I have joined this site because my outrage of accusations of the dog sniffing ignorance. Coffee, pepper, mustard, and other "cloaking" smells do nothing to cloak the smell. Dogs smell how we see, in layers. They will smell a spot and think, coffee, sweat, chocolate, dirt, gatorade, ect, gunpowder..!!.. hey, there's gunpowder here. wax is the only thing not air permeable. which means a device inside a pressure cooker ect will leak the smell, a stronger scent the longer the scent has been in the container. And yes most dogs are going to hit on things with high scents because it has been trained to look for "cloaking" scents. and yes outside of wax, dogs are infallible with their noses. The handlers train hyper ball chase dogs with the scent(s) inside the ball, and reward the dog for jobs well done. So for a dog on the job this is playtime and reward time. In effect what I am saying is the devices were either placed after the dogs made rounds or the dog's hits were ignored.

That report has been refuted and it has been officially stated by every news organization, media outlet and conference to be "not true". Bomb squads found suspicious packages, and as standard procedure calls for, they blew them up. All have been officially declared "not connected to the attack" and "not weapon devices".

What report?
And any one link would show us... otherwise all that stuff you said about your real data is just that... stuff you said.
This is today...

And this is precedent for the type of device made from "pressure cookers". About :25 in...

And one being set off in Afghanistan:

I do not have a link to point you to, but the fact about no additional devices found was reported by multiple sources. Reuters, Fox News, local stations, etc

The reason I brought up the bomb being placed between a coffee shop and a fish store and if it would mask the smell was wondering if the bomb could have been dropped there and then watched from the lens crafter and the bomb placed just before the event was going to happen. If it did possibly hide the sent some one could have been watching that device and made a drop of the second bomb only minutes before they went off. The lens crafter blast seems to have no food or anything in the area that could mask smells.

And asking about the smell being masked by out side sources is a good way to find out if it could? I asked because I did not know. Those who refuse to ask will never learn!

the real reason behind incidents like these are seldom 'complex' but there is always a reason.

with no one claiming responsibility, the reason is less likely to be 'political' in the sense ppl are striving to make it.

this 'nudge' would be just that, a 'nudge'.

even if ppl are afraid to 'own' a pressure cooker, couldn't that be perceived as a success ??

From what I understand of what has been made public so far (and that is also stretching) this is as professional as it can be as far as materials and components go.
i'm curious where you've read such cause i'm reading the exact opposite.

heck, they used a salad strainer to fashion a centrifuge ... never underestimate the opponent.

That is a sky-blue request. If you are unable to follow the story and choose to challenge the countless reports explaining that other devices/bombs were not found beyond the two that detonated...then that is your issue and the poster shouldn't have to hunt down common knowledge for you.

I'm still not convinced this is a false flag attack. I do not see where additional rights will be infringed. If they start to talk about eliminating to right to public assembly, or additional attacks spring up in the next few days resulting in a state of emergency. I don't see it.

This was a charity event, there were runners from all over north america, and outside north america as well.

It stinks of home grown, and I'm really curious to see who is responsible.

You're thinking linearly. Think more globally. If this is pinned on a militia group, for instance, this will give TPTB an excuse to crackdown on everything militia: bombing making equipment that are harmless and common in their individual components, guns and ammo (extension of Sandy Hook, Aurora, et al), any military styled club or association, assembly in large groups for clubs or meetings or whatnot (You'll need a permit for that! And home churches around the country are already experiencing varied levels of harassment by local authorities for holding meetings in their homes), you right against warrantless searches could be further eroded (you're in public with a bag! We must make sure there are no weapons or explosives in there!! Public safety, y'know).

First: Not everything is a false flag...seriously.

Second: The ONLY thing the govt is good at is blowing stuff up. Oh...and wasting money. And red tape. Did I mention wasting money?

Ergo had this truly been a false flag there would have been many more casualties.

Paranoia is sometimes a healthy thing...but only sometimes. When it totally lacks any logic whatsoever then Occam's razor is the best philosophy to follow.

There is no need, nor desire for the govt to ban and confiscate our pressure cookers.

