OK, Now that's your second reply to me yet you have not answered my question but rather more inclined to discuss everything else but.

It's ok, not everyone is willing to be open.

For the record, whether here in the States, Iran or Mars I'm against such marriages. It's my personal opinion from being a parent of two.

I am a parent of three, does that make my opinion better.

The problem with all of these discussions is that we discuss a physical age when in reality what we should be looking at is the psychological age, ie, the age when a reasoned decision can be made by the young person.

In many western nations the state tries valiantly to wrap our kiddies up in cotton wool. Our current generation seems hell bent on me, me and instant gratification with no real repercussions. So perhaps in Iran their young people are a lot more mature than ours. In fact I would suggest that they would be.

I know that much of what we read about Iran in the MSM is simply propaganda.

I know they have religious tolerance towards others. The real question is why you seem hell bent on wanting them to do things your way.

The most abysmal record for dealing with children who become wards of the state is the US followed closely by Great Britain and Australia. Since this story comes from the Western Propaganda machine I would wait until I get the whole story.

Should a Father marry an adoptive Daughter? No, the father figure should never enter a sexual phase be it adoptive, foster or step relationship. Not in my opinion and I am a counselor specializing in these areas.

As for the age issue, I have counseled 14 year olds who are quite mature enough to make that decision for themselves. I have also come across many 40 year olds who have absolutely no idea. It is not the physical age that matters but the psychological maturity that allows such decisions. Is 12 or 13 too young, yes, in my country. I don't know how mature kids are in Iran since I have never counseled any of them nor do I expect to, I don't know the language.

I am against child marriage but there were times that it served a purpose. And as it has been pointed out that in some states 14 year olds can get married. Shouldn't we be taking care of this pedophilia in America before complaining about other nations? And it would be nice if the article linked in the op had a actual link to where this story came from. I'd like to know what in their culture makes them more mature? Not comparing them to any other culture. Because that's the point, unless you want to convince me that girls that young are ready for adulthood, then something is making them grow up too fast, and I'm guessing it's not by choice.
