This could have something to do with the sequestration. Hell, they just completely cancelled the airshow for Labor Day weekend here in Cleveland because of the budget cuts.

Won't stop them from voting themselves a pay raise though. Bastards.

This has been discussed. They're supposedly trying to cut spending, as many have already said, it's common sense that you shouldn't be wasting anything, which we know those trigger happy American soldiers have been doing in the Middle East.

Strange times.

Oh they could cut spending on far less important things. They are playing Chicago politics with the Sequester. (which was Obamas idea) Low information voters just eat it up.

Sounds like a recently unemployed father talking to his children once he realizes he is poor.

This could be why the US seem to be stalling with Iran, NK and friends, maybe they simply cant afford to react.

According to someone who commented at the OP's youtube link, the following is the full video:

Draw your own conclusions, of course...

Ya, you know, with wars ending military budgets go down, common sense. Personally I think the troops are being brought home for retraining for a possible N. Korea and or Iran confrontation. Did you hear about mid way through the video he was talking about new weapons re training and better trained new soliers. Im sure he said something about some will be leaving the military from 212000 to 182000 But he went on to say new soliers better training.

I haven't watched the second clip in this thread yet...just the first one posted. Wanted to share this while still fresh in my mind.

When he says "Things have changed. The landscape has changed." I got a really weird feeling...

I can totally see that second guy in the video becoming a cannibal when SHTF
He's not going to let a supposed lack of resources get in his way of completing the mission... whatever the hell it may be

Looks to me like they are preparing for the possibility of a Coalition of the willing on the "Axis" side to pose a real threat to our mainland and I think they are starting the see that we should begin rationing everything we can for what could be a really protracted war putting us on the defence for the first time in a long time..

I joined the Army in the tail end of the Clinton era. During some of the darker Clinton days there wasn't enough fuel for a road march using the vehicles.

I think the general is referring to a future that is less abundant in terms of excess for training and readiness.

Explanation: S&F!

I can not fathom why the US Marine Corp would telegraph such useful intelligence to the enemy in such a widely distributed manner?

Unless the marines are just the new form of cannon fodder before the prepaid for black project super soldiers and the drone swarms 'take over' and TPTB are just taking care of business by literally cutting their losses with them by sending them on a $uicide mission. :shk:

Personal Disclosure: I am reminded of the Enemy at The Gates movie scene ...

Oh how the mighty have fallen! :w:

I suggest a new $trategy ... GTFO of Asia right now ok!
