To each their own I suppose... I've read the satanic bible, and most of Crowley's library as well...

Both were very intelligent men, Crowley was brilliant! Though both were quite deceptive...

I've never believed in "the devil" but after reading some of their material I questioned the idea...

It's funny how these people like Crowley have become this weird Satanist. When he probably was a completely different person. I'm just grasping at straws. But a lot of people like to paint the picture in their own way. I doubt there is a devil or a Satan out there. Like how the Church of Satan doesn't believe in Satan.

Sorry, these were quotes of pictures someone made on Facebook years back. I copied the quotes from websites that have numerous quotes by numerous people. I want to also find out where these quotes come from and what Buddha was referring to with these quotes.

Oh, ok.

I currently own several books about Buddhism. I'll browse through them and see if the quotes can be found within them.

While not technically a quote by "God," i still find this one of the more powerful verses from the Old Testament. It comes from the book of Ecclesiastes, whose author is still debated to this day.

"Better is a handful with quietness than two hands full with much toil and chasing after wind." - Ecclesiastes 4:6

In this case the author is irrelevant, it's the saying that counts. Good share.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

“Do you love your creator Love your fellow-beings first.”

“It is your own conduct which will lead you to reward or punishment, as if you had been destined therefor.”

"It is not a sixth or a tenth of a man's devotion which is acceptable to God, but only such portions thereof as he offereth with understanding and true devotional spirit."

"To acquire knowledge is binding upon all Muslims, whether male or female"

"Keep yourselves far from envy, because it eats up and takes away good actions, like the fire that eats up and burns wood."

"One who does not practice modesty and does not refrain from shameless deeds is not a Muslim."

"Whoever loves to meet God, God loves to meet him."

“The duty of a junior to a senior brother is as that of a child to its father.”

“The proud will not enter Paradise, nor a violent speaker.”

“It was said to the Rasul, 'O Messenger of God Curse the infidels.' Muhammad said, 'I am not sent for this nor was I sent but as mercy to mankind.'”

(13:9) He knows both what is hidden and what is manifest. He is the Supreme One, the Most High.
(13:10) It is all the same for Him whether any of you says a thing secretly, or says it loudly, and whether one hides oneself in the darkness of night, or struts about in broad daylight.
(13:11) There are guardians over everyone, both before him and behind him, who guard him by Allah's command. Verily Allah does not change a people's condition unless they change their inner selves. And when Allah decides to make a people suffer punishment, no one can avert it. Nor can any be of help to such a people against Allah.

Here is the first part of Thunder: Perfect Mind

I was sent forth from the power,
and I have come to those who reflect upon me,
and I have been found among those who seek after me.

Look upon me, you who reflect upon me,
and you hearers, hear me.
You who are waiting for me, take me to yourselves.

And do not banish me from your sight.
And do not make your voice hate me, nor your hearing.
Do not be ignorant of me anywhere or any time. Be on your guard!
Do not be ignorant of me.

For I am the first and the last.
I am the honored one and the scorned one.
I am the whore and the holy one.

I am the wife and the virgin.
I am and the daughter.
I am the members of my mother.

I am the barren one
and many are her sons.
I am she whose wedding is great,
and I have not taken a husband.

I am the midwife and she who does not bear.
I am the solace of my labor pains.
I am the bride and the bridegroom,

and it is my husband who begot me.
I am the mother of my father
and the sister of my husband

and he is my offspring.
I am the slave of him who prepared me.
I am the ruler of my offspring.
But he is the one who begot me before the time on a birthday.

And he is my offspring in (due) time,
and my power is from him.
I am the staff of his power in his youth,

and he is the rod of my old age.
And whatever he wills happens to me.
I am the silence that is incomprehensible

and the idea whose remembrance is frequent.
I am the voice whose sound is manifold
and the word whose appearance is multiple.
I am the utterance of my name.

Why, you who hate me, do you love me,
and hate those who love me?
You who deny me, confess me,

and you who confess me, deny me.
You who tell the truth about me, lie about me,
and you who have lied about me, tell the truth about me.

You who know me, be ignorant of me,
and those who have not known me, let them know me.
For I am knowledge and ignorance.
I am shame and boldness.

I am shameless; I am ashamed.
I am strength and I am fear.
I am war and peace.

Give heed to me.

I am the one who is disgraced and the great one.
Give heed to my poverty and my wealth.
Do not be arrogant to me when I am cast out upon the earth,

and you will find me in those that are to come.
And do not look upon me on the dung-heap
nor go and leave me cast out,

and you will find me in the kingdoms.
And do not look upon me when I am cast out among those who
are disgraced and in the least places,
nor laugh at me.

And do not cast me out among those who are slain in violence.

But I, I am compassionate and I am cruel.
Be on your guard!

It's a little out of context but aren't the best quotes always that way?

"I will knock down the Gates of the Netherworld,
I will smash the door posts, and leave the doors flat down,
and will let the dead go up to eat the living!
And the dead will outnumber the living!"

- Ishtar -

I hope I'm already dead when that prophecy comes to pass, I don't like zombies
Thanks for sharing.

Hah! Yeah, it's actually not much of a prophecy as I took it waaaay out of context. This was the middle of an exchange she was having and she was threatening the other with a zombie apocalypse. It wasn't a prophetic promise to humanity but it still ups her cool factor just by virtue of being a goddess who threatens to "let the dead go up to eat the living!"

It is not God’s function to create, or uncreate, the circumstances or conditions of your life.
God created you, in the image and likeness of God. You have created the rest, through the
power God has given you. God created the process of life and life itself as you know it. Yet
God gave you free choice, to do with life as you will. In this sense, your will for you is God’s will for you.
You are living your life the way you are living your life, and I have no preference in the
matter.

This is the grand illusion in which you have engaged:
that God cares one way or the other what you do.

In other words, we have the power and we should use it. This is a quote from "Conversations with God", page 13.

LOL, I guess we'll have to accept hearsay for this one.

You would have to apply that logic to every historical figure, if that's the rationale. How to you really know that anybody said anything except by people attributing words of others?

Did you personally hear Einstein speak? Then everything they say he said is only "attributed" to him.
