I do believe you are on to something with that. When the hubby and I went to vote during the 2012 presidential election we were definitely the youngest people in the whole place- and I am 46. It might be different if people thought their votes actually counted for something, as that is the reason I have heard most often for current voter apathy- most people believe their votes don't matter. In countries that do not have an Electoral system it seems more folks turn out to vote as popular vote wins- unlike the US where you can win the popular vote and still not win the election. The current election system in place is damn screwy!

And that's a good well-thought plan - investigate the planet. That's why, if such a scenario actually happened to occur (however highly unlikely, I know!), then one would want such a device to fall into the correct hands, not in the hands of some low-life.

But it would indeed be quite an exciting adventure into a new world!
