Whether one likes it or not, whether one believes it or not - life is an interdependent whole.

Life does not exist on its own; a being cannot exist on it's own. It depends on other life to exist, whether for food or otherwise.

Where there is pride and conceit, we lose sight of this fact.

And where there is pride and conceit - there is the cancer.

Those with this sort of selfish view, who have no regard for the well being of others, and the well being of the whole (body of society) - he is a cancer because he is a detriment to the body as a whole.

Not all of us. I applaud your position on this thread.

The 'anti-human' cause goes back a long way and has worn many masks.

I suggest some here go away and read 'Merchants of Despair' by Robert Zubrin. Its enlightening.

Wanting to look after our ecosystem is sensible, much in the same way it pays not to set your life boat on fire.

However this sensible idea has been deliberately perverted. We are a long way from having more people than the planet can stand. Its not about the numbers. Its about what those numbers are doing.

Who is responsible for the fact we in the west didn't transition fully to nuclear power from the 1960s onward (which doesn't pollute the atmosphere with contaminants and large amounts of C02)? Its not the greedy capitalists....

The green lobby are for the most part well meaning idiots servicing an agenda they don't understand.

there is a massive problem with over population.

I see it in my own country where I live.

The population has grown by 10 million in 15 years - immigrants and their off spring fleeing areas of the world that can no longer sustain them.

Now we are going to have free medical care taken away, the roads are grid locked, low pay is de rigour etc etc .

Tell the elephants, tigers, deer, great apes that humans are not murdering them due to over population.

Check out the water supplies and future wars that are likely to be caused by shortages.

It is very very very ignorant to stick your head in the sand.

[facepalm]. People from poorer nations coming to the UK to take advantage of our stupidity has got nothing to do with global over-population.

It has everything to do with the normal human desire to better themselves and the fact we in the UK have been governed by a succession of half wits for nearly 2 decades. If you leave the door open you cant blame people from availing themselves of it.

WE, the normal everyday human, does not control economy. It's the corporations and the Elite. THEY are the cancer, not US. Would we have the choice, we would respect nature around us. WE will make sure our economy and way of life didn't conflicted with the environment.

I could go on and on but you have to intellectually challenged or intellectually dishonest to see humans as not as a cancer on this planet.

Was that an insult? I challenge the Elite's desire to put all of us to death under the pretense that we're nothing but cancer, and you call me and those who agrees with me of intellectually challenged?

People are starving in various countries because they live in deserts (see Sam Kinison) or because their fellow countrymen are greedy, despotic animals who steal foreign aid or because there are just too damn many people for the land to sustain them.

We (or rather they) have the technology to build greenhouses specialised for the desert, where the plants could be protected from the sun (look at the flourishing city of Dubaï; they are in the desert); your second point is very accurate (remember Celine Dion when she gave 1 millions $ to Louisiana, and that Bush took it all?); and about your third point, that could be solved by two possibilities:
A): build towers (6000 towers the size of Freedom Tower or 4000 towers the size of Burj Khalifah across the Earth will be sufficient to house the world's population) and the available ground for food has increased by at least five times.
B): make gardens on top of the houses, in the backyard, and build greenhouses to grow more food without the risk of drought or flood killing them. Even making them underground or in deserted and sterile places, like ancient open-aired mines.

Both possibilities are possible; given the Elite actually cares about us to accomplish it. But that will be more trouble than just brainwashing everybody that we're a cancer and need to be eliminated.

Have they spread to multiple areas of their host and have multiplied in single spots until they grow exceptionally large destroying the surrounding environment?

Did they had another choice to live? All houses are horizontal, takes enormous places, nobody thinks about going in Nevada, or Northern Territories, and especially, nobody thinks about towers. If it would meant repairing the environment, would you agree to live in towers? Only 4000-6000 towers are needed. How many houses are there even in a small village? Don't you think that way, we wouldn't destroy our surroundings? That there'll be ample space for nature to repair and flourishes, plus ample space for our need of food? The solutions are there, but nobody sees it.

There's no such things as Gaian's enzymes, nor such things as Gaian's global New Age consciousness. In fact, the old religion that Mother Nature is the godess Gaia capable of punishing people is obsolete. Worshipping Gaia and embracing killing 6.5 billions people for her would make us come back to the Catholic Dark Ages, where millions were killed under the name of God.

Nature cannot punish us. Storms are created by cold and hot fronts hitting each other, and there's no Gaian global consciousness thoughts behind this scientifically observed phenomenon. Floods are created because this years there was more clouds, and more rain. Drought is because there was lack of clouds, and thus more sun and no water. No enzyme of wrath from a mystical Goddess involved. And beside, where's her targeting system???

Only the Elite will go to other planets. Do you really think they'll let medium and lower class off planet? Remember, we're a cancer to them, and colonizing new planets means no foreign cancer. So yes, they'll go on other planets, and what about the 80% that will be left on Earth? They'll let us rot and slowly die there. And, do you know what's the best part? They won't lend us technologies or money, 'cause they'll gonna need it to colonize.

Actually, going on other planets would solve the problem. Wanna know why? Once they find a couples of planets, and that we can travel as easily from one to another one that from London to Sydney, now they can put a limit on the population per planet, because when that limit is exceeded, we don't need to die or kill babies in the womb, but to just migrate to another planet. See the beauty of having actually many planets?

Fine. To my point of view, the Elite and the Corporations are the cancer, not us. They don't care about the well-being of our society. They don't care about others lower than themselves. Do you care? I do. You do. At least 10 members here seems to do. Then it would be logical to say that WE are not the cancer, and that the real cancer lays the blame on us, so that they can continue having their power and money. Are WE, normal humans, a cancer? Definitively no. Are THEY, greedy Elite and corporations, a cancer? Definitively yes. So why do WE get the blame and have to suffer the consequenses, such as extermination of 6.5 billions peoples, and people killed in the womb when judged unperfect?

Again, the whole population of humans fits in one city. The problem, is the inadequacy of housing and food providing. We wouldn't need concrete jungles with no animals or plants if we would build towers and people would actually lived there.
Okay, you wanna know how many towers the size of Freedom Tower it would take per countries? There's about 200 countries, and we need 6000 towers (100x100 meters wide, by the way). Let's do the math.... 6000 ÷ 200 gives.... 30 towers per countries.
30 towers!!! Per countries... And that was not separated between whose countries have more people than the other. So... let's say 5 in Switzerland, 50 in China and India.
Still, it would take less place than horizontal and individual houses! Which means... MORE plants and animals!! Means no concrete jungles. It would actually look like in the sci-fi movies, with just a couple of towers linked together with bridges, even recreation places, restaurants, shops, greenhouses, and all the rest is free land for animals and plants.

So see? No over-population. Just misuse of place, by the Elite. They prefer spending the money in petty wars and weaponry instead of bettering our life.
