Hello David, Thank you for coming on here for AMA!!
I honestly had no idea what was going on in out national parks. I think a lot of Americans are oblivious to the fact that ALOT of people go missing in our parks, I didn't even know and I figured myself at least privy to most information.
You have opened my eyes and I thank you for that and as well as another person to go out and buy your book to read as you have definitely opened up a whole new area.
With that being said, I have one question, more like, "what you think"...

In the case of Carl Landers, this man was an experienced hiker, climber and overall awesome fitness an in shape.
He said he felt "Poorly" and so continued on to lake Helens, that last known whereabouts of his location.
Now, after searching, they come up with nothing, even the snow where the path was had nothing.
So I was wondering, I had before heard of cases on Mt. Shasta being part of other theories like the Hollowed earth theory, Lemurians and BFGT.
Would you say that in his case, it was as if the ground opened up and swallowed him?? That perhaps maybe there might be a vast network of underground tunnels where "Things" can crawl up and take people? That in itself could account for the impossible terrains and lack of bodies as well as equipment.
I have always wanted to visit Mt. Shasta, but now regarding your research, I will have to be more mindful on what I do out there. So many stories about that mountain, strange lights, beings and Singing...yes, beautiful music and singing...as if something lives beneath the base of these mountains, if I didn't know any better, it would seem that some of these cases involve a few notorious mountains.

Hi David. I have heard you on C2C an have always been fascinated by the info provided on the shows.

My question is: Is it known how many, or percentage of the missing are actually nearby locals to whatever state/fed. park they disappeared from? Or were they all mostly vacationers?

I've been looking to buy a place bordering national forest lands and your search for the missing always comes to my mind. Thank you!

Sure..Grizzly bears, mountain lions, wolves, plus People...they kill the most often of all...and often family...add in getting lost in the wilderness, dying of exposure, falling and hitting your head on a rock, slipping off a cliff or having a heart attack...the list goes on and on...animals scavenge carcasses and finding any single body in a vast wilderness is an extraordinarily difficult task. Hell there have been bodies discovered after decades that were just yards off a highly trafficked road or highway. Bodies in a vast forested terrain? People go missing in broad daylight on crowded city streets every day and aren't ever found, why would people disappearing in vast stretches of wilderness warrant less than rational explanations?

Dr, Ketchums analysis was supported by numerous other scientists that put their credentials and career on the line. Remember, Dr. Ketchum didn't do the extraction of the DNA , many different labs did this and all came to the same conclusions.......

I have a question regarding the Erickson Group video (Sleeping Matilda) and its subsequent release based on Dr. Ketchum's peer review. Do you know why the full documentary has not yet been released to the public? Is it hinged on the results of the paper and have you ever seen it yourself?

Plenty of questions. Many that are unresolved.

But I still commend David for trying to confirm or deny certain aspects of the stories he investigates.

I will be truthful, I find that the evidence of Sasquatch be to be doubtful concerning today's tech. But human abductions abound as well, so I am trying to keep my mind open.

There is a lot of weird stuff here.

How can anyone not make the connection when David has written or co-authored three books about Bigfoot? Prior to the 411 series?

Thank you so much for answering some of our questions!!! When ATS announced the new AMA & asked for requestes, your name was the only one I submitted.

My question is.... Is there one case that you've studied that haunts you? Some of the cases' details just seem unbelievable, is there one for you that stands out above the rest?

sidenote: I am completely fascinated by the Dennis Martin Disappearance. All those people, from so many places & professions looking for him and nothing at all was found. Just leaves me shaking my head.

The Russians in the Dyatlov case also shed shoes and other clothing. Their tent showed that they'd cut their way out of it.

In these cases was there a specific type of natural element you noticed more often then others. Specific types of trees, rocks, rivers or caves? Were their circles of mushrooms, stones? Myth's involving people living under the earth?

I live in Eastern Washington, and one of the myths i know from around this area actually involves an indian man who disappeared for a year and claimed he had been captured and enslaved by a tribe of bigfoots. He later managed to escape.

What connections, if any, could be made between these clusters and the habitats of cryptozoological/legendary creatures?

If you assume the existence of parallel universes exists, then could these 'soft spots' be the thinnest places between realities and if so could this explain the disappearances?
Or is it more likely that time/reality 'skipped' and those people caught up in that event return to normal space time at the closest geographical location possible?

Always hike with a partner.
Purchase a personal locator/transponder. They range from $100-$500
If you are lost, hit the transponder and your message is routed to the closest law enforcement agency
Lastly, we recommend always carrying a firearm. Get trained by a professional, get comfortable with the gun.
