In theory, if it was able to acquire mass by collecting other debris, it would gradually gain a larger orbit due to the increased momentum. This depends that the gained mass also had the same velocity as the original object. That could be achieved by having a wedge or pyramid shaped object. Debris travelling in one direction would hit it from behind while debris coming from the opposite direction would bounce off the sides.

This is utter nonsense and you have beclowned yourself with make-believe knowledge. Please spend some serious efforts at 'learn about spaceflight' websites.

I think we should check area 51 thats where the black knight is.
As far as the propulsion system i bet our shut down gov is already
using it.
We just don't know about it or a lot of other things that we should.
After all us taxpayers built all that crap that we have no access to.
Goverment is shut down therefore area 51 and all others should be
open to the public.

This is a very intriguing story, but if it exists, why hasnt it been picked up by radar or optical telescopes? NORAD can track a fountain pen in space, I think if this thing is up there they MUST have detected it. If they did, I am sure they might have gone up and brought it back down. Maybe that was what one of the "secret" military shuttle missions was dedicated for.

Ever since the Cold War both the U.S. and Russia have been obsessively tracking everything in Earth orbit just in case one side or the other wants to pull a fast one and risk a first strike. At this point, we know where every stray nut an bolt and wrench is, and we probably have a pretty sophisticated meteorite tracking system in place, too. I find it difficult to believe that a relatively large potentially alien satellite could remain undetected and unretrieved after all this time.

You make great sense and I believe NASA and our government don't explain everything to us.
Because we can find the answers that make the most sense and if we don't ? I imagine
they get a pretty good laugh with no skin off their asses.

This is intresting subject. Early satellites were balloon shaped like Echo 1 and not like this "satellite" or whatever it is


If it´s a thermal blanket left by an astronaut as some skeptics says then "man in space" programs have started earlier than we know.

Actually Echo 1 was launched in 1960 and Echo 2 in 1964, so these 2 balloons weren't typical of our first satellites. On 31 January 1958, a US Army Jupiter-C rocket launched Explorer I which was the top of the rocket. Our first satellite was supposed to be Vanguard 1 the 3.25-pound (1.5-kilogram), 6.4-inch-wide (16.3-centimeter-wide) sphere but because of problems it became our second one in orbit.
It has been in orbit 55 years and there is talk of retrieving it.
We had some pretty ungainly looking satellites even then and as far as the ECHO balloons there were only 2 of then to try to bounce radio RF waves off of, they had no antennas or electronics and could hardly qualify as typical as there were only two.

I think we are looking at space junk or parts of the Envisat that is the size of a bus and has been drifting since it stopped operating after a decade. Check this out and see if you think it resembles the OP's photo?:

The Black Knight is one of those enduring myths that keep me interested in the whole UFO/ET/para-whatever phenomena after decades of fishing around the edges of 'maybes' and terribly hoaxed photography.
It's one of those cases that just has that unquantifiable -something- that feels like we might be scratching the tip of the geniune iceberg.
And i'm not talking about the photos of space junk, or when Nostradamus and Tesla get mixed into it on various forums; a lot of people seem to conflate that with the whole thing being rubbish, which is a shame because the original reports do seem pretty unassailable.
i, for one, have no problem with new threads on the subject periodically; it seems unlikely at this point that we'll learn something new but it is always nice to be reminded why we come here.

Also i noticed no one has bought up the possible link to Phillip K Dick and his Exegis this time around, it is an honour for me to provide the obligatory VALIS link.

i bet people like JimO and all our scientific rationalists won't hold with any of it for a moment, but for me there is something so huge, so compelling, so ever-so-slightly out of the scope of our vision that it just makes me tingle with hope and dread. That's why i'm still here.

Okay my take on a few things. First, yes there is many threads about this, but really? What about people who have never heard about this? Are they supposed to know there was a thread about it? Maybe its just me, but when I see a topic that is years and years old all of a sudden revived, I don't want to dive into the hundred pages worth to be caught up, sorry, some of us have lives. This is an open forum, not a library, if the topic comes to life on its own, that is fine, its not like 50 topics of the same thing happened all at once. /rant

