Youth is really incredible this way...........it is a buffer and protector just to get you into the next phase of this life. Life is really going to take you by surprise I think.

I have already been taken by surprise numerous times by "life", keeps it exciting I suppose.

Answer my fart question.

2nd line.

Perhaps the confined area and humidity of the "shower" increases the "smell".

If I were to be flatulent among a grove of beautiful flowers, I imagine "it" would smell better than if I farted while locked inside a steamy shower.

That is all I have on this subject sadly.

O.K. I'll bite. How do you know if an extra-terrestrial alien is friend or foe, within the crucial first 5 seconds upon stumbling on one in the wild?

I think I already know this answer. I just want your thoughts.

No biting please.

If the crucial first 5 seconds passed.. and I was still looking at him, it stands to reason he at least isn't a "foe" because he would have attacked me, not sure he would be a "friend" though.

Just cause that guy on the street didn't punch me in the face earlier, doesn't mean we are friendly. It just means I didn't anger him enough to warrant a face punch.

This sort of enlightenment only occurs under the age of 30 because you haven't been around long enough for the world to beat that naive euphoria out of you.

The world beat that "euphoria" out of me long ago, trust me.

I am thankful for the opportunity to discover it again.

Cheese most certainly. Never been a fan of beans..

You look like my dad.

True story.

(edit)

Yes, democracy always leads to something being excluded. Even spaghetti hoops

Context of the measurement is everything.

You seem to be implying what appears as "infinite expansion" is paradoxically "infinite atrophy" and only relevant to side you view "it" from?

No difference.

Complete unenlightenment already contains within it all degrees of being unenlightened. So nothing to measure..

I don't know. Much like the universe I find myself in, it would appear my "mind" is in a constant state of expansion.

If I allow myself to imagine "me" as an enlightened individual, I can't help but wonder how long it would take for me to become bored with such a stagnant & non-expansive state of being. Maybe some of the enlightened here on ATS can chime in about this?

Could it be I have already attained this "enlightenment", grew bored of it, and decided to place myself here for my "entertainment"? I think it is possible, and could be why my "mind" mirrors the universe in the manner it does.

But I doubt it.

If that were the case; why then would I seek to lay claim to enlightenment? That would be retrograde to the very nature of me being here, and I would do anything in my power to prevent myself from becoming "enlightened".

Anyway..

I claim to be completely unenlightened and seek only to abandon all previous notions I had regarding what enlightenment is or isn't.

If anyone has questions for this ignorant fool, feel free to ask away.
