I remember, back in 1985, while stationed in Europe with the Air Force, some of us got mail from Libya. It was supposedly from Gaddafi, and it was basically an open letter urging us to rise up against our military "masters" and over-throw our government.
It caused quite a few laughs back then.
This thread reminded me of that. I guess some things never change.
This thread has provided information about the war in Syria in the modern day when people don't like to research and find the truth for themselves.

Or those that wish to undermine efforts for their own (country's) gain.
The Scorpion and the Frog
A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the
scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The
frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion
says, "Because if I do, I will die too."
The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream,
the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of
paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown,
but has just enough time to gasp "Why?"
Replies the scorpion: "Its my nature..."
Yes ,but the hyenas can be eaten by the lions.

But you don't like to see the truth after 19 pages replying ..
The Islamic Republic of Iran has conducted an extensive, expensive, and integrated effort to keep President Bashar al-Assad in power as long as possible while setting conditions to retain its ability to use Syrian territory and assets to pursue its regional interests should Assad fall.
The Iranian security and intelligence services are advising and assisting the Syrian military in order to preserve Bashar al-Assad’s hold on power. These efforts have evolved into an expeditionary training mission using Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces, Quds Force, intelligence services, and law enforcement forces. The deployment of IRGC Ground Forces to conflict abroad is a notable expansion of Iran’s willingness and ability to project military force beyond its borders.
Iran has been providing essential military supplies to Assad, primarily by air. Opposition gains in Syria have interdicted many ground resupply routes between Baghdad and Damascus, and the relative paucity of Iranian port-visits in Syria suggests that Iran’s sea-lanes to Syria are more symbolic than practical. The air line of communication between Iran and Syria is thus a key vulnerability for Iranian strategy in Syria. Iran would not be able to maintain its current level of support to Assad if this air route were interdicted through a no-fly zone or rebel capture of Syrian airfields.

So Iran doesn't have an agenda or a stake in the future of the Middle East?

There are no "innocents" anymore.
No angels.
Iran has an agenda.
Syria has an agenda.
The US has an agenda.
Russia, China, Saudi. . . . . .
All have agendas.
Altruism is lost.
To beg otherwise is disingenuous at least, and subversive at best.

So what if Iran is involved with Syria? What does that have to do with countries across the Atlantic getting involved with toppling governments like in Syria and other nations using the same fundamentalist they claimed attacked them ?
Only read the first three pages and had to comment.
The majority of Syrians are Sunni Muslims.
The Assad family and the vast majority of those in the Syrian government and positions of power are Alawites who are a branch of Twelver Shia Muslims.
Surely it's not purely coincidence that Iran and Hezbollah who support the Assad regime are also Twelver Shia Muslims.