If this lead is solid...the bombs were placed after the second sweep for bombs about an hour before the first runner finished.

The perp. likely placed the bombs as close to detonation time as possible in order to avoid the bags attracting attention.

Otherwise...I don't think the dogs missed anything..

-- Investigators have urged police to be on the lookout for a "darker-skinned or black male" with a possible foreign accent in connection with Monday's bombings, according to a law enforcement advisory obtained by CNN. The man, seen with a black backpack and sweatshirt, was trying to enter a restricted area about five minutes before the first explosion, the notice says.

Thanks for the update. I didn't know that. What about the reports that the ones that went off were made from pressure cookers?

hmmmmm, i think i've heard similar to this line before, haven't you ?

There is no need, nor desire for the govt to ban and confiscate our pressure cookers.
trade the words "pressure cooker" for guns/ammo and i think you might understand.

Tho I agree it is no poster's job to re-post info that has been put in this thread many times already, I do see its a large thread and my desire for all to have a "proper understanding" of the "reported details" outweighs any obligations or whatnot.

Here is a report directly from the Boston Governor and a quick google search will bring thousands of pages linking to the "reported" fact. I understand this thread is moving fast and not everyone has no life, like me, or the time to sit and refresh every min on the min. Hugs to you.

Disgusting in all regards, but definitely not complicated in any regard. I'm still waiting to hear about how the devices were set off.

Apparently some sort of timing device, not by cellphone, at least thats what they're saying at the moment.

If it was relatively simple and quick to build, easy to aquire, I wonder how many of these the terrorist made? Could he be out there at the moment setting up more? Considering the amount of attention the Boston one got, depending on his motivations there may be other events he want's to bomb, so I hope they catch him soon.

What about those reports? Not sure what you're asking. Those are also all over the place. Additional details vary quite a bit, but the common things seem to be the bombs were in pressure cookers and that they were in black bags.

There is no such thing as false flag, apparently. Everything just happens at random and looks like coincidence.

Second: The ONLY thing the govt is good at is blowing stuff up. Oh...and wasting money. And red tape. Did I mention wasting money?

I see you conveniently left out killing people. Lot's of them, all the time, daily in fact. Just not in your country. Well on most days anyway.

Ergo had this truly been a false flag there would have been many more casualties.

Or they botched the job and the people got off lightly.

Paranoia is sometimes a healthy thing...but only sometimes. When it totally lacks any logic whatsoever then Occam's razor is the best philosophy to follow.

Who's definition of logic? Are you the logic king? Does your logic trump everyone else's logic? No, you have an opinion and its as worthless as your logic.

Debka have decided who caused this - a Saudi cell. I know that Debka were always going to blame some enemy of Israel but with the reports during the night - Saudi Arabian suspect from the New York times, the reports that there were more devices but these had been defused, which was then refuted. I know that in the chaos of these events, reports are often rushed and frankly often wrong, but then there follows the deliberate operation of false information, keeping quiet to give the FBI the best chance of catching their culprits.

with no one claiming responsibility,

This what everyone should be talking about no one is claiming responsibility strange most groups always love to take credit even when they don't do anything.

Maybe a fear of a drone through their window is hindering the "investigation".

Strictly speaking "logic" is like math...it does not vary like opinion. Someone's logic can be better constructed and premised on more sound factual evidence within the rules of logic...but "logic" is logic. It even adopts a symbolic algebraic format for analysis and discussion. You don't get do dismiss it like opinion.

You haven't presented any evidence I have seen to support a false flag operation?

Instead you have been quick to emotionally bait those that question your claim.

Maybe construct a sound argument with evidence for the claim? I'd listen?

But Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence ...and I haven't seen ANY evidence at all to support the claim.

It really shows how paranoid and wacked out people are claiming it a false flag when there has been zero evidence to suggest anything YET.

A sniffer dogs are not 100% anything could of caused them to miss something. It could of been a unuseal explosive used as I said a few pages back most thing only test for Nitrate explosives. The dogs could even have just been distracted that day with all the noise a dog is still a dog it isnt perfect.

Shouting FALSE FLAG! FALSE FLAG! FORCE FLAG! is just stupid.
