According to Christs death and resurrection He does that everyday.
Why this Sunday as opposed to any other day.
Is the catholic god stingy and selfish or something?
Jesus is a gift giver, He sees how far away from God the world is at present. His mercy is His greatest attribute
so believe and please take advantage of Our Lord's promise for the feast day not matter your faith background.
You don't have to be Catholic.
Have faith, trust Our Lord. Try as best you can to fulfill Jesus' requirements to receive His graces this Sunday.. Check Question #8 in the OP if you are non-Catholic. On this special day. the feast of Divine Mercy, all reparation for our confessed sins is met.
"Our Lord revealed to St. Faustina His desire to literally flood us with His graces on that day. He told her: :rose:On that day the very depths of My tender Mercy are open. ... The soul that will go to Confession [beforehand] and receive Holy Communion [on that day] shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (699) The theologian who examined St. Faustina's writings for the Holy See, Rev. Ignacy Rozycki, explained that this is the promise of a complete renewal of baptismal grace, and in that sense like a “second Baptism”

Are you sincere about asking for forgiveness and do you truly feel bad for what you did? Do you understand what you did is wrong and why it is wrong? Do you really feel bad for the sin you committed and do you want to change your life for the best and to help others? Then yes, you can be forgiven.
Special needs know no better (sometimes. I emphasize sometimes because of circumstances and variables) and sometimes they do. IF they know better and are sincere in asking for forgiveness... You get the picture Jigger
Yeah, thanks. Just no divine mercy for those evil divorced people. Jeeeez!

Col be,
"Grace" means "unmerited/underserved" gifts.
1. It's no longer grace if it must be earned.
2. It's no longer grace if it's merit based.
"Ishtar", which is pronounced "Easter" was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of their gods that they called "Tammuz", who was believed to be the only begotten son of the moon-goddess and the sun-god.
Worshippers were to meditate upon the sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz, and to make the sign of the "T" in front of their hearts as they worshipped.
They also ate sacred cakes with the marking of a "T" or cross on the top.
Every year, on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made.
It was Ishtar´s Sunday and was celebrated with rabbits and eggs.
Ishtar also proclaimed that because Tammuz was killed by a pig, that a pig must be eaten on that Sunday.
By now, the readers of this tract should have made the connection that paganism has infiltrated the contemporary "Christian" churches, and further study indicates that this paganism came in by way of the Roman Catholic System.
The truth is that Easter has nothing whatsoever to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Because no thing is meant to last forever. The universe must always remain in motion to maintain balance, and motion means change. When you stay still for too long, you forget that you're supposed to move, and you forget why. And when that happens...you forget why you live. Just like having too much money demeans the value of money, or having too much sex desensitizes the sensations of sex. Too much food undermines the taste, the flavor. And too much life takes away the value of being alive.
I don't want to forget what it is to live. That's why I don't want to live forever. That's why immortality is a curse. When the novelty is gone, when everything has been seen or said or heard or done three or four times already, all that's left is death. The one thing you can't have. The interim sleep that erases everything and lets you see the world through fresh eyes.
I don't want to forget. I want to keep refreshing, keep seeing the world anew. I don't want to know everything about life. I want to have new mysteries, new thrills and challenges, new motivations to make me look forward to each dawn as eagerly as the last. And when it's over, I'll start again in a new body and a new path. There's no better way to spend eternity. What's the point, otherwise?

Heaven isn't, God requires you live a holy life and that involves faith and works. This promise is a gift from Our Lord, a special day to atone here for "confessed" sins and not over the veil in Purgatory. Jesus' great mercy.
