I have a slightly long post after this reply so I'll save space and combine them. I'm a thrifty kind of guy that way.
You can change you avvy if you like but there's something about a pretty face that just stuns me. I've sat and looked at pics like yours sometimes for
way too long. If it were in real life I might be considered a stalker, but it's not so I can get away with it. I'll sit here watching the tele or
whatever, taking my time reading ATS and I've found myself seriously spacing out on a pretty lady in an avater. There's the redhead druidic/Irish
chick(can't remember her nick but she's around here with her and the dog in her pic) and she drives me nuts.
I'm easily stunned, so it seems, by pretty ladies.
Ok, now for the real meat.
So, since you asked.......
When I joined I had a pic of the singer, bassist and drummer from the band Flying Colors. Basically, just a cool band and a symbol of how much I love
rock n roll and the influence music has had in my life, being a (failed) musician and all.
But I had to change it, you see. It just wasn't enough. Now you may have seen the slogan WWJD. Me not being a religious person, I don't subscribe to
that particular slogan, mine is WWDD. As in, what would Dio do. He passed a couple of years ago and it's a small way of giving tribute to a a five
foot two legend with a voice larger than life and, from all accounts, a heart even bigger. Even his so-so music is better than most bands best stuff.
So, I get the love of music, it's influence on me, a musical legend, a cool slogan AND DEVIL'S HORNS!!!!!!!
HORNS UP, MOFO'S!!!!!!
Or, I could have just said it's freakin' Ronnie James Dio, DUDE!! 'Nuff said, but I'm a verbose kind of guy and really couldn't let it be that simple.
Just check out my recent post in the Black Sabbath thread, verbosity at it's finest, or worst, depending on your perspective.
Recorded music is a great thing, as Dio will live on as long as the music is there. I've been listening to the dude's bands Elf, Rainbow, Sabbath, Dio
and Heaven and Hell for well over thirty years now and it still excites me and the dungeons and dragons lyrical themes he is famous for spawned a
whole genre of metal.
To sum up, I love pretty ladies and rock n roll. If I had a penchant for blowing things up I would be a true red-blooded American but that manly stuff
was never my gig. As Dio said lo these many years ago, Long Live Rock And Roll!!!
ETA: Yo, BFFT, if you are a Texan, what's the deal with the Sooners garb? Correct me if I'm wrong but Oklahoma and Texas don't really play well
together in the sandbox so it seems you have something a little odd a going on there. The explanation probably makes sense not unlike my reasons for
liking teams that are nowhere close to where I grew up and became a sports fan, as my hometown is Las Vegas and there are NO pro teams here so I had
to choose from elsewhere. I still support my Runnin' Rebels hoops, though. The night they won the championship in 1990 was one of my most memorable
nights ever. The whole town was partying, literally. Ah, memories. Shows I'm gettin gold LOL!

mine if I don't?
