Well done to G!
OP, dont be too hard on the docs, they are just as brainwashed as everyone else, probably more so because they've got constant contact with big pharma's highly trained liars...um... I mean sales reps.

..G has a lot of pain from this infection and after two weeks Flowmax hasn't worked, so what does the doc want to do, prescribe a stronger dose and talk about surgery, rather than recommend some common household remedies that have worked for ages. What would it hurt to try something such as the ideas presented here tonight, but they are absolutely dead set against it and have the nerve to roll their eyes at you when you suggest it. So, the doctor would rather have G continue to suffer using a prescribed drug than try anything that might work. We have to go home from the doctor's office and punch in a few Google search terms to find a better fix than Flowmax.

When we were trying to reduce the amount of drugs my father was on a doctor recommended we replace his Flowmax with Saw palmetto. The herb came in a supplement bottle like a vitamin. It worked really well for him. Maybe that would help G?

I'm 100% with you on alternative remedies. I'm in the uk, and although big pharma is having its way with our GP's, most of them are still reasonable, but I sometimes forget the difference between the UK and the US, so maybe my comment was in error.
I know we cant mention certain things on this board but have you ever watched - Run from the cure ?
Not to stick up for Big Pharma or Big Health...or the US health care system...but have you noticed the demography of late? There is a huge wave of Boomers becoming seniors and they actively seek out communities with hospitals nearby. They (we) are also the generation that votes, AND are sitting on a lot of dough in terms of pensions and real estate. Not everything is a conspiracy, ya know?

...the only construction going on nowadays is the building of new mega-hospitals and state-of-the-art clinics. And that's not even an exaggeration. I ask you all to start paying attention. I'll bet you live in a town, or have one next door with a new hospital or clinic being built, or a major remodel project going on in your existing facility.

Does anyone here realize that docs don't make money from prescribing medications?
Many of them battle death everyday, and are able to shake it off and walk in to see the next patient battling death with a smile on their face. They never give up on their patients and ALWAYS fight for the best outcomes.
You turn doctors into villains yet you've never been to med school, you don't practice medicine, nor do you understand the underlying physiology of the situation, let alone how the medications (which in many instances are derived from plants) effect the physiology of the disease and the disease progression.
It sounds like the new diet made your FIL healthier overall, and that's amazing. I would still be concerned about his prostate. What is his current PSA level? How has it risen/fallen since his first round of tests? Can you chart his PSA into a graphical representation (PSA/time) so we can see how it is?
What happens when someone with a more aggressive form of this disease comes across this thread, turns his back on traditional medicine, and follows your cure? What happens if he dies? Are you willing to shoulder that burden?
Maybe they don't but why the free samples and what not. They put their name to every prescription they prescribe. I dunno, do the drug stores throw those in the trash when their done?
Just like the three consecutive doctors who have felt G's soft prostate since his diagnosis when it was hard and can't tell him at all "good job," "what did you do?" "keep up the good work," not one congratulations on saving your own life. Not one mention what did you do, they didn't want to hear it. The 3rd doctor, who G never told he had been diagnosed with cancer after checking him out for infection, had the nerve to tell him directly to his face that he didn't beat cancer after we asked him about the cancer and he said,"what cancer?" with a shocked face. We knew at that moment there was no obvious signs of cancer and this was nearly six months after he cured himself. The doc left the office mad and came back in moments later with his medical records from the other hospital and straight up told him to his face he didn't beat cancer. That was your caring doctor right there!
Ahh, here we go...the God-given natural plants of the earth are the bad guys now. lol. Good one.
His most recent levels are lower than they were, but he is still having problems with enlargement, but how many men over the age of 70 aren't? And, his prostate is still soft at his most recent physical two weeks ago. He still had no problems with pain either. Face it Doc, he cured himself without a doctor...it is amazing isn't it?
This cure plan takes three weeks...just three weeks. What does someone have to lose if they already being told they are going to die? I recommend that a person keep with the plans of whatever traditional route they take, but take the time first for this plan...just three weeks and see what happens, it'll blow your minds. Accept it Doc!

Seems like you are vilifying the medical industry. People often forget who diagnosed the problem in the first place, it would have stayed hidden and ended up with bad result.
Hopefully there is no regression when diet is changed back.
This is why I, in my own life, try to take both a medical and health in general approach. If not for chance and doctors, I wouldn't have found out about a 2.5 inch cyst on my right kidney three weeks ago. I went in to have an MRI of my lumbar two days before having a spinal cord stimulator trial. Well, the next day when I got the MRI report, I was incredibly shocked to read "There is a lesion of the right kidney, likely a large cyst with simple features measuring up to 6.3cm". I freaked out. I set up an ultrasound with my primary care doctor of my kidneys to check on it. We don't have the full results yet, this was a few days ago, but it seems to be just a simple fluid filled cyst. And I found out my entire mothers side of the family has Polycystic Kidney Disease (But no renal failure. Just cysts themselves).
Without that scan, I would have had no idea. And this scared me into being even healthier. I am going to watch my sodium even more than I used to. I already don't touch fast food, but I do consume meat and dairy. I do buy 80% of my food organic and GMO-free. Produce is always organic, as is dairy and meat products. I even buy organic whole wheat pasta if I need pasta for something.
Then I think.. wow, if I had never gotten injured in the first place all those years ago, and developed this disease from the nerve damage, and went ahead with this treatment finally.. I would have had no idea about the cyst. At least now we can keep an eye on it. Still scary when you find out something that large is growing inside of you, and you had absolutely no idea. I now can't stop thinking about just how many things are growing in all of our bodies, and we don't know!
