Independent Study Proves Guns Don’t Kill People *Shocking Evidence

Good test in my eyes. not ever American is a gun brandishing nutter on the verge of becoming a killing machine. why not change who is allowed guns? set a different criteria i.e if people are mentally unstable they need a review in 6 months per say.

This has been one of the most humorous posts I've read in some time, and it happens to be making a good point in the process. Kudos, OP. I can think of twenty people off the top of my head who aren't on ATS who would agree wholeheartedly.

And the argument is that no weapon kills lots of people every day, people use weapons to kill people every day that is a fact.

Its people like you that dont need guns, you seem to be mad at the world and would kill everyone if you could.

People also use their hands. Rocks, paper, and scissors, too; take a man's weapon away, and he'll make or find a new one for fear that someone has what he doesn't. Its just human nature to want to be equal, even if that means equally violent.

You know what he means when saying "Guns kill people", that OBVIUSLY there is a person behind, you guys are twisting a useless topic in to something even more useless.

No one has ever said that guns without a controller(person) is killing people, so stop spinning an obvius comment in to an argument.

He is proving a point about a conspiracy with a little humor. and also I believe he was using their logic. saying Guns kill people is ridiculous because without an operator guns wont kill people. without an operator nothing will kill anybody do you get it? banning weapons of any kind won't do a damn thing, because no matter what the criminals will always find a way to get them. we will be unarmed and have no real way of defending our selves against armed criminals.

This has to be the most ridiculous thread I've read for a long time.
The OP's argument of "guns don't kill people, people kill people" with the premise that leaving loaded guns laying around and nobody being killed proves the point is absurd. While it may be true and intended purely for comedic purposes it is totally foolish logic to use to prove a point which many on this thread have also used to argue the issue of gun control.
Naturally any object left laying around without the intervention of some force or action/reaction is not going to cause harm or death, that is logical.
A motor vehicle left laying around will not kill anyone but a fool behind the wheel will and often does.
Guns used for their intended purpose by a person do indeed kill people a motor vehicle doesn't.
Not all gun owners are irresponsible or mentally unstable but the problem is, some people who have access to firearms are.
The gun laws are designed to reduce the availability to those types of people.

Thier logic isn't that guns alone kill people, never have been , never will be, That is freaking obvius, and you guys a spinning it, the same thing as i said earlier, that guns alone don't prevent crime.

So no Op is not proving any point, cause there is no point, so his post is a humorus piece and belongs in the Joke forum.

As stated many many MANY times, knifes have different purpose than guns, so i am not ignoring that part.

The last part, yes people should stop saying " guns kill people" or you could just use your brain to think the thought, " I know that he/they dosn't mean Guns alone kill people when he/they says guns kill people".

No they are not, they say, "the guns are a problem when people can operate them", again you are twisting it.

They have allready "regulated the people", when telling them, please don't kill people with your gun, but that didn't help, so now they are regulating the guns....Simple.

Me and my two brothers, and we used to want to gouge out each others eyes some times when we were kids, well, there was this gun cabinet at our house, matter of fact, it's still there, no lock, ammo right there, been there for better part of 50 years, 12 ga., .410, .243, .22's, that 45.70, a pistol or two, ammo to boot, and we never, NEVER, grabbed up one of those guns with the thought of shootin' somebody,

NEVER even thought of shootin' our parents (I know, that sounds odd in this day and age) or each other.

Them guns had ample opportunity to murder and kill, but just simply stood by watchin' us kids beat the tar outta each other when we were fightin' over some bullcrap or other.

We never had the Wild West period like you guys. It's the Wild West mentality that lives on in America. Guns were never deemed as the essential tool Americans did. Massive cultural differences between our two nations. In fact we should be walking around with bow and arrows, to more reflect our cultural history with weapons.

Ummm...That's because you were all serfs and vassels for thousands of years. You've always lived under the heel as a subject and not as free men and women. So lets all agree that you've been bred to servitude as the mastered, as we've been bred to having our rights backed up with actual teeth. Defending ourselves is ingrained into our culture, just as throwing yourselves to the ground in supplication as your glorious knights protector rode by is ingrained in your culture....THAT my friend is the real difference between us and why you will never understand why we will never give up our tools of...SELF...protection. nope not twisting it just reading the post as they typed and some SEEM to be serious about guns can people and not people killing people.

but seriously though I think this thread needs to end because as I stated before the anti gun people will never see eye to eye with pro gun people. I feel it is a useless argument just like this thread has turned into.
