Me, and my avatar, are kind of out of place here among all the dark ones. But I have always tried to keep a positive attitude and I absolutely love cats. You can see the motto i try to live by in my sig line and also there is a link to my personal website in the sig line. The smugly smiling kitty in my avatar fits me to a T.

Personally, I find it rather vain and perhaps a little narcissistic that you've decided to use your picture for an avatar. Sure, you're quite fetching and everything, but one has to wonder about the attention-seeking aspect of what you've chosen; if you were super homely looking, I doubt you'd use your picture as an avatar. So basically you're just saying, "Hey ATS, look at me! Look at how beautiful I am!", which is fine, nothing wrong with being proud of who you are. It just seems, like I said, a bit vain. Perhaps I'd be more understanding if this were match.com or something, but it's not.

I mean, I'm quite handsome myself (you'll just have to take my word for it ;-), but I've never really felt the need to flaunt my looks on the interwebs, especially not on ATS, which is geared towards (though I sometimes wonder) intellectual discussion, and I'd hate to think my avatar was drawing away from that. Of course, I suppose one could make the argument that my screen name is the absolute height of narcissistic egotism, and then they'd say something about glass-houses and rock throwing, at which point I'd have no choice but to tacitly agree with that argument and realize I was probably being unnecessarily petty and hypocritically didactic.

In any case, from what little I've read of your posts, you seem to be pretty level-headed, thoughtful and kind, which I've found to be somewhat rare in very attractive women, as they often choose to coast on looks alone and don't take the time to develop interesting personalities, so kudos on that. Actually, looking back on what I wrote, I suppose one could think of this whole post as a somewhat long-winded but indirect compliment, which definitely wasn't my intention when I started this... Damn your feminine wiles!

Well they have come out to say "i have nothing to hide this is me and even if I'm a bit gorgeous and seek attention, that is me" at least theres truth and openness in it.

you are judging the person and thats a little unfair.

Well, mine is a quick painting I did of gizmo, who doesn't love gizmo? He is a standup dude. Even when he was outnumbered and scared, he still tried to do the right thing. The added text, well it's an opinion after seeing the same old extreme left right BS here around the last presidential election.

Nice thread Biigs and some interesting stories. Good insight into the members.

As a hardcore Sci-Fi fan I love Roger Zelazny books about Amber. I modified a section from an old book cover "Prince of Chaos." Suits my internet mood mostly.

Also it was the only pic I resized to fit and pretty much haven't worked on another yet.

My most common tag online is the name of a poster of a comment in a PnP source book. Used the name for many many years but my avatar is a conceptual picture of that same poster I found in an image search much later.

I stumbled on the BTS Avatar Creations thread just prior to the layout changeover, and since I was already considering changing my avatar for the Big Change, I requested one to be made if anyone was interested. I love steampunk, artistic astronomy/sky depictions, & I'm a redhead & thus asked for a redhead, so I asked for the 3 to be combined in an avatar, if possible. A very talented user by the name of Sublimecraft whipped up my Steampunk Redhead, and I just love her, she rocks :thumbs up:

Well mine is a female Vulcan from Star Trek Online.
Which says 2 things about me...
a)I'm a female
b)I'm a Trekkie

LOL, I recognized her right away, she was once the featured art on the launcher. And the poor artist now has to attempt to live down that it was a buxom phaser-wielding Vulcan with her jacket unzipped a ways to show off the cleavage. The game's forum posters nicknamed her S'Ohot, and another word for boobs, with an apostrophe between the "T" and "I". It was also surmised that she was involved with iconic game art image, Hunky Phaser Guy.

Ooh, I can help with that! You can absolutely take a screen shot in the game, the default setting for it is the "print screen" (or "PrtSc") key on keyboards, assuming you have it on yours. Fun fact that took forever for me to figure out was that you can also change the resolution of it in the chat box, too. Type /renderscale 2 in the chat, exactly like that, backslash, all one word, and a space between it & the number. The default is /renderscale 1, so you'll want to remember to reset it to that after you press PrtSc. Otherwise, it bogs down the machine too much to keep that resolution in game. and I don't recommend /renderscale 3, it crashes me out to desktop (too demanding for lower end machines) I've cropped screenshots in the default resolution, and in the /renderscale 2, and the difference in crops is like night & day. The default isn't all that nice looking after you trim it down.

Now, to get to the screenshots folder your screenshots are auto-saved to, you'll want to go to the Cryptic Studios folder, then in Star Trek Online, then Live, & the Screenshots folder is right there.

You can also open PAINT and click on PASTE and work on your picture there then SAVE AS which gives you a bunch of options as to which format to save it in. The best for uploading is the JPEG format.

My avatar is a southpark character from a page where you can make your own. You can add certain things and it's not something you spend a lot of time on but I thought the halo and the crazy knife was an interesting combination with the insanely smug grin.

While not near as short and dumpy, I do somewhat resemble that... especially the insane smug grin.

I'm not smug though some assume I am. I may be a tad insane though, but not so insane that I am not aware.

I made it years ago but ran across it again. Oddly, I also found that my yahoo avatar looks a lot like me but in a different and disgruntled way than the southpark pic. I've also been told I look like an anime character.

Figures that no one takes any of my dilemmas as real or thinks that I actually feel any hardship or that I would actually have feelings about being bossed around, taken advantage of or disrespected. I'M A CARTOON CHARACTER, LOL!.

Mine is of my soon to be ten year old border collie that I have had since he was six weeks old and goes everywhere with me.
When I first got him, I asked on a forum what to call him and an Irish girl said because he is black and white, why not call him Guinness. So we did and the name stuck.

Mine is mock up of a real UFO sighting I saw 33 years ago.

That sight changed my life forever, led me to ATS, and gave me proof that there is so much more to this world than we are led to believe.

Next to Peel Tower, in Ramsbottom, Lancashire, UK, I thought I'd share it with you.

My avatars change most of the time because I like to make them from scratch , but mostly it's something like Space and planets or spacecrafts and Art, SF kind of avatar .
I'm very intrigued about everything that's related to UFO's Science and spiritual things..
So I think most of my Avatars will look this way...

The flag you see was the personal battle flag of someone who was smart, honorable, anti slavery, pro rights...the type of person people trusted to run westpoint, fight and win the first battle and others of a major war, oversee the integrity of a state lottery, or build a railroad.

After this has been my AV for years, I discovered that the cross is a navigation and building instrument...NOT a religious icon - thats just bull to hide the real use of the cross...and the intent of the keepers of this knowledge...
Which is evident when you look at the cross stars and pyramid on that flag.

Its owner was asked to lead the Egyptian Army after the civil war was done.

I have had some flaq from certain members over it ( from northerners no less ) but being a dulie I have the right to use either /or/and...
they of course have NO IDEA what that flag actually means

fly it proudly

PS
It also has my fathers name on it

Personally I picked through photos & persuaded myself to paste a picture of me and my dog Ghost!!!

I figured if the Secret Service already know who is typing all the outlandish opinions I choose to poetically, punctuate & post...
Then why shouldn't the perfect people within our passionate ATS family know who it is as well!!!

Peace! :p
