What would the government do if hostile aliens came?

In my opinion, i think the u.s. government will blow hostile aliens to kingdom come with their nuclear missles. The aliens are no match to our ICBM missles. Tell me what you think the government would do

ya and what if they tow a 3.5 mile in diameter rock into orbit droping same on your head so much for nukes or just knocking them out from orbit so much for anything we got to put up a defense with we would last about 3 minutes if that +if they wanted to annilate us then why make us to begin with why ruin a good petrie dish.

Man i doubt they would have much affect at all... i think it would just piss them off if anything... like a bee sting...

We wouldn't put up a affective defense at all... depending on their intentions. our defense would only last a few minutes - a month max.

If they want earth ad want us as slaves it would take longer coz the cant just destroy everything... if they want to just wipe up out, then it would be over in seconds

I think they should put a drunk farmer in a F16 and let him fly into the beams that the ships are blasting the cities with...and..yeah...maybe they could send a bad rapper and a scientist to there mothership to plant a computervirus that makes all there ships useless.

I doubt a missile could do alot of damage, they would probably have an energy shield or some kind of super metal.

Do you understand that a race that had mastered faster than light speeds AND producing the huge amount of energy to do this would look at an ICBM like we would a spear?

Not to mention all they would have to do was drop ROCKS on our head from space?

They would have the upper hand easily

If we shot nukes at an alien ship, they would prbably have energy shields defending them from any attack so, we use the captured spaceship, send it to the mothership and plant a virus and get the dubya (hes gotta know somethin bout flyin airplanes) and have a world wide coordinated assault against the alien S.O.B.s and kill em and by some twist of fate, its on july forth then their is world peace and everyone holds hands and sings...

What we have for weapons are as toys to them.

besides the issue of effectiveness, or lack therefof, lets not forget the other effects that would result, radiation, nuclear fallout, etc.

Perhaps the most likely way to succeed would be a chemical/biological attack and hope they aren't immune to it....actually I've just been watching too much War of the Worlds

What if... the technology for intergalactic travel isn't really that far out of OUR reach. We're pretty clever creatures and IMO we may very well have some sense of this tech already. As someone posted before, if they're attacking then they probably want us or the planet. That would make the invasion lengthy if not difficult. That may give us enough time to shoot one or two down, collect the pieces... and balance the fight.

I think it's the Dogon bushmen tribe that has known about Sirius and it's companion star for close to 5000 years? I remember seeing a fairly old film clip of one of their celebratory dances where straw costumes were woven to be worn during the ceremony. One of the costumes in particular (fashioned to represent one of their "gods") looked strikingly like a modern day space suit. Now assuming that any of this actually suggests past ET visits, then isn't it a little strange that people capable of visiting us from a very long distance would still be wearing bulky space suits? Maybe our invaders wouldn't be as "superior" as we might expect them to be. IMHO any race still bent on conquest (a seemingly primative notion) just couldn't be that much more advanced than us.

anyone think that maybe the chemicals in a nuke would be something that could potentially be harmful to other life forms as well as us? Could be just the right mixture. Maybe WATER?!?!? They don't seem to be around lakes much!

Sadly I found only one site that claimed to have photos of the costume and they said that the site was currently under construction so the pic wouldn't load. I did however find a pic for a cavepainting. The costume looked omething like this.



In the film clip, the dance consisted of stiff and clumbsy movements which you can almost see in the posture of the characters portrayed in the painting. I'm not saying that I believe it, but IF that IS evidence...
