We already do this in Canada, it doesn't change anything. Over 70% of teens I know smoke cigarettes. Most adults do too.

Well then,. . I am curious.

How do the cigarette companies handle their add campaigns? Or has the government impeded advertising?

He has plenty of work to do IF he is doing his job. IMO his position has a little something to do with his wallet.

I guess it is possible that he might sometime to think when he is on the can. Maybe that is why he is coming up with so many GREAT IDEAS.

As I said in my post, there's a total ban on tobacco advertising in this country. Has been for a long time.

I dont think its control, Face it,. sugar is a killer,.
and tobacco companies also live off addicts,.,.
So..I am a health and nutrition consultant in my after hours,..
I tell people to quit smoking and stop the sugar consumption all the time..
am I a controller to those that simply just dont know any better?

Here in New Zealand, tobacco advertising has been banned for decades and now we have the law that all tobacco products must be hidden too

Face it. Sugar is better for you than artificial sweeteners, and your body breaks everything down to simple sugars for it's fuel.
If it's true you are a health and nutrition consultant you need to stop. Right now.

I know doctors who tell pregnant women not to stop smoking, because there is a greater risk to the fetus if they do. I have witnessed many times, individuals get severe health issues do to cutting out sugar, or replacing it with artificial sweeteners.

My mother spent time as a health and nutrition consultant in her off time, but she at least is a registered nurse.
Funny thing, she eats more sugar than I do, and rarely will lecture me on smoking.

To me it sounds like you are trying to be a controller to those you disagree with.

Most Certainly. If you are directing aka Consulting " Those Who Don't Know Any Better ", you are in fact controlling them.

I think curbing the consumption of cigarettes in any way possible would relieve the state from some of the future burdens of healthcare for the poor.

It's easy, everyone who smokes in New York can put their houses up for sale at the same time and move out of town. It should be enough to collapse their economy there. Along with that, business owners who smoke could shut their doors for a few weeks in protest. It will seal the fate of New York. Even if it is only twenty percent of the people in New York, it could destroy the city.

A loss in sales would also curb NY's tax revenues quite a bit as a pack of Marlboros in NYC about $11 and in St Louis, MO they go for about $4.50.

I can't wait until he "helps" with all those confusing choices on the voter ballot by removing the ones that people shouldn't vote for. After all we must think of the children.

Yes, Yes, .. " The Children " .. .. And where were we with this issue a hundred years ago?

It is a Vicious Society. What's "In" today is Definitely "Out" tomorrow.

And go figure that he would cut off thier nose despite their face.

The world, the US in particular, has become The Theater of the Absurd. PAC's, special interest groups and politicians will not be happy until every last shred of comfortable, civilized life is neatly in its assigned console and we are all in ours.
