Can I still receive Divine mercy?

Yep. Scripture says that everyone who is truly sorry for their sins can receive His Mercy. Even nun-raping kitten eating scummy people .. divorced or not. All that's required is sincere sorrow for sins.

Seriously though .. I like the Divine Mercy Diary. My copy is pretty much worn out because I've read it probably a dozen times. It's really interesting. Of course, I don't know if I believe it all, but it does seem to me that something special was going on with St. Faustina and I found her thoughts on God's Mercy to be very interesting.

Col be,

"Grace" means "unmerited/underserved" gifts.

1. It's no longer grace if it must be earned.
2. It's no longer grace if it's merit based.

Why this Sunday as opposed to any other day.
Is the catholic god stingy and selfish or something?

Jesus is a gift giver, He sees how far away from God the world is at present. His mercy is His greatest attribute
so believe and please take advantage of Our Lord's promise for the feast day not matter your faith background.

You don't have to be Catholic.

Have faith, trust Our Lord. Try as best you can to fulfill Jesus' requirements to receive His graces this Sunday.. Check Question #8 in the OP if you are non-Catholic. On this special day. the feast of Divine Mercy, all reparation for our confessed sins is met.

"Our Lord revealed to St. Faustina His desire to literally flood us with His graces on that day. He told her: :rose:On that day the very depths of My tender Mercy are open. ... The soul that will go to Confession [beforehand] and receive Holy Communion [on that day] shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (699) The theologian who examined St. Faustina's writings for the Holy See, Rev. Ignacy Rozycki, explained that this is the promise of a complete renewal of baptismal grace, and in that sense like a “second Baptism”

I am sorry thats not an answer
Why do we need two baptisms

Are you sincere about asking for forgiveness and do you truly feel bad for what you did? Do you understand what you did is wrong and why it is wrong? Do you really feel bad for the sin you committed and do you want to change your life for the best and to help others? Then yes, you can be forgiven.
Special needs know no better (sometimes. I emphasize sometimes because of circumstances and variables) and sometimes they do. IF they know better and are sincere in asking for forgiveness... You get the picture Jigger

Yeah, thanks. Just no divine mercy for those evil divorced people. Jeeeez!

It doesn't matter whether you believe number 7 of the OP or not. It is the creator of this thread that believes it. Probably millions also believe it. Please direct your disdain for such an embarrassingly ridiculous belief to them. Thanks. And STOP directing your childishness at members and focus YOUR opinions on THEIR opinions. Even I didn't call Colbe ignorant because he has this one ignorant belief.

Heaven isn't, God requires you live a holy life and that involves faith and works. This promise is a gift from Our Lord, a special day to atone here for "confessed" sins and not over the veil in Purgatory. Jesus' great mercy.

Dear people, God has revealed it, He is perfectly loving and perfectly JUST. Everyone makes reparation for
the sins of their life. First, you have to confess your sins, do not die in mortal sin.

We atone for our sins here by our sufferings, acts of love and prayers said. If not completed here, we make reparation over the veil in Purgatory.

Read the promise of Our Lord in the OP for this special day, tomorrow, April 7th, 2013. Search Divine Mercy
Sunday.

The title already sounds counter-intuitive.

Jesus has been waiting for 2013 years in order to wait for tomorrow just to say "I forgive you" for all of the bad things people did in the past.

I'm not religious, but I do thank the OP for this. I see it as a day of new energies coming in. We're being bombarded by new emotions and concepts, and it makes sense to me that tomorrow would be a significant day energy-wise. This whole year is our rebirthing process. We're into the 2nd trimester now, so the changes are going to become more evident in our everyday lives. We will begin to see just how our thoughts/intentions manifest into reality, and at faster and faster intervals. This is a time of confusion for many, as we attempt to shake of the bonds of fear that have been placed on us as a collective species for so long. TPTB will soon be referred to as TPTW and shortly after, they won't be referred to anymore. The past will be left right where it belongs, in the past. The veil's about to fall and we are all here to witness our own birth as a new, conscious race of human. Namaste everyone

I hate to be the one to break it to you guys, but you're praying to the wrong "god"!

"Ishtar", which is pronounced "Easter" was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of their gods that they called "Tammuz", who was believed to be the only begotten son of the moon-goddess and the sun-god.

You're also not doing it right... You gotta eat the sacred T cakes!

Worshippers were to meditate upon the sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz, and to make the sign of the "T" in front of their hearts as they worshipped.

They also ate sacred cakes with the marking of a "T" or cross on the top.

Every year, on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made.

It was Ishtar´s Sunday and was celebrated with rabbits and eggs.

Ishtar also proclaimed that because Tammuz was killed by a pig, that a pig must be eaten on that Sunday.

By now, the readers of this tract should have made the connection that paganism has infiltrated the contemporary "Christian" churches, and further study indicates that this paganism came in by way of the Roman Catholic System.

The truth is that Easter has nothing whatsoever to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

No, they're definitely a no go. There are droves of anti-religion trolls just waiting in the wings for another religious thread. Literally every religious thread I've seen pop up, is always inevitably derailed by individuals who just want to bash religion. It's easy to tell around ATS who has a chip on their shoulder.

Of course, they'll attempt to defend themselves by claiming "free speech", because free speech gives you carte blanche to act like a douchebag.

I still fail to comprehend the necessity for immortality.

Because no thing is meant to last forever. The universe must always remain in motion to maintain balance, and motion means change. When you stay still for too long, you forget that you're supposed to move, and you forget why. And when that happens...you forget why you live. Just like having too much money demeans the value of money, or having too much sex desensitizes the sensations of sex. Too much food undermines the taste, the flavor. And too much life takes away the value of being alive.

I don't want to forget what it is to live. That's why I don't want to live forever. That's why immortality is a curse. When the novelty is gone, when everything has been seen or said or heard or done three or four times already, all that's left is death. The one thing you can't have. The interim sleep that erases everything and lets you see the world through fresh eyes.

I don't want to forget. I want to keep refreshing, keep seeing the world anew. I don't want to know everything about life. I want to have new mysteries, new thrills and challenges, new motivations to make me look forward to each dawn as eagerly as the last. And when it's over, I'll start again in a new body and a new path. There's no better way to spend eternity. What's the point, otherwise?

The above quote is my response to the promise of eternal life. I don't understand the necessity for such a gift. Could someone explain it to me?

Depends on how you view it.

If you view that concept of immortality as meaning you'll go to Heaven, it's because through faith in things unseen you are blessed with eternal life, without the sting of death.

If, however, you view it as meaning you'll be reincarnated, it's because everything is cyclic. The failure to see the "necessity of immortality" on your part is due to the fact that your eyes are locked upon concepts that pass away.

You are confusing sanctification and justification.

Justification declares a person righteous, sanctification makes a person righteous. You should read Ephesians 2.

Roman Catholic Recruiting.

Grace cannot be applied to any ones life apart from acceptance of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross and that can happen any day 24/7 while one is alive.

Well if you don't want to have eternal life you can go into a deep sleep as a soul. You know how you go into deep sleep and there is no dream and then you wake up with energy and ready for life? It is the same concept except it'll be longer and after your soul "sleeping" you'll be more eager for experience.

You can even reincarnate to for get memories to have fun again.
