OK I've watched the whole of Heseltine's video now and it certainly brings together the timeline.

Just a few scattered observations after seeing it:

  1. Probably worth reading up on this case first if you are a beginner. Heseltine's is a more in depth look for those who are already familiar with Rendlesham/Bentwaters case.
  2. He does a good job of setting the scene of the times and going through the timeline and presenting the case as any good detective would. Although he tended to mispell quite a few words on those slides. But I guess he's a one man team and that's a minor point anyway and rather pedantic.
  3. Amazing that he was disciplined for asking about UFOs with other police forces!
  4. His point of view is definitely this points to non-terrestrial intervention and investigation of nuclear weapons. Which is a possible theory but not necessarily any more correct than others.
  5. I don't think there was much he covered that I wasn't already aware of and I still don't think there is one good all encompassing theory to explain Rendlesham. There are still many questions in my mind.

At no point have we ever been told if the base was put on alert or if fighters/choppers were requested on the night Halt was traipsing round the woods. If not then we have to ask why not?

I put a question to Nick Pope about this when he was on ATS Live. He sort of side stepped this by referring to the paper trail and stating that General Gabriel visited and took evidence away from Bentwaters in the days after the incident. He hinted that the UFO community should go follow this line of enquiry. Suggesting that there is a lot of evidence being kept under wraps by the USAF. Nick stated at present this is where the trail runs cold. So does that mean he's never tried or tried and failed to get at this evidence?

Then there is the question of foreign (albeit friendly) troops roaming around in uniform off base in UK sovereign territory. If there was a defensive reason such as Soviet paratroops landing then I assume as part of NATO forces they would defend the UK without the need for international protocols. Night one was possibly an air crash so perhaps that can be explained easily as common sense.

But who gave Halt and others permission to go out into the forest to investigate? As far as I understand it this should have been the responsibility of the British police. Unless of course the USAF considered investigating a UFO of defence significance. Something the UK MoD, at least publicly, did not.

The earlier Berwyn Mountains case in 1974 took place the night of a meteor falling to earth, there was a military exercise out in the Irish Sea and yet the alleged craft crashing/landing was also explained away as a non-event.

I am beginning to think that the celestial events, contradictory witness testimony and rather odd chain of events are actually part of a much weirder story than simply ET popping in to scan the base.
