Are willing to go to a foreign hostile nation, and defend the people there, who can not do so for them selves.

If the "defending" that Iraqis and Afghans have received from the US military is any indication, I am sure Americans better run if the US military is ordered to "defend" Americans on US soil.

And that's where things get blurry... everyone has their own sense of what "Lawful" is or should be.

That's an easy one. If one carries a copy of the Constitution in his or her pocket, they have a direct reference to the highest law in the land!

Isn't that book available to the POTUS and members of the Congress? Why would you expect its interpretation by the members of the US military be any different from theirs?

From 1z observations of how the consciousness can be COLLECTIVLEY manipulated. 1 feels it would require some type of unseen activity to pull the Troops into locations and their Ranks into ACCEPTANCE or ok-Go mode. Those scenarios 1 will allow your imaginations to evaluate.

But it seems the Troops would have to be placed or located first then something happen to trigger a immediate conscious/physical RESPONSE to SOMETHING and then the Soldiers would be already in engage mode consciously and physically dealing with (whatever scenario) In turn the tyrannical government system as shared in OP would basicall implode from within being controlled from out... Which in the end may serve a or one of potential many HIDDEN AGENDA unaware of by those that some may feel are or should be aware..

Interesting OP ItsAConspiracy, Shivery code ORIGINAL;GOLDEN RULE DNA codes within the many & ranks included is why a conscious SHOCK is or would need to be provided to orchestrate.. (whatever scenario)

NAMASTE
LOVE LIGHT ETERNIA*******

I'm sorry.

Again?

Well that is what they are trained for paid for.

But those who pay them are not idiots and don't issue orders like, go and fire on those guys and kill them. They are given objectives to achieve, like taking control of a territory or situation and they do what is necessary to achieve the objective with minimal loss to themselves.

So if they are ordered to disarm a bunch of domestic terrorists, for example, they will attempt to do so and in the process kill the domestic terrorists if the need arises.

Unless you were there, you probably have only half of the story and a skewed one at that.

We conducted humanitarian efforts, including bringing in food and water, as well as presence patrols because they wanted us there, and thanked us daily, bringing us falafels and fruits.. They told me, and my fellow Cavalry men that.

We removed the IEDs from their roads, and secured the towns from al qeada so the children could go back to school. Sunni and Shia in the same schools.

So...

Fine then. I am sure the Americans surviving the "help" too would thank the US military. I wouldn't wish anything less on the Americans than the "humanitarian" help the US military brought to Iraqis and Afghans.

Two reason really. Members of the armed forces can read and interpret simple text in the context in which it is written. They are not generally liars/lawyers.

The answer is and always will be "no."

Thanks for posting, though.

And that Specialist doesn't understand his Oath. He will if he has good NCO's.

"Front-leaning rest position, MOVE." "All the way up, all the way down." Repeat. Ask again.

i hate to reference star wars but think about it the republic had a military sort of it had ships it had jedi jedi are like the ultimate special forces. palpatine created a new armed force beside the first that answered only him the clone troopers. now back to reality we have the army navy airforce. ok but now they arming dhs and irs agents while cuting back on support for military. they are trying to disarm the public but local leos and dhs they are arming because they don't answer to congress they do whatever his highness king barry suggests. see the parallels dhs would absorb all law enforcement in times of emergency and they aren't sworn to protect anything. they are no better than a merc force they will do whatever they are told to do by there boss .

Where in history has a population had world class firepower in it's hands?
We are in TOTALLY new territory here.We are now making history by our tolerance because we aren't monsters and never have been.
A select few have taken their awful toll but we are a lot more informed and connected again for the first time in history. If this trend continues we will become closer together as we realize who the other guy is.War will become obsolete and TPTB hate it,so they devised a way to seperate us from each other AKA a difference in brainwashing old vs new.
That is what is our true fight here.

Hey, I was in OIF V as CAV (1BDE, 3ID) as well, and you know what, your experience sounded much like mine.

We had an awesome time over there from my perspective, and while knowing the whole war was a farce in the first place, was able to make the best of it with no regrets.

That's a tough one to answer! From my experience yes we were well received, but looking at the big picture it was clear that we as a whole were not welcome to occupy their country.

On topic: Most should disobey blatantly unlawful orders, but some might carry them out without question.
Here's to hoping we will never have to find out!

No. (Allow me to elaborate slightly on this; yes and no...every one's experience is different, even two people who share the same events.)

I was with the 1st Cavalry Division, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team/Grey Wolf, 6Th Squadron 9th Regiment, Apache Troop. FOB Normandy, Diyala Province. Conducting RSTA and other full spectrum operations, we spent more time off the FOB than on.

That was how I preferred it too.

To the OP.

Yes, they will, like they are defending this tyrannical government and the one before it and the one before......

Most are brainwashed zombies.

In short, I think that some would and others would not.

I think that to a large extent it would depend one what was happening and how that story was being disseminated.

Of course knowing that people who haven't served don't know I would say not really.
Evil is obvious.

Our population does not have world class firepower. Our population has the kind of firepower that would have been organic to a rifle platoon in the 20th century.

Our population has no answer for 20th century heavy weapons such as the Mk-19 belt fed grenade launcher (40mm grenades raining on you from almost a mile away, one every second and a half, from just one humvee), the M242 Bushmaster (25mm depleted uranium rounds that will shred a tank at close range- easily able to make your last few seconds a living hell from almost 2 miles away).. and I don't think I have to explain the Abrams tank, howitzers, or the Daisy Cutter.

Never mind 21st century firepower- they'll gas you with something that makes you throw down your gun and start having passionate gay sex with your platoon mates, then robots will creep over the horizon and blind you with lasers and burn you with microwave radiation, then flying robots will launch missiles at you, then guys in armor that your rifle can't defeat wearing armor that doesn't show up on your thermals will advance on you through a cloud of smoke firing smart bullets which can actually home in on you and explode right over your head even if you take cover.

And they won't just break out those big guns and come after you either. They will agree with your position when you stand up. They will say, "these crazies have state of the art weapons and they are making unprovoked attacks on law enforcement like James Dorner on steroids, but nobody worry, under the new Homeland Security legislation we can use state of the art non-lethal military technology to burn them blind them and make them sodomize eachother without hitting a single innocent bystander". And those who don't know the score will be so happy they were able to do all of that to you, because it's better than a bloody scary issue-in-doubt fire fight in the middle of their neighborhood.

Here's what I think. Every worker in this country needs to put food on the table, have shelter and provide for their families. Police and soldiers are no different. If they don't follow orders they don't get paid or they will lose their job. No matter how wrong they may feel about enforcing an order, they still need to provide for their families. I'm sure some police didn't like the idea of cracking down on the occupy protesters, but unless you have a complete consensus among other soldiers and police officers to ignore an order, they will feel they have no other choice but to defend the government. They're simply in between a rock and a hard place. It really all depends if they get 99% of the troops and police force to revolt.

Sure they will, and they've had a couple of wars that has got most of them used to killing, and some I'm sure have come to enjoy the power it gives them (more than likely it is they who will become cops). If they can kick open the doors of houses overseas and kill the women and children, what's to stop them from doing it back home if they aren't related to those whose doors they're about to kick in?
It's a shame that many soldiers will be returning only to find that most prospective jobs, along with Obama's blessing, will have been given to illegals. If military members returning home have families to support, they'll have no choice but to stay with the armed forces. This will create winning situations for both the government, and industry. Members of the military get paid next to nothing, and illegals will work for even less.
