OP, have you looked into iodine for the prostate enlargement? Back in the day, this used to be the cure for an enlarged prostate.

Google "iodine and the prostate". It has helped MANY people. The skin, prostate, and breast tissues are the biggest users of iodine, and we get nearly none in the standard American diet. Also see this guy:

OP, dont be too hard on the docs, they are just as brainwashed as everyone else, probably more so because they've got constant contact with big pharma's highly trained liars...um... I mean sales reps.

How many people die/will die because we make excuses for them?

It's time to be hard on them.

I believe it's a little more than brainwashing...I think there's extra income involved as well. If we all learned that there are alternatives to the dangerous drugs being pushed on the masses everyday, they'd (Big Pharma and the doctors who push for them) be out billions! Can't put a patent on a plant.

They have a lot to protect. It's just too bad people have to pay the price. Think about it...G has a lot of pain from this infection and after two weeks Flowmax hasn't worked, so what does the doc want to do, prescribe a stronger dose and talk about surgery, rather than recommend some common household remedies that have worked for ages. What would it hurt to try something such as the ideas presented here tonight, but they are absolutely dead set against it and have the nerve to roll their eyes at you when you suggest it. So, the doctor would rather have G continue to suffer using a prescribed drug than try anything that might work. We have to go home from the doctor's office and punch in a few Google search terms to find a better fix than Flowmax.

Now G worries that he won't be able to find a non-biased doctor who will work with him keeping an open mind. I worry as well after three doctors.

I'm 100% with you on alternative remedies. I'm in the uk, and although big pharma is having its way with our GP's, most of them are still reasonable, but I sometimes forget the difference between the UK and the US, so maybe my comment was in error.

When we were trying to reduce the amount of drugs my father was on a doctor recommended we replace his Flowmax with Saw palmetto. The herb came in a supplement bottle like a vitamin. It worked really well for him. Maybe that would help G?

Rez - Bravo for your tenacity!

I feel for you so much as I have been in your same shoes and getting the same "rolled eyes" routine from the medical establishment.

Sometimes I just want to get in my car and scream as loud as I can "what is wrong with these arses!!!"

Please don't give up. Find another doctor. Perhaps find someone who specializes in Molecular Biology. They may be more educated on alternative methods that the "general practioner".

I have lots more to add about Vitamin C to my thread... later when I have time. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. John McDonald (Christopher Reeve's doctor) last night and he has been proving all my theories of Vitamin C in his lab in Vitro and is ready to take it to the next step in animal testing!

I bet G would like to meet that doctor...one who isn't afraid to recommend a natural herb. They're far and few between.

Another one of God's medicines denied for the almighty dollar. Pretty sad really. All these plants that surround us have so much purpose in our lives and the health care industry does everything it can to bury it so that they can turn around and charge us to improve our health.

Take a look around these days. Over the summer my business has me traveling all over the place around Wisconsin and even recently down to Oklahoma and do you know what I realized in all these towns I travel through...the only construction going on nowadays is the building of new mega-hospitals and state-of-the-art clinics. And that's not even an exaggeration. I ask you all to start paying attention. I'll bet you live in a town, or have one next door with a new hospital or clinic being built, or a major remodel project going on in your existing facility.

That sums it up perfectly...the health care industry in this country is raking in $2.5 trillion a year. You think they wouldn't do whatever is necessary to protect that. I wonder how much of that is spent per year on lobbyists to make sure Congress helps them protect it. I wonder then, how much do those congressmen take home in some form or another. It really is sad that we're all a bunch of pawns and this "Run for a Cure" spells it out perfectly.

Over here in the uk its hospitals and schools. Small local hospitals and schools being replaced with massive buildings designed to accommodate thousands, and all privately owned!

Slightly off topic, but you ask if people have noticed the amount of hospitals being built, well I noticed something else. I spent many years truck driving. This took me all over the uk and sometimes onto large private properties where the very rich live. I kept noticing drilling rigs on these properties. Eventually I found out they were drilling for water so that they had their own private supplies. All these rigs appeared over about a 12 month period. A couple of years later our Priminister announced he wanted to pump fluoride into our water!
I think this ties in with all the hospitals being built because there's much evidence that fluoride causes serious long term money making illness.

