Sounds like some pretty serious dream action there! All of those sound pretty nasty although I think being buried alive would be the worst in a lot of ways.

Well, not that i've had thousands of people come to this thread but it seems like the consensus so far is that when someone dies in their dream everything goes black for some amount of time and then they either wake up or go to some other place.

Cool, I love flying dreams. It's funny though for me as the majority of the time if I try and fly in my dream I actually have to wave my arms up and down like a bird to get liftoff haha. It's bizarre.

I've been fascinated by dreams for a long time now. I've worked out a few things in my dreams but I don't think i'm as experienced as some people in lucid dreaming etc. I need to get back to writing in a dream journal I think.

I have also been shot to death in several dreams...and yes the pain felt very real.

I have also driven off of a few cliffs and died that way also.

My friend is a very gifted and spiritual lady and she basically told me that dying in dreams signifies a significant change in the waking life. Kind of like starting a new chapter in your waking life.

yh thats what i noticed i do 90 percent of the time, kind of like treading on water to keep afloat, then i go horizontal and fly, sometimes i fall (less lucid)

its a weird feeling getting killed in dreams because i feel something in my head. not sure if my real head or not. but kinda feels like my heads been twisted

That makes sense - it's funny...my dream was about a skyscraper being destroyed and right now in the real world my company has been sold to an investment company.

So...maybe my dream was signifying the death of the old company...

Hopefully, our office won't be destroyed - although it would probably be an improvement as the decor here is very crappy!

I'll write some of the ones i remember when i was a kid.In this dream i was walking down the streat and i saw some kinda church or at least that was what i could of made out of it .And there was some kinda light coming out from inside of it that drawn me in.I was walking now inside the build towards that captivating light.There were chairs around and looking ahead i saw and altar now and the light seemed to be to the right of it.When i was closed to it i had the impression it was a basement of some kinda and i remember being scared because when i got at the enterance of it the light cut off and everywhere was darkness and i heard something.I looked up and there was this kinda tower that had spiral stairways that were going up.Some kinda black hooded people( or whatever they were but they seemed to have human features) where slowly going up.I tried to blend in in some way and fallow them but while i was going up there was this huge balcony that caugth my attention and i changed my path towards it but when i got close to see what was it or how it was looking outside through it i was thrown outside to some and bennith me it was soem kinda grave that had wars coming out of it and after that i don't remember anything else from that dream.In another dream from that period i was running from something but i don't remember from what i was running from just that i was running from something or someone.And i was climing this big hill and there was darkness everywhere even the ground because there was thundering going on around and i could see the ground being pitch black.I don't know if i am remembering right but i think the lightning struck me and i don't remember anything else from that one.In one dream i was waking up in my room and it looked if not the same at least similar and while i was getign out of my bed i saw a big eye on the floor that seemed to not actually be on it but from beneath it and going through the floor.It really sacred me and there was the door bell ringing and i was even more afraid to answer the door but i did that and there was soem kinda ugly looking creature that made me wake up because i don't remember anything else after that.In one dream there were these spiders coming towards me from everywhere and i don't know if i ran or what i did but i seen them transorm in this black liquid bubbles that were exploding all over me.In one dream i was running from something yet again and i was slowing down till i couldn't move and when whatever was that i was running from finally got me the dream either ended or i woke up again.In one dream i wasn't doing much of anything but suddenly something grabbed me and raised me in the air and said something but i don't remember what and even tho i couldn't move i remember saying that it doesn't want me to say this to father and it let me go and dissapeard.In one i was on a mounting and while i was goign up there was this tomb that looked more like a castle and it was very black but it had a purple light going straight up from what i think was the center of it.The nature was normal around it and this whatever it was it was looking so out of place that ofcourse i went to inspect it.The etrance was actually going down in the ground and i don't remember what i done after that but remember being in some kinda enourmouse hallway that had a huge fireplace and to the left there was some stairways to were leading up to the hallway and after that i don't rememebr what i did after but fighting in one room that had old looking brick wall and i was fighting this being that was dark but had no actual form but just some kinda morphing way of being something difrent when i was hiting it and i don't rememeber anythign else from it.I can continue with other ones if you have time to read or want to.

Some of them are really rediculous.In one i was cut in half and could move my hands but was stuck in mid something and couldn't do anything but was looking with each eye from both sides at how i was moving my hands but not the rest of the split body.In another one i was just walking on a road and suddenly a volcano under me start's to erupt out of nowhere and i was running on what i thought to be hot rock and not lava that was flowing around and felt the skin melting in this intense pain and i died and woke up.

Damn. Sounds like some pretty nasty dreams.

I'm sure there could be reasons for these or perhaps if you believe it - they are some sort of spiritual attack or something.

Lots of symbolism in there - maybe you should get in touch with someone who is an expert in dream interpretation?

I thought there is some kinda witchcraft(but never said what my interpretation of them was to anyone)or something involved somewhere around because it's not normal to have nightmares as most of your dreams

I definitely don't think it's normal to have nightmares all the time that's for sure. If it's been going on for a long time, I guess you should try and rule out any physical things first - ie do you have sleep apnea or something that might be causing your body to be stressed out and thereby maybe making up negative dreams? Then maybe look at the mental aspect and finally look at the metaphysical aspects.

Hope you can get to the bottom of it though as that would be very annoying!

I have nightmares since i was little so it's not recent or ever stopped completely.I don't have sleep apnea.I don't remember any dreams lately tho.

It might be interesting to know what they mean.You kinda get used to that(having so much bad dreams) and i give less importance which is why i am not that really interested in finding out what could it be at the bottom of this but it doesn't mean that i wouldn't want to know because my beliefe is that there is some bad ghosts or whatever around here or some whitchcraft or something.

most of my "dying dreams" involve driving a car off the edge of a cliff and waking up shortly before impact. sometimes in those dreams if i'm not awoken i'm a broken body trapped in a wrecked car with no one around to help me. i've had dreams that involve trying to dig myself out of a shallow grave, i'm not dead in those dreams per say just mistaken for someone who is dead.

"dying dreams" give me the creeps, glad they don't happen often.

I haven't died recently, but I have died in quite a few dreams. Most of the time I woke up. On a couple occasions I've OBE'd inside of the dream but didn't realize it, I thought I was a ghost.

Fun thread! Years ago I had a vivid dream wherein I was given a choice to die by water or by fire; I chose water and was standing by a garden ( a beautiful garden with a huge tiger wandering around in it that I ADORED) and saw the waves coming in. Then I was sitting up on a table, like an examination-room table and there were people in white coats (scientists/doctors?) and I kept bothering the woman near me about how REAL that life had felt.. "no no you don't understand, it was so real! I thought it was real!" and she smiled a little bit and said matter of fact "I know. It's supposed to feel that way."

Seemed like there was one more dying dream but can't recall it right now.

This is the first time I've heard anyone other than my mother say this. She is in her 70's and can't recall EVER remembering a dream in her life. We all think it's so weird...

It happened to me too, 2 weeks ago.

I died but continued in spirit comforting my loved ones.

It was a sad but unforgettable dream.

It happened to me in a dream where I was falling, and I was extremely frightened in the air – but at one point I realized "I'm going to die", and the dream theme went from scary and stressful to complete calmness. Then I woke up.

I had a dream about jawbones etc laid out on a table in a church. I could distinctly smell death, having never smelt it before until about 10 years later when working as a security guard at a meat factory where the gatehouse was located right at the side of a slaughterhouse. Very strange.
