1. Snowden informed the United States populace of spying. If he told us what we already know, he didn't do anything wrong.

Broken record yeah well that non disclosure agreement says otherwise.

2. He ran to China and Russia because he knew the government would be after him. If he didn't do anything against the government, they wouldn't be after him.

Yes he did run to foreign governments for a 'safe haven' and exposed sensitive material.

3. Snowden supporters are people that believe spying is wrong and that this person did a service to the country by informing us of what the government was doing. If we already knew the details, he wouldn't be important.

Had he done a 'service' to the people of this country he would be right here right now.

You aren't making sense because you are saying that Snowden either did or didn't do something wrong. He either gave away secrets or didn't give away anything. Your posts are unintelligible at worst and contradictory at best. You claim people are making too big of a deal about him.. in a thread you have made to create a bigger deal out of him. I just don't understand your motivations and you simply refuse to elaborate on your position in any meaningful way and simply insist that you already have done so and quote bits of previous posts that aren't even complete thoughts or sentences.

Running and exposing 'secret's' to foreign government's that is not going to change a damn thing is doing nothing in my book,

Nothing he did helps the people of this country in any way, shape,or form.

Don't hold people who run to other countries in 'high regard' never will.

CSPAN? What do you expect to happen there?

Things like congressional hearings happen there.

Yeah the 'cognitive dissonance' is deafening in this thread.

America bad for spying, runs to two of the largest spies in the world.

We done here?

I AM MAD BECAUSE AMERICA IS SPYING ON ITS OWN CITIZENS!

This man told me how it was happening and then he bailed on this country because he saw what happened to Bradley Manning. He left because the government he ratted on is after him. Who gives a # if China or Russia is spying on me? I expect that to happen, and I expect my government to stop them, NOT TO SPY ON ME TOO!

What part of this is hard for you to understand? Seriously. What part are you really having a hard time with. The only response you need to type are the numbers next to what you don't understand.

1. US spying on citizens = Bad.
2. Man tells me US government is spying on me = Good.
3. Man flees US because government is after him = Smart.

Elmer Fudd say "OK, " and pulls the trigger.

Do you want the american government to continue spying on its citizens? Simple yes or no is sufficient.

I understand that you are voicing an opinion. I understand that your opinions are often formulated out of fear. I understand that your opinions are routinely based on party lines promoting a GOP position, and that you are strongly ingrained in the Two-Party system of our country. I understand that you are a patriot, and that your opinion here is that of a fatalist. Democracy seems to be dead in your opinion. I understand that your opinion is that nothing anyone does can change the status quo, and yet you refuse to relinquish your hold on the government that got us here.

Does that about sum it up?

Not a damn thing is going to change the status quo not Snowden, not some thread on ATS saying how dreamy Snodwen is.

Respectfully disagree with this statement. The people's perception has, if only at least temporarily been changed.

Provocative and interesting thread!
SnF

ETA The realist in me says you are correct. No real change will probably come from this, in the end. Unfortunately.

If people like you kicked up a stink and started mass protests and campaigns maybe something would change!

Get off the Internet and start some action!
