Let me tell you they need us more than their willing to let on, and we, the rest of us can certainly do WITHOUT THEM.

My understanding, is that the Super Rich want more people, not less, more consumers, more people to buy more useless rubbish that they dont need.
India and China work very hard to maintain the poor and underclass. As said, imagine if the 2.5 billion people in those countries demanded to live like Americans, in big houses on huge blocks, with clean water, a pickup truck and muscle car in the garage......The infrastrucure of those countries could'nt cope. Not enough water, not enough gas stations, not enough roads, sewerage services, the pollution, the list goes on.

That is happening. India can bring in more money to their country by educating their children and have them working in call centers, R&D centers and just about anything else that can be done remotely. And the graduates love it because they get to live in modern apartments.

Then there is the fighting and competition for ground-water by farmers and business:

Then there's also competition between home owners for water pressure - every owner would buy an electric water pressure booster pump so that they can have enough water for the dish washer (wife definitely doesn't want to get her hands dirty), washing machine and bathroom shower rooms. But once everyone has one, they are back to where they were before but with extra electricty usage.

Bo, why not set aside your prejudices for a short time and think openly.... Perhaps you can conceptualize the thought that these people, though wealthy, want to help humanity. Perhaps they genuinely care about improving life on this planet. Now for one moment, explain how YOU would accomplish that feat if you had the wealth of the alleged elite? The thing is, we haven't seen a lot of evidence of this. In fact, we've seen tons of evidence to the contrary. Lots of huge corporations make choices that benefit themselves far more than humanity as a whole. The massive levels of corruption in the medical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the prison industrial complex, the military industrial complex, and the so-called "War on Drugs" are all great examples / proof of this.

Sure, some billionaires engage in "philanthropy." But they probably only give away about as much as they can deduct from their taxes, and/or to charities which serve their agendas in some way.


No-- if the guys at the top were highly benevolent creatures, we'd be living in a very different world right now. Even the sheer fact that many ridiculously wealthy companies like wal-mart don't even want to pay their legions of workers (on whose backs, and by whose sweat their very profits are reaped) a fair and liveable wage, is ample evidence that the people running the show are far more greedy and self-serving than benevolent and philanthropic.


The modern corporatist version of capitalism is a cancer on this planet, the way it is currently practiced.

sad as we watch the model Detroit set as an example of our collective future which reminds me of how Africa and other struggling countries endured the politics of the rich and care-less club. My son and I were talking about a great invention/idea/concept for a new pencil, when we realized that in order to keep the cost low we would have to outsource the labor and materials to china. This is why we will not pursue our idea.
