Yep, everyone has a choice to make a fool out themselves and their religion in a very public way.

hm... so if you're against homosexuality and you express that you're a fool?

Nice indoctrination.
sheep

Hilarious you should mention the word sheep and indoctrination. If you express it in an bigoted, hypocritical and counteractive way. Sure, a real fool.

yea... hilarious. Listen, people have the right to their own opinion. Theres nothing hypocritical and "counteractive" - she just doesnt agree with homosexuality - why is it so hard for people to let other people have their opinion.

So I'm allowed to have mine too right? In my opinion she is not "just" disagreeing. She's being malicious, hypocritical an a liar by making up ridiculous statistics and repeating her pastor's agenda verbatim.

Why do we all have to be part of the same gray, uninteresting, uninspired, uniform mass that seem to come out of the same assembly line? Stop calling names to whoever has a different opinion and dont force stuff down people's throats, specially when they dont want the koolaid you're selling.

Um...are you for real? You are proving my point. Why do we all have to be straight, christian etc etc. We've been drinking THAT Koolaid for far too long.

The funniest thing about tolerance is that often tolerant people are intolerant towards intolerance. Try to think of yourself as "superior" and show those intolerants what really mean to be tolerant, being tolerant towards their intolerance.

Save it for Oprah.

And yes...
sheep.

Emoticons and childish provocations. You are not fit for a mature conversation.

Referring to the lyrics cited in the OP's post:

She has a higher standard on who she dates?
So if I date a man that's a "lower standard" than if she dates a man?
Or maybe she just thinks her boyfriend is incredibly hot and gifted and thus a higher standard to other men?
I won't hate you for being a bit vain girlfriend.

Knowing the general logic of these groups she is probably trying to say that people who date somebody of the same sex have a lower standard than heterosexuals, but it sure comes out open to interpretation.

Then she says that everybody has a choice with whom to "fornicate" (I love the KJV lingo).
Attraction isn't brought into the rap at all.
Sex is described in very animalistic terms, or as a covenant between Jesus and a heterosexual couple.
There's a lot of other sex going on outside of that and gay people.
I expect there will be more raps on fornicating preachers and heterosexuals who will also be going to hell unless she brings them to repentance with her rap videos.
I'm sure the "innocent" voice of a young woman will make them all see the light (ha, ha, ha).
Yes there's choices of behavior in a range of attractions, but gay men simply couldn't fornicate with women because they're not attracted to them.
I'd like to see her choose to fornicate with somebody she's absolutely not attracted to (for the sake of argument, no pics required).
She appears to be saying that she's only straight because of her "higher standards" and she could choose to fornicate with women.
Is she bisexual, but chooses heterosexuality only because of her religion?
If sexuality and attraction are just a choice then everyone would be naturally and potentially bisexual.

Well, I wish her a long and monogamous life of fornicating with her chosen husband.
May she stop dating, get married and be as fruitful as the Garden of Eden while she is still young and fertile.
Walk the talk sister.

I just don't want them to burn in a lake of fire, for love's sake.

Wait a minute? I thought her god was love? So why would he be torturing people in a lake of fire for love? She just contradicted her self and it is so simple to see, but somehow she can't...

She has the right to speak nonsense.

She has the right to be a hypocrite
(gay "lust" is evil and will lead you to hell but straight "lust" will not lead you to hell so quickly somehow).

She has the right to openly contradict herself, and those with any sort of intelligence will see it. those without, will probably be ignorant enough to agree with her anyway.

"In the end there are two gates: one that's golden and one that separates."

Then she says it's either your "fate" or your "mate" (last line).

At face value this is more metaphoric and unreal than conceptual art.
There's two gates, and one separates, or rather it separates further because two gates already connote separation.

I think she means here there's heaven (the golden gate) or hell (separation from God into an eternal torture chamber).

So, if you "choose" to be straight you go to heaven, and if you "choose" to be gay you go to hell.
What a simplistic assumption of choice against gay Christians who spent years or even lifetimes wrestling with religious issues.
They all just got "separated".
Talk about a God complex!
So because she knows the words "reprobate" and "fornication" she can now speak for God?

But worst of all, gays must give up their "mate", or partner.
Having a long-term monogamous relationship is exactly what reduces HIV rates.
If she really cared about HIV she'd encourage all people to be faithful and stick to their partners.

Oh well, some religious people can only imitate.
I mean gay people like Michelangelo, Da Vinci or Alan Turing never thought of anything original
.
And yeah, there are some examples of straight marriages that people should imitate, and many others that should be avoided at all costs.

Her view is simplistic. She makes it seem like the main focus of the religion is to be or not to be gay. If you "choose" straight that is all that matters and you get to the golden door of heaven. If you "choose" gay then you go to the separated door.

Her God of "love" wants to separate people, and torture gays for choosing love...

Yes, and while she manages to be shortly descriptive of hell (baking in a lake of fire - I guess she likes baking), heaven is reduced to a "golden gate".
That's not much of a carrot.
Sounds a bit kitsch really.

Then she says homosexuality is a poison that intoxicates the mind to make gays think they cannot control their choices.
But then she says they do actually have those choices, thus negating her previous point.

Elements of the far right, Christianity and Satanism do have certain commonalities.
In fact, both Christianity and Satanism have been embraced by individuals who are open neo-Nazis (which includes homophobia), although such splinter groups don't mean that the majority of Christians or Satanists share these views.

