The guy showed clear signs of being mentally unstable, his wife did what any responsible person would do.

And how would show "Clear signs of being unstable"? Have you ever met the guy?

You taking sides in a "He said, She said" argument.

Yikes! I got caught up in the moment. From the looks of things he was cleared of most charges, but I can't find anything further.

Thanks for the heads up. You've got a great memory!

ETA: I accidently posted this in a wrong thread.

I want to see this indoor firing range and the materials that he built it with. He may have only been plinking with a pellet gun or a .22 for all we know. It would be easy to build quality ballistic barriers for those, and sound proof it as well.

The article said that he had told the neighbors to not be alarmed if they heard shooting. A 22 can't be heard well through walls and certainly not a pellet gun.

I could build a safe place to shoot, but I doubt if this guy did. I belong to a gun club, it has an indoor shooting range. There are a lot of safegards in place. Only 22s can be used indoors there. This guys target choice was for learning about larger a rifles capabilities.

Guns in responsible hands are safe, this guys actions seem to make him a threat to the neighborhood. The neighbors also have rights to safety. His wife also has rights. Our rights do not take presidence over others safety or feeling of safety. I don't even shoot my guns on my property, I don't want to scare the neighbors and I own over five acres. The gun range is only five minutes away from me, I'll go there and shoot.

BS. His wife being in that profession knew how to manipulate the outcome to her gain - ie Next step - divorce. He's got a pretty big house there doing pretty well and she wants at least Half.

There is no law against a private citizen owning, even stockpiling these weapons, His converted firing range was not illegal or said to be improper. The guys statement about he's glad to get these off the streets is propaganda - they were never on the streets or used in any crimes. If I were the guy I'd fight this and get his guns back, then sue his wife for deformation of character.

Exactly. When a nutcase goes off and commits murder, the gun owners all cry "Don't blame US, that guy was mental!".

And as soon as it's a case of "Wife puts in hubby for acting mental!" the cry is "How dare they!!!!!"

... can't win against the rawrMyGunsrawr brigade.

I tend to think the wife would know the mental state of the person she married a little better than the average poster on ATS.

No need to do that.

If anyone can find out what actaully happened to him, I'd be interested to hear it.

I really want to know if the "indoor shooting range" they claimed he had in his attick was just a case of spent brass he was using for reloading. I always thought that if he was shooting in his condo he would have been arrested for that, and not for guns he legally owned.

I think it's safe to say that if you think that 80% of Americans are thinking about civil war, you are out of your ever-loving mind.

That's the problem with you anti-government patriots, you think that you're the norm when nothing could be further from the truth.

I agree that he was an idiot for building a range, especially at that height. And it also could not have been much of a range considering...well, the range that the weapons would be fired.

He now has a YouTube channel, I found it regarding this thread. Some of the stuff makes sense, some of it is out there. But it looks like he's a free man now.

Perhaps you should look up the definition of conspiracy. And "conspiring".

Planning a civil war and/or causing, starting one, is never a very legal thing to do. Neither is a coupe. The thing is, if you're successful you get to be in charge of the law that is supposed to prosecute you...

The whole, "winners write the history books" type thing.

Reading through the various news articles while searching, it looks as if he got most of his stuff back, the majority of the charges were dropped. But they don't say what stuff.

But considering how long they kept him locked up with no bail, I would bet that there is a high dollar lawsuit in the works as we type.

Some of the comments in the articles are informative, and some are emotional. Reminds me of ATS. I wouldn't doubt if some of the commentators are members.

Did you know I could assault you with my hands and feet?
Should I cut my feet and hands off and turn them in to the nearest police station?

He was using his 3rd floor as a firing range?
He had an illegal ballistic plate that he was using in his 3rd floor firing range and told his neighbors to not be alarmed if they hear gun shots? The man purchased all equipment in 9 months......His wife is a psychiatrist? Obviously she was scared for her life! He told her to not talk to people and its okay to shoot them in the head. I am sorry, I may have done it too if I was scared to go home!!!! His wife was scared for HER OWN LIFE!! You do not know what other things he may have said or done that only a trained psychiatrist could spot, or a wife for that matter!!

Now I am all for the 2nd but come on....Firing in the house? That is a little over the top! What the hell was he thinking?

This is what happens when you marry a psychiatrist.

So the guy warned neighbours not to be alarmed? Any psychopath wouldn't give a crap about the neighbours feelings. Tough one but I know I would feel deceived if my wife had done this too me especially knowing I wasn't a direct threat to the public or anyone else.

interesting how many people have come to this mans defense regardless of the fact that he was firing weapons indoors in a populated area and informed his neighbors of this fact (regardless of whether or not he informed his neighbors this in and of itself is illegal and grounds for serious concerns)

is he crazy? maybe....maybe not who knows..... but if he isnt he is certainly too stupid and irresponsible to be in possession of a firearm
stand up for your rights by all means but use some F&#*ing sense and dont defend indefensible actions simply because hes "part of the club" .....im sure weve all heard guilt by association...... youre making responsible gun owners look crazy by association when you refuse to condemn this type of bs

You probably should. While you are at it, go ahead and cut that tongue out. You might verbally assault someone and hurt their feelings.

/end sarcasm

Did you bother reading the thread? Just asking, not trying to be rude.

It's because they either failed to actually watch the video (I know some can't watch) or read the thread.

I think most people would be very concerned if they had a neighbor firing rifles in their apartment building, regardless of his mental status.

i think its potentially worse that people are blindly defending this than if they actually understood the situation and agreed with what he was doing
.....this type of behavior is why we have the world we do
