Then do clarify. Not enough clarification goes into these things.

Good thing weve got such a helpful person like you here to take care of that for us.

I'm starting to believe that there IS free-will after all and that free-will comes from FOCUS.

Awareness DOES Focus.

Think about it.

You can just relax and observe your mind letting thoughts run through (sub-conscious) OR, you can FOCUS on a particular thought and allow thoughts of a similar nature to come into your mind.

Through observation an image of a cat may come and leave my mind, but with awareness I can hold FOCUS and get more images of cats and the longer one focuses on something, the greater the build up of those about that subject until one changes focus.

This focus will eventually affect the sub-conscious and after a while - when you "observe thoughts" you'll see the type of thoughts has slightly changed, and so has one's Core Out Look on life.

Please stop attacking me, and focus upon the ideas I have presented in response to your own.

Seems to me your response to this thread was an attack because of an ongoing history.

Oh yeah. Good point. I can tell by the superiority of the tone of your words alone that I should do just that. No need to clarify your point here. got ya. thanks for your clarification.

*sigh* What you interpret as a "superior tone" is my attempting to keep the essence of my message simple due to the fact that I was on my phone at the time. Obviously, all of my actions should revolve around your desires. I do apologize for not recognizing this sooner.

On the other hand, you could let a little wind out of your sails and realize that, once again, you are demonstrating hypocrisy in relation to the ideas portrayed in your OP.

Although, if I may...where is your evidence for what you claim to be true? Besides subjective experience that only you can analyze to any significant degree. All I see is you making claims and explaining them as if they were fact, as though your audience already believes what you are telling them and you're just fleshing it out for them.

Being that, in a mirror, you see that which can be seen trillions of different ways, how do you believe the sight you see is the true representation of that object? Therefore, even looking in a mirror, the self is not seen. Only a subjective interpretation.

The image in the mirror is seen, it is scenery. What is it that is seeing?
The seer can not be seen ever. It cannot be seen because it is seeing.

Maybe you didn't read closely enough. I love how people describe our awesome potential while at the same time using none of it. The best proof is demonstration.

No it read it perfectly fine. You basically discredited his post in one line without going into any specifics, them told him to take a hike.

You do realize that a Philosophy forum is the intended place to describe such a thing?

Is that what I said or is that how you interpreted it? I questioned his premise, I didn't dismiss it. Also I edited my post if you want to look at it again.

If that doesn't make sense to you - I have posted a video a few posts above this post that shows you how you are not what is seen in the mirror.

With all of this awesome potential, what are you doing on a conspiracy forum? Go invent a new color or write a song unlike any ever heard on Earth before.

The first part is a logical fallacy, the existance of the described potential, and being on a conspiracy forum do not rule each other out.

He is basically saying that you can create your own experience, it has nothing to do with providing proof for you, in the form of a new color.

Your whole comment is invalid and obviously a sarcastic snear.

I am sorry that you feel that way. I was offering an honest suggestion. It is unfortunate that you do not appreciate alternative opinions on an open forum.

As pointed out, the problem was that your argument was invalid, not that it was an alternative opinion.

My argument was invalid? I asked why he was spending his awesome potential In such a comparatively Fruitless manner. One does not generally squander a billion dollars on junk food

I explained to you why it is invalid.

He wasn't talking about Superpowers, and even if he was, he is just sharing his philosophy, and it doesn't require answering invalid questions.

I don't think it is up to you tell me my question is invalid. I may as well tell you that your opinion is invalid. But I won't because I value your input even if you don't value mine.

It is not about opinion.

Your question is simply not a valid argument. The fact that he is here has nothing to do with the philosophy he shared.

It wasn't an argument. It was a question. And it wasn't directed to you so I don't see why you are objecting to it.

If you are just going to badger me over the questions I ask him whether they are valid then i don't see the point in discussing this with you any further. This has gone far enough off topic.

I thought it was an open forum?

It was a question used as an argument to discredit the op.

I am questioning the validity of that particular argument.

I am just as on topic as your question is.
