Yes, Obama is the only president to enjoy the luxury that came with being a president.

Ive been to Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas. On the beach there are numerous people walking around asking you to buy Christmas trees=Weed, or Snow=Cocaine. I know Obama said he had tried both. Youve really got to watch out for those guys, I saw a guy get into an altercation because he got ripped off. Its not really a paradise when you get to know the people that actually live there. More like a very hard life, full of drugs, theft, and misery. They got a realy nice Casino though. Sarcasim

Where is the proof we as Americans are paying for this and how is it 100k? They are kids for heavens sake. You say they don't need a break?! How do you know? Do you live their life? I would think they deal with more than any kid I know will ever deal with. Go pick on someone your own size.

I'm sure there are a lot of hard working parents who would love to take their children somewhere nice but can't. Many people cannot afford vacations anymore. No, they're too busy being the working poor while stuck on SNAP(food stamps) and trying to make ends meet. It's a slap in the face to Americans who are going through hell right now to constantly see these people living it up. To hell with this.

It's funny to hear people attempt to justify his extravagant lifestyle. The biggest differences between Obama vacationing and Bush vacationing are 1)the country wasn't in the crapper when Bush did it, and 2) Obama does it more often and at a greater expense to the taxpayer.

At this point I think its safe to say that Michelle has spent more on vacations than Bush did and she's NOT THE POTUS!!

hey...he's a black democratic president...they don't get vacations...only white republican presidents get vacations...by the way, all of congress went on vaction last week...but ...as we all know...white republicans go home, sit at their desks, and work diligently on legislation.

Is it NOT reprehensible to you that during the greatest financial crisis the country has faced in a long time where many people have lost everything and are now asked to tighten their belts even further as our public money is pissed away, is it ok that our leadership shows NO solidarity and chooses to not sit this years vacation out to show even a symbolic sense of unity and understanding? Is that OK to you?

I will never understand the apologetic tone you people take. YOU people should ask for a dollar for your service.

How is this even a race issue? White people...pfft. How about OBAMA and his family, what ever race that traitorous infestation just happens to be, has let us down.

He is our leader during hard times. Stop with the "bling and luxury" while people struggle to feed themselves thanks to the theft the elected and their friends have perpetrated.

Set an example or get the hell out of public office. It is a sacred charge with the highest of responsibilities. If you cant handle NOT going on vacation while your people are kicked out of their homes and are going poor, then you have NO BUSINESS being in office. You should just enjoy your money. POWER is for real MEN and WOMEN. Not pansies that cant handle toughing it out while they ask as much from their people.

Yeah, okay, Bush spent more money and took more vacations than Obama in his eight years of office. But Obama is barely into his second term so I wouldn't be surprised if he caught up with Bush in the next couple of years.

I think what people are having trouble with is that we had a financial collapse a few years ago and millions of people are out of work. The people who are finding work are doing only part time jobs and can't pay their mortgages (not all, of course) We can't take vacations, especially ones to gorgeous islands sipping coladas around the pool.

When Bush took his vacations to Crawford Ranch he spent his time working on the ranch (physically). He had mentioned once it was a great 'stress reducer'. He often rode his bike, jogged, etc... The town itself was dying, with buildings closed and boarded up until Bush bought his ranch there. Now the town has revived and is bustling with coffee shops and tourist attractions. He often visits these shops to talk with regulars and the residents are happy to have him.

What we are seeing in Obama that is his vacations have a 'luxury' quality to it: vacations in Hawaii, vacations in Bahamas, etc...It implies a life of ease, fine dining and extravagant purchases. And it rankles the public. While he stresses us to be patient and it will get better, he is taking vacations to these 'luxurious' places. A leader leads by example and he is not doing this.

ok...he can't pass any laws without congress, he can't appropriate any taxpayer monies to help people without congressional consent...congress went home on vacation...so...should he send out the military and forceably bring back every congressmen, and force them back into a congressional session, and stay there until the problems are solved?....or...do you think he should just stay in the white house for the rest of the next 4 years, not take any vacations, to show leadership?..... every time this president goes anywhere, overseas to talk to other leaders, or goes on vacation, he's called every name in the book, is accused of being unpatriotic, and calls for his removal or impeachment are heard over and over......him and his family have recieved 400% more death threats than bush did, most of them vile and disqusting. and yet...again....he's a pansy, he's not a real man, he has no business being president.

Great place for a vacation I went there 4 years ago. I would never take kids though but then the woman I took was old enough to be my daughter. Fun was had by all that went.

although i am not completely for obama's extravagant spending during these hard times, i have to point out some of the same people complaining about obama's vactaions are the same people that staunchly support millionaires and billionaires rights to their money and how they spend it!! you people make me sick, you are a bunch of hypocrites. the obama's were well off before he became president, and would still be well off had he not become president. were all you same people complaining now, complaining when sarah palin was wearing super expensive outfits while the obamas were dressing frugally? if you are going to demonize one, demonize them all!!!
