So does anyone on the Right have an opinion of Boehner not allowing a vote that he knows a majority in the house supports that would end the government shutdown?
Seems like all of you want to talk about anything except that simple fact.

this congress was the one who was voted in to put a stop to Obamacare.
They are doing their job for the first time I can ever recall.
And exactly how are they doing their "job"?
They have shutdown everything in the government EXCEPT the ACA...so how is it exactly that you think they are stopping it?
Obama and the Senate Democrats are not going to fold, Republicans are turning on the Tea Party members every single day, Grover Norquist has turned on the Tea Party members, Wall Street has turned on the Republicans, Corporations are turning on the Republicans, and the latest polls are showing that the public is overwhelmingly against this shutdown and hence telling the Republicans to knock it off.
But please explain, how are their current actions stopping the ACA?
Definitely not the CBO, the CBO has actually released very encouraging numbers about the ACA.
The growth of health care spending cannot exceed economic growth indefinitely, because if it did, total spending on health care would eventually account for all of the country’s economic output—an impossible outcome. Instead, over time, people will try to limit their spending for health care in order to maintain their consumption of other goods and services. Private insurers and employers will adjust the insurance coverage they offer, the benefits they provide, and the amounts and nature of their payments to health care providers. In addition, state governments—which pay a large share of Medicaid’s costs and have considerable influence on those costs—will limit the growth of spending for health care in order to manage their budgets. Those reactions to cost pressures will increase the incentives for health care providers to invest in cost-reducing technologies and to increase efficiency. Thus, even in the absence of changes in federal law, growth in per capita spending on Medicaid and on health care financed through the private sector will gradually slow. The rate of growth of Medicare spending per beneficiary is also likely to slow, though to a lesser extent, even without changes in federal law—reflecting changes in medical practices common to all patients, payment rate changes allowed or required under current law, and the increasing pressure of premiums and cost-sharing amounts, such as copayments and deductibles, on enrollees’ finances.

It's a valid comparison
For a fictional show (based on actual events), this is the truest news story you have ever seen.

Well in the absence of proof that a majority of votes actually exists, I would say our elected representatives in the House are finally representing the majority of the population.

So as you can see by what the CBO actually stated, versus your opinion and false assumptions, spending on healthcare, (the ACA, will increase to the GDP). How is that a good thing when we can't pay our bills now? What new taxes will our government officials come up with then?
But for claims about deficits, we consider the Congressional Budget Office, often called the CBO, to be the standard by which we fact-check claims.
The CBO said this about the health care law back in 2010: It lowers the deficit, by about $124 billion over 10 years.
And in 2011, when Republicans offered a bill to repeal the health care law, the CBO said that increased the deficit, by about $210 billion over 10 years.

I have to stop you right there...Are you new to ATS?

There's no genuine indication from any official sources that say Boehner is holding back anything.
All we are hearing is an illusion from Left Wing puppet sources IMO.

Yes, that is at least one standard definition of a Dictator.
And yes, rape, really. It is one of many forms of population control in dictatorships.
I cannot decide if your encouraging dictatorship or ignoring reality.
If Obama was a Dictator, and this was a police state, Boehner would be dead and i am pretty sure Obama care, welfare and many other government services that people seem to hate on wouldn't exist...
Wait a minute....that's the answer isn't it. People would be perfectly ok with a dictator as long as he held the same values and ideologies that they held.
These are the people who control you, and the President. A dictatorship of hundreds? Is that possible?
Boehner is a prick. Like most politicians this isn't about Americans, is it about his personal viewpoint and the views held by a small minority of elected officials. Naturally we will circle jerk around this for awhile, point the finger at anyone who doesn't sit on our side of the political divide and in the end do nothing about it but wait and bitch.
edit on 4-10-2013 by Thorneblood because: (no reason given)
They haven't shut down government, they have provided bills to keep government funded. The democrats have prevented these bills from being voted on.
The buck stops with Obama.
All you're doing is parroting NBC and the Obama administration. I actually feel terrible for people like you, to go through life so gullible never gives you a chance for success.
Look, NO ONE I KNOW, NO ONE, supports the ACA; and no one I know blames congress for this.
Besides, Fox News has been reporting the same thing all day. They have also been reporting that House Democrats and a group of House Republicans are planning on using a parliamentary petition to force the clean CR to the house floor, but it can only be done on the second or fourth Monday of the month, so they can't introduce it until the 14th.
Would you like to share that information????
That legislation includes many other provisions that, on net, will reduce budget deficits. Taking the coverage provisions and other provisions together, CBO and JCT have estimated that the ACA will reduce deficits over the next 10 years and in the subsequent decade.
So as you can see by what the CBO actually stated, versus your opinion and false assumptions, spending on healthcare, (the ACA, will increase to the GDP). How is that a good thing when we can't pay our bills now? What new taxes will our government officials come up with then?
Your painting of ACA, seems purely made up and fictional compared to the actual numbers and projections painted by the CBO, that I easily found by just looking it up..........
But hey, propaganda is great when it is used in your favor right????

Ummm...yes, they have shut it down. Doesn't matter how many times you or Fox News says this, everyone knows this is the doing of the Republicans and their temper tantrum about the ACA.
The provided bills to keep their favorite sections of government funded. They are doing this for political reasons...they want to open up the Park Services...but haven't really said much about opening up the NWS or FEMA with a hurricane barring down on us. They will wait for the hurricane to hit, then introduce a bill to fund those specific items as well to try to look like a hero. But they can end it now if they would drop their tantrum about the ACA.
The buck stops with Obama.
Obama doesn't have a vote in the House or the Senate...I fail to see how he holds any blame at all. Until both houses pass a bill and Obama vetoes it, he holds zero blame for this shutdown.
All you're doing is parroting NBC and the Obama administration. I actually feel terrible for people like you, to go through life so gullible never gives you a chance for success.
Sure I can, and unlike you, I will share the total budget impact and not just the spending program. And here is a hint, more spending on healthcare programs saves money in other areas

Unlike me??? Really? I gave you an example, all you did was give your opinion until I called you out to show some actual proof!!! I am glad I got you on the path that opinions mean absolutely nothing, and forced you to actually show some proof of what your saying! You should thank me for teaching you how to back up your opinion!
