The local news source said the name being announced on twitter cannot be confirmed, I believe that twitter was the source of the name they was getting ready to drop as well, they said the name was "withdrawn" ...

Why would I be afraid? I don't live in the area. If I did live in the neighborhood, I would likely think twice before sending my children out into the neighborhood to play? That means coward?

The name being used (they said) was found on a badge close to the shooter, the owner of the badge was said to be being questioned.

They said they have reports the shooter shot his way in but are speculating maybe he used the badge ...

No, its a lockdown. Regardless of what you believe, like you said you are not even there, and people that are there have said its a lockdown.

This is an attack on the American Military and Military Personal
on a Military Base in America. Thats an Act of War,, no matter foreign or domestic.
This aint Boston. And how will this effect Naval Fleet Security at Sea? ,, was it a diversion?,, was there anything Top Secret,, removed/destroyed?
I say release the actual video/pictures of the suspects.

Local news just stated that two more additional schools are in lock down for a total of 8 now.

And, they will not lift the lock down until the manhunt is complete.

As of 1317 hours, we are still on "FPCON Delta: shelter in place. Two additional shooters possibly in the area". We can't even leave the building to walk to our cars.

Because if you dont voluntarily "shelter in place" you are liable to get shot. I mean hell, they are shooting bystanders and very old people and everything these days.

Given the high level and extensive training, they know to never overlook the possibility that a 95 year old using a walker on the side walk isn't a terrorist.

Good luck refusing a search, person or house...

Cops are hot right now, they will shoot indiscriminately if they think you are a threat. Best to use this opportunity to hunker down and order a pizza delivered...

It happens all the time in these scenarios, as is their right. Some parents choose to disregard the "stay in your homes" VOLUNTARY request and go pick up their children from school...all the fricken time...You guys seem to need to disregard reality to fit your "Police-State" theme...which ironically involves the false "fear mongering" that you claim to be combatting.

Do you have food/water in your desk squirreled away? Believe it or not ... both my husband at work, and my daughter at college, have a few boxes of granola bars as well as more than a few bottles of water hidden away in case something like this happens.

(we are semi-preppers).

I see things much like beezer here but I can also understand why they are not releasing the children from 8 schools, every parent in Washington DC will be on the streets to get their kids and create a gridlock situation. Keeping the streets clear while "maybe" more suspects are on the loose is not a bad idea.

Yes. Plenty of food and water to last days. The crazy part is that once they release FPCON Delta the masses will try to leave at the same time - which will cause havoc on traffic too.

I used to work there (1999) before the massive expansion.

I need to take 395 Interstate that swings around the Navy Yard home. I hope It's not shut down.

Are you saying that bombing / attacking civilians is not an act of war? Like if the US blows up a house in Afghanistan it isn't an at of war. Attacking a mall or office building in the US isn't? But a military base makes it war?
