How about we let the UN inspectors actually inspect something? Who knows, maybe they'll find something?

Maybe Assad should have let the inspectors in right away instead of 5 days later.

If you hear gunshots at my house, and the police ask to come in to inspect to see what happened, and I refuse until 5 days later, who cares what the police find. Five days to clean up the mess means finding nothing doesn't mean there wasn't something to find at one time.

Ok, it's obvious all nations are built of glass but reguardless do you or don't you agree attacking Syria is just another violation of international law? Libya & Iraq were a violations, just to name a few, & now they wanna strike Syria. We all know it won't end with Syria, it will move forward to Iran sooner or later, perhaps throw in another ME nation for kicks, so when is enough enough?

I am waiting for the Russians to add; "and if they are attacked, Russia will not stand bye and do nothing"
I think that would stop us in our tracks, this whole thing is ridiculous.
I know there are many different theories on who wants to get the US involved and why but the truth is, only select people really know the truth.
It cant be denied though.

Russia will not do a thing and to be honest, they lost any negotiating power they had left when they gave Snowden asylum.

Putin wants to beat his chest and act like Russia is becoming a super power once again, but I personally believe he is all bark and no bite. If the UK and USA ignore him, without any consequences, it could put Russia back five years.

Of course a lot here will disagree, seeing most are anti usa and think the US is actually responsible for the chemical attacks, but I find it funny that people think the US is the only corrupt government in the world. The Russian and Syrian governments are ten times more corrupt then the USA,

It sounds like the UN is to the governments as the commission is to the Mafia. If you want to whack a rival boss, you have to get permission from the other bosses first. How's this okay?..

Syria has looked like a good excuse to go to war for a long time. That is all that country is good for is an excuse. There is really not much oil that comes form Syria, or anything else for that matter. Countries do not go to war unless there is something to gain by it. Despite what rosey glasses illude, they do not just go to war because someone was mean.

Why would all these countries vow to go to war over a country with a measly 20mil people when there is nothing to gain? They produce few recourses, and the oil it puts out is not much surely nothing to go to war over. If the US gets any oil from there its a barrel or two, and that is just for now, their production has seriously declined ove ther past 10 years.

History states, the best way to come out of depressions, recessions, and civil unrest is WAR. It would reestablish power. Push some to the top and others over the edge. Russia has a lot to gain. It has been working very hard at coming back from hitting rock bottom. Here in the US, it is no secret we are close to the edge.

Find all the countries who have had financial issues and watch them run to take sides.

Humans are capable of great crimes and incompetence without the assistance of the USA

Agreed!

Folks believe that the people in the mideast are too stupid to think for themselves and require the US help.

Russia makes basic common sense points, but who cares what Russia has to say? They voice an opinion against everything the US does, doesn't stop the US doing it and Russia getting back to selling hardware to China and India.

It's like a f'ing pantomime!

Not only is this statement by Russia true, but it is saying a very clear message without coming out and saying it!!

Russia is saying anyone who attacks Syria without UN approval will be counter attacked by others....Not mentioning any names or anything!!

I hope the USA takes the appropriate measures before lighting up the Syrians!!

This could end very badly for not only Syria and/or the USA, but multiple others if it goes badly.....That could trigger all out war with everyone!!

I hope and pray this not to be the case.....USA needs to just stay away from this mess, UNLESS we are creating this ourselves to get in there...

I am in NO way a fan of Obama but sence when does the US takes its orders from the UN.

NATO is the united nations. What the rockefeller and rothschild families want they ORDER the UK, USA and France to deliver. Of course people whom own thousands of shares in defense related companies LOVE the use of force for any reason.

I have been abhored of this status quo for a long time. I am running out of words, out of patience and out of hope. Keep being ignorant and laughing to the grave. Sooner or later WW3 will break out knowing you helped muslim fanatics come to power whom absolutely hate christians and jews and would want them annihilated.

Just think alqueda allegedly did 9-11-2001 and now we are helping these imbeciles overthrow the military. Assad represents the military just like mubarrak did in egypt. How stupid can people be, its mindblowing annoying.

Russia is correct,of course.Although i do not remember UN approval of usage of force in that war with Georgia....

