Oh yeah!! We used to put on "shows", too, with the neighbor kids (twin girls). Thanks for reminding me! We also did a couple of those 'backyard
carnivals' - you could buy a "kit" that had cardboard props and such. How funny....
behind that house on the dirt road was a wheat field. We used to make tunnels in it, mazes and hidey-holes. I remember once a bully neighbor kid
pulled some trick on me where it appeared that he had used his mouth to get the leafy things off from around the kernels. I tried it and they stuck
in my mouth horribly.....I was mortified with embarrassment; and it was quite uncomfortable.
There was also a horse pasture between our house and the Public School that we walked to. It was maybe 1/4 mile...
I'd walk along the fenceline and pull grass out of the ditch and those horses would eat it from my hands. I love the smell of horse breath and the
feel of their soft lips and whiskers and warm breath. Love it. Still.
