Did anyone else hear on the scanner a few minutes ago that they were gonna "light up the boat" after "the light gets here" ?

Does that mean that after they get the spotlights, they'll attack with gunfire?

The downlink is the video, not the police scanner.

BBC reporting locals in Boston listening into Police scanners for updates on this situation. They just realised NOW how people are getting their information faster than they are!

No, that's not what it meant.

The light, or night sun, is a spotlight from a helicopter.

The "we'll light it up after the light gets here' refers to the helicopter not being there, and them waiting for it to get into position. It did a few passes, and is now on it's way to refuel.