At the time of the Larson interview (I'd assume the late 1980s) Zeena and Nikolas Schreck were appearing on programs to counter the Satanic-panic (which happened to coincide with the explosion of the AIDS crisis in the US).
I'd assume what Schreck says here is influenced by the context of that time, although Zeena seems to disagree with him and suggests The Church of Satan had performed same-sex marriages.
Schreck had a band called Radio Werewolf that used Nazi imagery and attracted far right skinheads, although it's uncertain to what extent he was a white supremacist, or simply espousing a kind of cultural anarchy.
It's also debatable whether his "Werewolf Order" actively existed, or whether it was just him and his manifesto.
The latest on Google suggests that Zeena left The Church of Satan and the Schrecks eventually became Tantric Buddhists.
wikibin.org...

The Church of Satan denies it is homophobic, although it has individuals from many political persuasions (including fascists) and it doesn't impose political views: www.churchofsatan.com...

Christianity does not own homophobia, and there are anti-gay Muslims, African traditionalists, atheists, communists, Hare Krishnas, Fulan Gong, Moonies (almost any mind-control cult) and I've even had an encounter with a homophobic Wiccan.
Except perhaps for Islamists and some Africanists however, few are as fervently anti-gay or obsessively focused on the topic as fundamentalist Christians.
Some are however learning fast how populist this can be, as gays can easily be blamed for encroaching modernist values or foreign cultural contamination, and how offering (or forcing) unique "cures" can reinforce the supposed truth of their world-views.

For the purposes of this thread I'd say that if any of them have a teenager who raps about gays on Youtube, then I'd love to reply to that too.

Yes, people will believe what they want the religion is just the "mask" they hide behind.

If someone doesn't like gays for whatever reason, it is their right as long as they aren't causing harm for others or trying to deny their freedoms/rights. I just do not like dishonest people who use the religion as an excuse instead of just being honest and saying "hate, I just don't like them because I'm not used to them" or "I feel uncomfortable around them" - that would be more worthy of respect in my opinion then this lie of just quoting scripture verses.

You'd be surprised how much humans in general have in common. I don't hate gays, I personally, HONESTLY do believe that homosexuality is a sin, just one of MANY that we humans are capable of committing.
See, from what I gather, LOTS of people are interested in who is having sex with who, this thread is a classic example of people who are interested in the sex lives of others.
You give off that vibe that you are one to cater to the lowest common denominator, those that are willfully ignorant.
I said what I said because the member lupodigubbio made a thread bashing a girl and/or so that others may say a few choice words to demean the girl in the video and others who may believe that homosexuality is wrong.
In my opinion, most people here don't care about homosexuals as individuals, they care about homosexuality in general, just as they don't care about this rapping individual whether she raps for it or against it.

Star for telling others that Christians are not the only ones against the homosexual ideology. I know that Christianity does not own homophobia, for myself personally, as a former U.S.Army member, I knew a lot of gay people and I wasn't scared of any of them, but still I believe that lusting after others be it of the same or opposite sex, is a sin. I think it's bad that so many Christians AND athiests, ect. are soooo obsessed with whose having sex with who.

Well people can think it's a sin, or a lifestyle or whatever.
Actually it's a sexual orientation and not any specific act, just like being heterosexual is a sexual orientation.
Even if a heterosexual man never has sex in his whole life, he will still be a heterosexual.
The same goes for being homosexual.

Christians however also generally believe that all human beings are born into sin, since God cursed Adam and Eve.
So, to take 4 or 5 dodgy verses and connect them as a new cornerstone of Christianity is just bizarre.

I think there has been some ironic and robust commentary, but I think nobody insulted the young woman personally, or made derogatory comments.
Her rap was criticized, for sure, but nobody said she was anything bad.

Anyway, not against anybody in this thread, but I feel some anger on the issue for this reason:

My concern is the absolute lack of love and empathy of whosoever influenced her to do this. This could destroy her life and any career.

Just imagine every racist who was anti-civil rights had an Internet back in the 1960s, and all their rants against black people were forever left to posterity (with similar arguments on higher STD rates, while doctors left black patients to die from treatable Syphilis in Tuskegee).

Yeah, big strong fundamentalist Christian patriarchs using teen girls to spread their wicked mental poison.
I pity this girl and what religion has done to her. Actually one of the worst cases of religious abuse I've seen in ages.

I disagree, with a lot of what you've said, and I highly doubt that her rap "could destroy her life and any career/", Racists weren't born racists..don't know why you're trying to get me to imagine things that have not been, are not, and can never be true. Strange.

Of course this could influence her future, and the cult that indoctrinated her to do this is responsible.

They take advantage of young people.

People aren't born racists, nor are they born homophobic Bible thumpers.

Maybe it won't disadvantage her, but why get people like her to do this and take the chance?

But the preacher who did this to her probably thinks she won't need a career anyway.

Reminds me a lot of the Wesboro kids that escaped that cult, and they still deal with stigma because of what their preacher made them do.

Why isn't she responsible for her own actions? Because you think that gay people aren't responsible for who they CHOOSE to lie down with?
Can you show me evidence that she was commissioned by a particular group (eg. Westboro) or are we just going to go by conjecture here?

But having similarities with a Satanic group can't be good can it? I thought Christianity was all for the greater good? Having similarities with Satanism is very bad, Christianity is supposed to be against Satan.