So I have known about this dark knight satellite for some time, like most of my posts I have no evidence to back up what I am about to say, but only a man and his creative mind being let free; Suppose many thousands of years ago was a globally civilized world much more advanced than we are today, but not too unfamiliar to who we are today. Suppose this civilization was near destruction, and they had to flee. Suppose this civilization was what we call today Mars. Now when you get to your new planet, you setup all kinds of things such as pyramids and stone hedge and all of that. But just as natural disasters destroyed your home world, you do not feel too safe leaving your knowledge of the world before on the new world. Meaning a structure on earth just does not do it. Suppose you are man kinds ancestor far back, and you know that within you is the primal urge of war, and if you put some "alien" structure explaining your origins in some place which would someday become a country, it would seem too difficult for us to say this came from "aliens", but rather this country which we hate or that country which we hate and so on. What I mean is that if you found the origins to something in some country, you might have some prejudice against that country. Unless it was in the sky!

Imagine if when you landed on this new planet, and you knew that there would be all kinds of natural disasters and wars that would cause the ancient knowledge from Mars from being here, you would want to store it somewhere. Meaning if all of a sudden everybody age 10 and older just vanished, and nobody knew how to read except maybe a small handful, you would have some knowledge, but not much, all of the thousands of years of technology and science gone. So here it is; What if the Black Knight satellite is a giant flashdrive if you will, of our former world from Mars, containing all of our origins and knowledge and all of that. Being human, we would know that at some point we would go into space and find it. What is it transmitting? It transmit pattern, the footprint of intelligence.

So something is there, why has nobody grabbed it? It seems so real and attainable now. Two reasons, because it is not real and its just a blanket as all the skeptics say. Or the other reason being that we did grab it. What was on there? Undecipherable language that is the root to all of our languages today, maybe revealing many kinds of things as described before. Maybe it is sentient? Maybe it is a time machine that our former Martian ancestors left here so we could someday go back and save Mars when we had the wisdom and know how. Who knows. So there you go, either I have described one version of what it is, or you can believe it is a blanket and continue on with your boring life.

Forget all the pictures and guesses, what I want to know is if it been there since the 60's and American and Russia said its not theirs, who else had the technology to put it up there? and why is it still untouched? They will send probes into space to find unusual things but this they ignore, seems fishy...

This is like the third thread about this in the last month...how can this topic still have legs!!?? Home based telescopes are capable of seeing other planets...yet there's not one picture of this thing that's verifiable anywhere.

Do any of you really believe that this thing has been in orbit for thousands of years without nary a mention of it from the more liberal space nations like Russia and China??

Me thinks you need to get your heads outta yer arses and cocus on things that are actually proven and have more of an impact on our lives than having this crap taking up space on the home page. Especially since a search reveals this topic has over 50 threads dedicated to it.

Has anyone ever questioned how in the world anyone came to the conclusion that it was exactly 13,000 years old? How would one go about dating something that hasn't ever officially been captured or touched or even officially "seen" by the government?

I'm still investigating this object-but I will say at this point-people need to take their heads out of the box and think outside of the box.

Many use what we already know and have for fuel reference-Nasa(not) ever going to tell us the real truth.

Why couldn't it be powered by the Sun?

Assuming that earth tracking systems can detect alien satellites..... then yes it would have been found and kept secret by now.

Why dont they jsut capture it and bring it back down to earth? Smh

The zoomed picture looks like a crocodile head. Fair enough, it might not be this, but the fact of having Nikola Tesla included inside this story makes it even more epic. I will from the time I wrote this post read the the article. I must clarify the thread might get a star and flag but this is not certain, it will be on my own discretion.

i don't think relating Spirits, demons and cryotids would be a goo idea of solving The Black Knight case :p It's too much diference between all stories.

Black knight case is unique, it would surely make a good movie. My best bet is that the majority of these photos are just military jets and the Black Knight is just a big rock trapped on our athmosphere. If it was alien, it would be way more scary and bizarre.

I very rarely post but I think the story itself is real. An unknown was detected, however like many have said the story has become twisted. I remember reading that it's orbit is not fixed just to Earths Orbit. All the posts I read by small minded people go up study it -lasso it! Do you really think that would be possible? Does its functioning have to be a human's understanding on rocket type fuel? We cannot imagine what a superior race uses e.g UFO'S we can grab the concept of what they are let alone how they get here. Those news stories im afraid was the first and last of it (shut tight straight after publishing) They do not want the people to know! What I find most intriguing is we don't even know who we are or how we got here LOL. We know nothing accept the big ol circle we live on and studying that from a scientific perspective has proven we still have a lot to learn.
