Probably the greatest song of all time.

Now that's a tough one. So many to choose from that I'd love to hold up as The One. Really though? I think this one is the final winner for me. It was top of the charts at a pivotal time in the future of our World. The right mix of introspection and celebration for how everything in life as we'd all known it....simply changed overnight.

Oh and btw, The Darkness are not so much of a one-hit-wonder. They are still releasing songs and are doing ok in the rock scene, just thought I'd let you know Op in-case your interested.

I'm going to have to go with one of my all time favorite songs Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve. In case any of you don't remember, there was a legal controversy with The Rolling Stones who ultimately received all royalties for the song.

I actually met this band (Nada Surf). I worked for a stagehand union, SLC Local 99. Me and a few friends from work were backstage at a local annual concert called the Big Ass Show. Nada Surf saw us talking to some of the other acts there and offered us an autographed postcard. My friend, who is something of a guitar virtuoso, lit it on fire right in front of them.

Later, after the show, they were coming off a tour bus and we approached them and apologized. My friend asked them about their guitar skills, and they said they had never learned to read music or play guitar - they just started a band because they thought it would be fun. So we hung out and my friend played their guitar and showed them a few things. =]



Too bad The Refreshments only really had one hit, they were a great band.
