It's an insult to see our president and his family living like rock stars when over 46 million Americans are living on food stamps and most of those people make up the working poor. And by the way I'm a democrat who thinks Obama is a horrible president. I didn't vote for him 2nd time.

The article doesn't say that the vacation was paid for by taxpayers. At the end of the article is says that Judicial Watch reported that Malia had a vacation the year before at the cost of $115,500.87 at the taxpayers expense. Is Judicial Watch a reliable source? OH crap this is Briebart's source----it must be true!! I don't think so. The government does waste money, but this is ridiculous.

Anyplace that the Obama's go, tax dollars are involved. Who do you think pays for the heavy security? Now if you want to downplay that because they're "vacations" and not official trips, the security concerns are the same, regardless. Costs just as much to the taxpayer either way.

It sickens me that people are taking partisan sides on this issues, by pointing the finger at previous presidents.

The main point is that the country is broke, in debt and people are hurting yet a president is taking extravagant vacations at the taxpayers expense.

If I was the president, especially being from the democratic party I would take a humble vacation and truly help people in the USA out.

You see a humble vacation is for peasants, honest, and hardworking people that actually built the USA over many years, and the parasites we call politicians are living in a fantasy world at our expense.

This country has been in "debt" for nearly 100 years; yet, it was never an issue before. Why now?

I may be wrong but I think Michelle Obama pre-recorded that video for the awards. She didn't make a live appearance.

If you want to talk about vacation days while in office do some research on the current POTUS and the last 10. I think you'll find that Obama is doing nothing out of the ordinary.

All Foreign Aid and Immigration should have stopped before a single American lost any services. Non-Americans shouldn't be getting support before Americans.

Obama said things are gonna suck. He told the American people to suck it up. Is nobody else really torn up about the fact that not only Obama but the rest of the elected officials are enjoying themselves while we suffer.

Granted, I live quite comfortably, but I see the struggle others are making. I see people having to do everything they can to keep what they have. And I hate it. I hate seeing my friends go through that, so I help them in any way I can. Our leadership should be doing this too. They should be leading from the front. They should step up and say, "Hey, you elected me in to office and now you're suffering, I'm going to suffer with you."

Does that not seem like something a good leader would do?

My thoughts exactly. If Obama was a true leader, he wouldn't be relying on the tax payers to fund trips for his daughters to Aspen or Atlantis. He needs to start being held accountable for his actions. The money should be coming out of his own pocket.

yeah this one bothers me. he should pay for it not us. this is not a diplomatic trip, this is a vacation. camp david would suffice for 99% of the families in this country

You're correct. Instead of being a great leader, he is nothing more than a status quo politician who is following the path of other status quo "leaders".

There will always be poor people. Too bad, so sad. Pulling on heart strings much. Those are not the average picture of an American. It has been my knowledge that the President pays for his own vacations save the secret service which would be with him every day no matter where it happens to be. Yes we pay his salary but that does not give us the right to tell him how to spend it? You wouldn't think of telling your employee if you happen to have any how to spend the money you pay them would you? No that would be meddling.
