Regardless of party bickering, I think it should be important to note the overall trend is that people are not satisfied with their institutions, and more so as time goes on.
The Gallup poll shows that congress is dead last in confidence amongst people. See chart below.

Various institutions have markedly lower confidence levels within recent years – media, schools, government, churches – the list is telling.
Also to note, a quote here from Oxfordjournals.org:
“…we provide evidence that individuals with low confidence in institutions exhibit low levels of political participation, show increased tolerance for violent means to achieve political ends…”

Whoever has the money has the power to put whomever they want into office. The rest of us can stew about it, but until a major action is taken by the people at large, nothings gonna change.
Knowing that the vast majority of sheeple, erm people will vote amongst the two biggest players is a gamble that has 50/50 odds. Easy bet. We need to break the cycle. Unlimited and undisclosed campaign funding? Really? What a deal America, what a deal….

Wow....After reading thru some of these posts, I now understand why this country is falling apart. The President lies and lies for 4 years plus, after lying for 2 years during his first campaign and people are now surprised that he isn't the man they voted for and re-elected only 4 months ago???

OH, the President is just a thinker and that is why he takes long pauses.....NO, he does that so he can make up lies in his head (Body language anyone).

We were always told has children that 2 wrongs, don't make a right. Well, we have 2 Political Parties and they BOTH do really, really, wrong things for America, and nothing ever ends up right. The writer of the post compares Obama to Bush....well of course because they are finally realizing that neither party has any interest in "REALLY" fixing America for Americans and not Politicians!!

It’s been very interesting to read the replies to this thread. In my opening post to the collection, I tried to be a little more forgiving...a little more understanding of the people that chose to vote this way. I soundly disagreed with them, but they are allowed their voice. After all, I believe in freedom and personal responsibility. What kind of a hypocrite would I be if I said you are free to vote as long as you don’t vote for that guy or that one over there?

I have pondered the choices people made. It makes me wonder…why? Why do some of our fellow citizens feel that we need a Nanny/Police state to take care of them? To me, the answer is clear…fear…plain and simple fear.

They fear the unknown, they fear failure…they fear responsibility. They fear they may not have the necessary intestinal fortitude to rise to the station in life they are told as children they can have. So instead of doing your best and maybe failing once or twice or a dozen times…why not just wait for someone to give it to you and let the community pay for it. If it means the loss of a few rights…that’s ok…right?

No, it’s not ok.

I would rather be poor and free than in a comfortable prison cell. The cell might not have walls and bars that you can see, but they are there…just try to step beyond them and see what happens.

I applaud those that have the guts to look around and say it as they see it now “this is not what I thought was going to happen”…it’s a start. It would have been nice for this revelation to have come sooner…later is better than never.

There is and has only been one solution to our problems…freedom. Freedom in choices, freedom in commerce, freedom in economic opportunity…if you want to fix our broken system…the first step is to remove all the boundaries and cow herder obstacles…”We the people” can take it from there…

The whole romney would be worst is wrong. I voted for Gary but I knew Obama would win n I knew he would be the worst if not the one or the worst presidents, base on his communist connections in the past, the eugenics men in his cabinet, n the fact the the globalist owned media supported him. Romney even though supported by the same interest, would had to shuffled the crazy people in office n would have slow the government takeover down. But in a way I was glad Obama won because I think more people are waking up to him.

Edit: Heff, I will not "rub your nose in it", I would have only voted for Ron Paul myself, but regardless of how you voted we are all in the same boat now. I truly hope he reads the open letter and has it brought to his attention. I have a sneaking suspicion that your eloquent and well thought out meaningful words will fall on deaf ears (blind eyes?) however. No point in blaming Obama for this mess he's just a front man.

The U.S. Govt is run by the banks and foriegn intrests. Every bill that is passed, every attack on the constitution, every push towards socialism/control is to benefit them.

We elect puppets who are manipulated by the "system" through back-door deals that put money in the politicians pockets so they keep doing what they are told. Then they use the media to sell it to us saying: "Thats the only way it works" and "blame the (insert political party or group) it's their fault."

All the while most of us just say: "Who care's about politics, did you see the (insert tv show/sporting event)?".

Most people dont care about politics/govt until they get hurt and I truely believe that is what it's going to take for any real changes to occur.

It sucks but I think putting our faith in politicians just doesnt work anymore.

That is exactly what they are doing but let's not call them "the powers that be" they are the global elite, the top 1% of the world's population that control all the wealth. These are the people that have manufactured the system of debt slavery that we are subject to and they keep us at each others throats because it distracts us from seeing who the real controllers are.