Georgia is split into few parts and one of them started a genocide against the other. They were killing them for almost 24 hours until the Russians came. It was known who did it and who started it so the decision was easy. Unless you support genocide against innocent civilians, it was fast and good decision.

In the case of Syria it is unknown who committed chemical attack. And it's not a good idea to help people who had a good reason to slaughter their own. Syria has a huge stock of chemical weapons and it would be a mistake if people who may have committed the biggest chemical attack in 25 years got their hands on one of the biggest stock of chemical weapons in the world.

Speaking of UN inspectors, apparently snipers are shooting at them. So are we to believe Assad is letting the inspectors in & then sniping them? Sounds like the work of terrorist to me.

Precisely my thoughts. The Muslim Brotherhood/Al Qaeda wouldn't think twice about sniping some UN inspectors if they thought it would hurry along the bombing runs on Assad's infrastructure.

This whole situation is sickening. It is a highly sectarian conflict, with at least seven factions involved and yet we are told to treat it as though it is Evil Assad vs. the Righteous Rebels. Utter nonsense. The rebels proper might have a case to make against Assad - but the Jihadis are creating the chaos that is leading us to the brink of WW3. And the Western Elite are tugging at the leash to buy into the lie and use it to give the go ahead and bomb Assad, like that will solve anything.

All that such bombings will accomplish is giving Jihadis, who hate the West, access to more chemical and ordinary munitions, and perhaps a seat of power too.

This entire situation is pure madness with no end. It's like an out of control bus that is rolling down a mountain without brakes and with a lunatic at the wheel.

The bought and payed for liars like John Kerry are out in full force. A lot of puppets will be wetting their beaks and will be receiving back door hand jobs.

All the sheople of the Sheople Nations who are involved in this future conflict will go about their daily lives like the half dead imbeciles that they are.

Some people are anti-usa but those people are just the usual suspects and easily spotted.

I'm not anti-usa, nor am I anti uk. Consider myself a loyal citizen of the UK.

What I am anti is stupidity, and more specifically stupidity enacted through dishonesty. I don't believe whats being put into place here is sensible and in the long term interests of the British or American public.

After the Iraq debacle the governments and security services are entitled to no benefit of the doubt at all. I supported the 2003 Iraq adventure as I believed the authorities. It turned out the whole thing was a ruse based on pure unadulterated bull poo.

If we are to believe Assad signed his own death warrant out of stupidity or madness we demand hard and independently (UN) verified evidence. Refusing to swallow the same # sandwich twice is not anti american.

Seems more like a publicity stunt, nothing more.

Yeah, Russia makes a great point. Sure they do. Ask them if they EVER had ANY UN authorization for ANY of their actions in places like Afghanistan. The short memory around here is astounding.

If Syria was such an important ally then why doesn't Russia eliminate Assad's enemy or at least give (a lot) more assistance. It is obvious that Assad is having some big troubles doing this himself. Russia can do this with ease. Do they need UN permission to do this?

Wait isn't Syria a member of the UN? Where is the UN when the Syrian government needs them?

What is going on in Syria is a proxy war between The United States (The Allies) and Russia. This proxy war can not sustain for too long before a full blown conflict emerges.

The United States knows this and so wants to end this before it escalates into a major conflict and the actual participants can no longer withhold their identities. That of course would be a catastrophic no no for both sides.

So, it seems the United States is getting desperate and is beginning to resort to false information/accusations in order to make an excuse to end it quickly. And, of course in a manner that that which the end results in something that benefits them.

Assad is no longer recognized as representive of Syria by most of the worlds nations. The NCS is slowly replacing his people in international organizations, the UN seat will take longer because of Russia. And you are correct Russia has done the absolute minimum to support Syria, just enough to keeps Syria paying for weapons.

Saudis bribe Russia by giving them a big share in oil to drop Assad and push in a few warnings to Russia.

Then again I would have never thought Russia would take bribes.

The Ruskies mean big business when they mean it and if it means intervention with the US on there part it WONT be troops on the ground it will be missile exchanges.

I think Russia does not want to see anything like that to happen over Syria. Unless they risking to lose something if the lose Syria
