More US Deployments

Ok, NOW I'm really getting an ungood feeling here. I'm seeing moves reported that I have never seen before, and they're not good ones.

First, two E-6B TACAMO aircraft (semi-replacement for the EC-135 Looking Glass) have been launched. Upon departure the tower reportedly said "Be safe, and see you in a few weeks. Come back in one piece!"

Second, SLAM 1, a B-1B out of Ellsworth AFB requested permission to attack a "missile facility" in Snyder Texas (a school bus depot), using simulated JDAMs. They also mentioned SA-6 and SA-8 SAM launchers during the audio.

Third, and this is where things get really ungood, DARK 1, flight of 7 was heard requesting a tanker drag from Beale AFB, and requesting weather for UAM (UAM is the code for Anderson AB Guam). What makes this both worrying, and very unusual is the fact that DARK is the standard callsign for B-1B bombers out of Dyess AFB, TX. I have never heard of a flight of seven with B-1s. I've seen four, max, but never once have I seen seven flying together like that.

I read that and posted it to the North Korea Watch thread. I wasn't sure if the source was reliable, but if you think it is, then..... yikes?

Probably just a response to the missiles NK is moving. Still, it's a bold move though. Like you, I think this shows that the US is thinking it may be more than rhetoric this time, or is at least wanting to have the pieces in play if our assumptions are not correct. Provocative though, to be sure....but I guarantee we'll see some other kind of escalation from NK once this is more public.

Is it possible the flight of 7 contains escort fighters? I'm not familiar with the current arrangements, been a while since I was a military and defense contractor brat...

Sounds like our troops are getting ready for a fight in the Pacific, and or a preemptive strike.

God i really hope this dosent spin out of control.

What no one is thinking, if we do go to war with NK, China will have a great excuse to sale its 1 trillion dollars in US bonds. China needs a reason to sale those bonds and this is it! If that happens, say good bye to the US global reserve status. Welcome to the greatest depression.

It would depend on the number of tankers that went with them. They'd have to hit tankers off California, and for 7 bombers that's 9 or 10 -135s minimum (counting flying spares), then off Hawaii (another big bunch of tankers), then they might hit another batch near Japan just to make sure they had extra fuel on board just in case. The fighters can go 6 to a -135 or KC-10, so that would mean a huge gaggle of aircraft. I'm gonna say no, they would just have the fighters waiting for them when they got there.

What worries me is the E-6B move. They retrofitted them to carry a Battlestaff after the EC-135s went away. They originally were more of a radio relay to the sub fleet than anything. Now they're more of a Looking Glass type of plane. If they're deploying two of them, that means one is a backup or spare, or they're planning for a lot of coverage of the area.

Its also reported that NK asked all foreign embassies to evacuate NK at once. That NK cant promise there safety

I hope they are planning on taking out the NK regime along with China. The people over there are in dire need of help and if there ever were a case for intervention to save lives I'd say there's no better example than NK.

Maybe we take out their air defenses and their leadership and China has their military leaders ready to begin a coup followed by a stable government and a ton of UN aid following closely behind.

Not knowing my call signs and planes, There sending, Two communication aircrafts that are EMP resistant, aircraft fueling tankers and 7 bombers? could this be for relocation to Guam or is this a strke?

Wby broadcast the fact? Why transmit this over open frequencies?

The bombers APPEAR to be heading for Guam. They requested weather along a routing ending up at Anderson AB on Guam. They might be heading to another base near there as their final holding area, but it appears that Guam will be their final stop, joining other bombers out there.

The E-6Bs, just... left. No word on where they're going to hold at, but probably Japan, or Okinawa, somewhere close, but not in the direct line of fire like Guam is.

Because they have to talk to air traffic control along the way. There was a lot of behind the scenes talk going on as well I'm sure, but all ATC traffic is in the clear.

If you see US Army Japan troops activate and civilians being evac'd from Camp Zama and Kadena and Atsugi and Yokuska (etc) in Japan ... THEN you should get nervous. Then I'd say we are close. Their mission is to support S. Korea if anything were to happen. They'd be the first ones in ...

But right now .. it's all 'green' there and no civilian/dependent evac's.