Not to stick up for Big Pharma or Big Health...or the US health care system...but have you noticed the demography of late? There is a huge wave of Boomers becoming seniors and they actively seek out communities with hospitals nearby. They (we) are also the generation that votes, AND are sitting on a lot of dough in terms of pensions and real estate. Not everything is a conspiracy, ya know?

Just a quick thought.

Does anyone here realize that docs don't make money from prescribing medications? It's not like their is a vending machine in the front office that you stick your credit card in that ends up in our offices account. Also, oncologists are some of the best people on this entire planet. Many of them battle death everyday, and are able to shake it off and walk in to see the next patient battling death with a smile on their face. They never give up on their patients and ALWAYS fight for the best outcomes.

Also, I came across that docs are brainwashed by big pharma to push drugs all the time; this simply is not true. In fact, big pharma is being pushed further and further out of the offices. We are sometimes allotted free samples of certain types of drugs to give to patients who couldn't afford them to begin with. Besides that the gifts they use to give, eg: sporting events, office supplies, PENS, have all gone the way of the dodo.

You turn doctors into villains yet you've never been to med school, you don't practice medicine, nor do you understand the underlying physiology of the situation, let alone how the medications (which in many instances are derived from plants) effect the physiology of the disease and the disease progression.

It sounds like the new diet made your FIL healthier overall, and that's amazing. I would still be concerned about his prostate. What is his current PSA level? How has it risen/fallen since his first round of tests? Can you chart his PSA into a graphical representation (PSA/time) so we can see how it is?

The title of your thread is very misleading. You have no proof that the "cure" you prescribe is working. What happens when someone with a more aggressive form of this disease comes across this thread, turns his back on traditional medicine, and follows your cure? What happens if he dies? Are you willing to shoulder that burden?

First you replace people's plant based food ingredients with industrial chemicals and preservatives, then you sell them a cure when they take ill from being poisoned. Big big $$$

Maybe they don't but why the free samples and what not. They put their name to every prescription they prescribe. I dunno, do the drug stores throw those in the trash when their done?

Just like the three consecutive doctors who have felt G's soft prostate since his diagnosis when it was hard and can't tell him at all "good job," "what did you do?" "keep up the good work," not one congratulations on saving your own life. Not one mention what did you do, they didn't want to hear it. The 3rd doctor, who G never told he had been diagnosed with cancer after checking him out for infection, had the nerve to tell him directly to his face that he didn't beat cancer after we asked him about the cancer and he said,"what cancer?" with a shocked face. We knew at that moment there was no obvious signs of cancer and this was nearly six months after he cured himself. The doc left the office mad and came back in moments later with his medical records from the other hospital and straight up told him to his face he didn't beat cancer. That was your caring doctor right there!

His most recent levels are lower than they were, but he is still having problems with enlargement, but how many men over the age of 70 aren't? And, his prostate is still soft at his most recent physical two weeks ago. He still had no problems with pain either. Face it Doc, he cured himself without a doctor...it is amazing isn't it?

What happens when someone with a more aggressive form of this disease comes across this thread, turns his back on traditional medicine, and follows your cure? What happens if he dies? Are you willing to shoulder that burden?

This cure plan takes three weeks...just three weeks. What does someone have to lose if they already being told they are going to die? I recommend that a person keep with the plans of whatever traditional route they take, but take the time first for this plan...just three weeks and see what happens, it'll blow your minds. Accept it Doc!

The free samples are for the benefit of the patients who can't afford the medications that they need, or for medications that aren't covered by their insurances. Sometimes it is a better option then prescribing a generic.

Prescriptions are filled, and then logged into a database. The prescription must be tied to a physician; having the prescribing physicians name makes it easy to authenticate, if the physician did not write the prescription it could be proven to be a forgery which is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. If a prescription is called in, then the pharmacy needs many pieces of information, and sometimes a physician authentication number.

You're generalizing an entire profession based off of 3 individuals? Do you think that is fair? Imagine if an alien race visited 3 murderers? Would they judge our entire species off of those 3 people? Is that fair?

Regardless, the last doctor was probably more annoyed that you lied about the patients history rather then the alternative treatment.

Ahh, here we go...the God-given natural plants of the earth are the bad guys now. lol. Good one.

I'm actually saying the exact opposite. Many chemical substances used in medications have been derived from plants. Do you know how many plants you would need to consume to get the necessary levels in the body in these instances? How much of the consumed amount would be destroyed by the bodies stomach acids? You might as eat an entire crop a day! Or you could just take a pill with the necessary extracts in a more effective carrier.

