Lately I've gotten away from posting much of anything at all. I do still log in when I see fit, but this article in the Washington Post got my attention...

While I know it's always wise to take these hot topic headlines with a grain of salt, instictively with this I got a feeling this need to be posted so the real people could chime in.
Twice I Did a Search and came up with nada....again this current search engine is there a trick??

I know my ATS friends will have some input to put my mind as ease.

Have a Good day! and to the moms Happy Mothers Day!

Rand Paul: Obama is working with ‘anti-American globalists plot[ting] against our Constitution.’

The New York Times calls Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) one of the Republican Party’s “rising stars.” The Daily Beast says he’s “a smoother, more pragmatic political operator” than his father, former congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Tex.). All that seems true. So riddle me this: What’s the upside for Paul to put his name on e-mails like this one, which landed in my inbox this morning?

It’s one thing for no-name pols to work on the fringes. But Paul, at this point, has a lot to lose. Yet here he is, suggesting the current president of the United States is working with “anti-American globalists plot[ting] against our Constitution.” And for what?

Here’s the whole e-mail. It’s on behalf of the National Association on Gun Rights, and it leads you to this Paul-centric splash page.

Dear fellow Patriot,

Gun-grabbers around the globe believe they have it made.

You see, only hours after re-election, Barack Obama immediately made a move for gun control…

On November 7th, his administration gleefully voted at the UN for a renewed effort to pass the “Small Arms Treaty.”

But after the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut — and anti-gun hysteria in the

If this is true it begs the question, why is it always that sooner or later when the Republican party has so called "rising stars" (Rubio, Christy, Cruz and now Paul) they always seem to shoot them selves in the political foot.??.

Many screamed he sold out during the last election cycle...However if you can not get through the door it is hard to rearrange the furniture. I heard one commentator say with the new rules enacted by the GOP Regan would not have been able to be elected...So win or lose votes I am glad there are a few who will still go against the grain once in office.

He may be using this as a "attention getter". More and more people are beginning to have a deep distrust of government and this could be his way of saying, "Hey, I'm on your side". People are looking to lay blame for failed policies, no jobs, bad economy, the list is long and Obama has failed at every turn. Or has he? Depends on what the real plan is.

To me anyone who wants to outsource jobs, and pay domestic jobs below a living wage is contributing the globalism. Certainly a lot of individuals in both parties fall under that category. There are a lot of pro outsourcing democrats, Hillary Clinton comes to mind. Also right now as we speak the republicans are trying to get rid of overtime pay. If both parties have anything in common, it seems to be that they hate the American worker.

A certain The Who song comes to mind...

It is going to be interesting to see what happens when the GOP takes the executive and legislative branches again how many people will defend the very same practices that are decried today just because "their guys" are in power. The GOP supporters aren't the only guilty party either.

Until We The People get on the same page we are doomed to watch more wars and bloodshed, more chipping away of rights and more destruction of our Constitution/BoR. Until We The People quit calling each other names, like Liberal Commie Pinko or Conservative Fascist Pig we will continue on this road.

As far as I'm concerned, for him to even make statements like that just shows what a nut job he is.

It's about the same thing as Michele Bachman's call for some king of survey to "out" those in Congress with "anti-American" views, (which IMO, would place her first on the list) or Alan West saying that 78 to 81 House Democrats are "card carrying Marxists."

The guy has a loose screw upstairs, just like Michele Bachman, Alan West, Louie Gohmert, Sarah Palin, Todd Akin, Mark Sanford, Carl Palidino, Jim DeMint, Rick Perry, Sharon Angle, Orly Taitz...

Nuts...just plain nuts.

Rand Paul is the last hope both for the republicans and for the nation of USA.

I do not mean this lightly at all!

I just hope we can survive these 3 demonic years ahead of us without some major catastrophe.

Some of the posts in this thread are beyond naive and totally insane. It seems their party can do nothing wrong, even if they have proven themselves to be complete sellouts.

(the person above me is a classic example)

Oh I'm sure you forgot a couple of dozen or so more names on that list

Lou Dobbs
Michelle Malkin
Glenn Beck
Eric Cantor
Ted Cruz
Sean Hannity
Alex Jones
Charles Krauthammer

But seriously this is why Republicans will have a difficult time getting back into the White House. Not everyone in this country believes that Obama is a Kenyan Muslim that is hell bent on fundamentally transforming the United States into a Socialist/Fascist utopia!

Ain't it sad? Their best hope is a guy that attached a Fetal Personhood amendment to a Flood insurance bill

But remember they all pretend to hate big government, unless it benefits their agenda.

Both of the mainstream parties suck and I wish "a third party" would get that magic 5% to get into office, but short of that then we have to focus on the candidates themselves, such as who means well and can stop this out of control train wreck.

Dennis Kucinich is someone who means business in the democrat party, but unlike Rand Paul he does not seem interested in running for president. Probably cause he realises the herculean obstacles that lie ahead and would rather not bother.

You don't realise the difference between mainstream conservatives and tea baggers? Really? Do you pay any attention to politics, other than what the globalist shill obama says?

What about Occupy? Do you think they are democrats?

Please tell us what you know about politics, other than insulting good people.

Rand Paul could definitely be a rising star but he seems to be traveling down the path his father did. The republicans need someone very mainstream who is putting forth conservative ideas and distancing themselves from the GOP stigman.

Remember when Eisenhower ran the GOP was in such bad shape that he forbid the use of the words republican or GOP anywhere in his campaign. The connotation with the party was that bad at the time.

Instead he ran on a simple conservative platform in direct contrast to his opponent. This is what Rand Paul, or any other republican needs to do who wishes to have a shot at the WH.

His father believed in standing up for what he believed was right and to hell with everything else but that simply is not a good philosophy in politics. You will NEVER get things your way so you need to focus on small steps and this is where Rand Paul is currently screwing up.

He is calling out the President on these large issues and putting him on the spot without trying to convince people to simply start down a different path. He wants complete change all in one package and it will never happen so he will keep preaching and eventually be labeled an outside whack job like his father was.

Rubio had a better plan by actually putting up reasonable legislation, unfortunately it was totally against conservative principles so it pretty much hurt him with the voters and blew any chance he has of being the next rising star.

Politics is a very tricky business and needs to be played just right. One inch at a time.

He isn't one of the "good people". The man is a tea bagger plain and simple. He might have fooled a lot of people with his filibuster against the use of drones, but then he flip flopped and admitted that he supported the use of drones on American soil.

True conservatives also do not attach fetal personhood amendments to flood insurance bills.
