Im tired of this Administration, those in power, not addressing the real issues. There are so many youth that cant find jobs. Unemployment for black youth is downright embarrassing. You think these youth would be involved with crap like this, if they had a job, or a better outlook on life?

Its a damn shame this Administration, past Administrations have failed our youth. Its the truth, and no one can tell me otherwise.

He's obviously accepted as black. I don't know if colour has a lot to do with it.

Blacks in Australia, Aboriginals are often white, and 'black' is a way of life, that they feel their roots, some a lot, so colour isn't supposed to matter... I have a mate like that who's white, he said racism against him was worse than he's ever seen.

Well that was a list of generalizations. Hard to follow as well. Could you edit so I could maybe have a chance at understanding what you're trying to get across. If you want to skim the posts in this thread to get a sense of the tone and trend of it then do so and let me know how it is generally coming across when objectivity is applied. Racism won't die when there are still so many people with racist tendencies whether they identify it as such or not. When a thread like this can go on for pages before someone points out how it's entirely filled with poster produced racist undertones and that borderline hate parties like this are commonplace on ATS is not a good sign.

Well said, everyone agreed that something should be done but disagree on what must be done and I say take what works and repeat it, from my POV living in Japan, America seems scary as hell and every time I mentioned my desire to return home in earnest I am told to stay away by friends and family members,I often wonder if it's really as scary as it looks the anger the politics the economic, is America worth investing into and I am not talking just money here..but glimmers of hope make me want to ignore them.

Its currently all over the news.

S is about to Hit-the-fan.......................a fan that is fuelling a race war.

As an Aussie, I am appalled at this crime, but it will NOT stop me from visiting my friends in the US one bit. Racism is alive and well in my part of the world and the hatred towards Aboriginals is virtually mainstream.

I've been reading various posts of this thread to my husband, as I read through this thread.

I love this site for this, keeping us focused and talking about real issues in our country and the world. Otherwise, we'd likely just be rotting our brains away in our down time just watching mindless, senseless entertainment.

But I like what my husband has to say on this matter and thought it worth repeating,

'I don't care what color your skin is, the ignorance just needs to die."

Wishful thinking I know, hoping we can eradicate ignorance, but a better starting point I think, than separating ourselves in society and pointing the finger at one another, or rather giving each other the finger.

I'm not saying what they did was right. I'm saying what they did isn't unexpected. When you're still treated like dirt even after a century, you begin to feel you have a right to take some of what they have. You look at that baby and you think, "Demon spawn. When they grow up big enough to talk, the first word out of their mouth will be the N word. And when they're old enough to handle a gun, their father son bonding time will end with a bullet in my head." Just like your bother, or your sister, or your mama who got raped and killed.

And that's when you decide you won't give that little baby a chance to screw you and your family over like all the other white folks. That's when you decide to get the drop first. I'm more concerned about the cover up of the media, not to engage in this story because it was black on white and not white on black. That is my main issue here, that blacks can do no wrong, never racist in the least, and every time, no matter how rare it is, that a white man targets a black man, it's nation-wide racism. That is the sickening part, and agenda, that I have serious issues with.

As an Aussie I am sickened that a young kid from my home town of Melbourne has been gunned down mercilessly in a thrill kill attack, murder is murder. Whether it was racially motivated is not the issue. This same thing could have happened in Northern Ireland in the 1970's, it could also have happened here, there are sick and angry people everywhere.
I am sad for his family and friends, and this would have no bearing on whether I would visit the US as a holiday destination. As I said this could happen anywhere. Look at Syria, Egypt and 50 other countries in the world where people kill people indiscriminately on a daily basis.
I believe humanity has a sickness that is not going away anytime soon, lets hope the next generation can do better and get along with their fellow man whatever the colour of their skin or religious leanings.

As a fellow baseball player, I just donated to the Christopher Lane foundation and it felt good to do so. I don't have much money but I hope it helps just a little bit.

That argument doesn't hold any water. There were multiple threads about the black man that shot a white boy under similar circumstances... with the exception that the white boy didn't touch the black man, let alone beat him.

Very little real press on this apart from the odd mention on the BBC here in the UK but you get the firm idea that its being media downplayed as a possible racial attack. It has to be decided if the 3 persons were acting racially or this was a random choice for the pass by shooting.

Its clear race was an issue with the boys, at least strongly with 2 of them and it could well be that with the Trayvon case still lingering that IT would be a spur to pick on the 'cracker' but its impossible to be sure.

I doubt at least two of the 3 thugs will admit that..

Aside from that it worries me that Obama and Holder might be behind down playing this in the same way they stepped in to attack Zimmerman, rumours of Obama's apparent dislike of whites may be an issue IF its true but at the moment its merely rumour and should be taken as such.

Certainly Obama and Holder are meddling in these things for political / support profit while a poor man has been killed by a now common disgusting trait of gang drive by shootings, perhap's Mr Obama and holder might better being seen as clearing up the gang situation instead of relying on it for partial support.

I hope nobody is STUPID enough to buy into all this racism( black against white this time along with the elderly man beaten by two black teens in Washington). The media is pushing this angle because the real powers, the puppeteers, want us at each others throats. We get mad and afraid, turn against one another and then the feds get to come in and restore order, disarm everybody and impose new laws limiting even more personal freedoms.
What this IS about is getting firearms and having the right to defend yourself. The feds can go pound sand, the bastages. They failed big time pushing race wars with trayvon martin, don't let them change tactics and win by targeting a new demographic.
Obama is a royal crew up, so is Eric Holder. We have morons in DC and we need to begin to IGNORE THEM and work things out by ourselves. We the people have the answers and we don't need DC causing us trouble and making problems worse or creating new ones.
The media and Hollywood are on their side so we're pretty much alone in this. But we still WAY outnumber them.
