEAL.

you should tell that the folks down the way....i see them now and again...they're registered democrats, they voted for obama twice, because they believed the BS about getting free stuff....they think he's the greatest thing since Jesus H. Christ......and they honestly believe that the ACA is gonna get them more free stuff....

whenever i try to educate them on the reality of the situation, they tell me i'm a "dumbass cracker", and that i'm only hating on obama because he's black....

The American flag and the whole concept of national pride is a put on sir. Its a way to rally the people to a cause by governments. Making an anology between a fictional character MADE UP BY THE GOVERNMENT ie: Captain America , goes a long way to showing you are one of those who are duped into believing in the agenda...namely that America is somehow exceptional...we are not. The beacon of freedom has less freedoms than countries such as the UAE and even SYRIA.
This national pride crap has feluded critical thinking skills and no amount of flag turning will stop tptb...they're all laughing at you clapping monkeys. Its pitiful...but hey, if it makes you all sleep better knowing the OP's flag is upside down, than by all means.

At the end of the day, yoy all can clap yourselves on the back for a job well done....meanwhile, those of us in the real world will continue to mock your asinine efforts to make a statement.

you're partially correct....it is corporations....but the government is also culpable, for being in collusion with them.

they make the laws that allow the corporations to do what they do...it's not just obama...he's only the latest representative of this mess...

This site is quickly becoming like that "God-like" site....full of crap that doesn't MEAN anything. How in the hell does a thread about some guy turning his flag upside down land on the front page anyway? Like this is the first time its been done or something? I don't get it.

Is this a special flag? A special person perhaps? Oh...maybe upon seeing this guys flag, the government will see the error of their ways!?? No wait...the flag is actually an alien flag from Andromeda and has the power to open a worm hole with which the reptilians will flood out of to save us?