Did he have a second biopsy? With a Gleason score of 7 I would be adamant about my loved one having a second biopsy to "confirm" your belief that he has been cured. Having a needle biopsy is a much more accurate test then any subjective palpation testing. I know the testing isn't pleasant, but it would make him and his family feel better.

This cure plan takes three weeks...just three weeks. What does someone have to lose if they already being told they are going to die? The fact that you continuously call this a cure is mind blowing to me. You have no proof of a cure!

Also, if a person had an aggressive form of cancer, and they chose your route over traditional medications/treatment, then they could lose time. Time they could spend with their loved ones, time the py could use to make peace with friends and family, time to see a wedding/birth/graduation, time they could have stopped a cancer from metastasizing !

Throughout this thread you have referred to traditional medications as poisons, and the basis behind your entire cure is detoxification of the body. So using logic wouldn't that defeat the purpose or your proposed "cure"? You've contradicted yourself.

You have done an excellent job improving your FILs health. You have not provided a cure for cancer. If you have cured cancer please provide us all with the medical treatment plan that was done, as well as the biopsy report pre diet and the post diet biopsy showing that he was "cured".

Note: as stated previously, I am a medical student, please don't address me as doc until I have earned that rite.

Note 2: I saw where you believe that doctors receive a "kick back" from drug companies to prescribe their product. This has never been the case for my grandfather (started practicing medicine in the 1960s), nor my father (who started practicing medicine in the early 90s). You just assume these things are true without any verification or validation.

Note 3: my family has cared for close to 6 generations of people. My family runs a tight office, and we care about each and every patient. We answer every single phone call that comes in, even after normal business hours. You don't know every doctor, nor the internal workings of the health care system.

Here is one for you.
I wonder if these claims are valid.

Clean Gut by Alejandro Junger MD (2013): What to eat and foods to avoid

The diet in this book claims to reduce the risks for: abdominal distention, aches and pains, food allergies, seasonal allergies, arthritis, asthma, autoimmune diseases, back pain, bad breath, bloating, body odor, cancer, cholecystitis, constipation, cramping, Crohn’s disease, depression, diabetes, diverticulitis, dysbiosis, eczema, gas, gastroesophageal reflux GERD, gluten sensitivity, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, heart disease, hemorrhoids, hormonal imbalances, infertility, inflammatory bowel disease IBD, insomnia, iritis, irritable bowel syndrome IBS, lack of libido, leaky gut / hyperpermeability, mood swings, peptic ulcers, skin lesions, tiredness/fatigue, ulcerative colitis, yeast overgrowth; also premature aging

This suggests a clean gut is key to overall health?

P.S.
nice thread and exchange.

Hopefully there is no regression when diet is changed back.

This is why I, in my own life, try to take both a medical and health in general approach. If not for chance and doctors, I wouldn't have found out about a 2.5 inch cyst on my right kidney three weeks ago. I went in to have an MRI of my lumbar two days before having a spinal cord stimulator trial. Well, the next day when I got the MRI report, I was incredibly shocked to read "There is a lesion of the right kidney, likely a large cyst with simple features measuring up to 6.3cm". I freaked out. I set up an ultrasound with my primary care doctor of my kidneys to check on it. We don't have the full results yet, this was a few days ago, but it seems to be just a simple fluid filled cyst. And I found out my entire mothers side of the family has Polycystic Kidney Disease (But no renal failure. Just cysts themselves).

Without that scan, I would have had no idea. And this scared me into being even healthier. I am going to watch my sodium even more than I used to. I already don't touch fast food, but I do consume meat and dairy. I do buy 80% of my food organic and GMO-free. Produce is always organic, as is dairy and meat products. I even buy organic whole wheat pasta if I need pasta for something.

Then I think.. wow, if I had never gotten injured in the first place all those years ago, and developed this disease from the nerve damage, and went ahead with this treatment finally.. I would have had no idea about the cyst. At least now we can keep an eye on it. Still scary when you find out something that large is growing inside of you, and you had absolutely no idea. I now can't stop thinking about just how many things are growing in all of our bodies, and we don't know!

you need to enjoy life and stop worrying about disease.

so go and have a Big Mac enjoy and feel satisfied.

Live fast and die young.

you don't get prizes for living old and wearing diapers in a nursing home.

so go out and treat yourself to a Big Mac.
