It's quite close to the US, is not it?
Maybe an old missile site ?

Would seem a more reasonable explanation than Hades !

Travel there would clearly be a challenge, if you could even get there to begin with. There are no roads, no infrastructure at all and rivers, bogs and tundra everywhere.

I saw a long clear line leading at an angle into the blur on the top when I zoomed in. It looked like the forrest had been cleared in a line for several miles...either rail or power?

Now, I’ve read the many explanations about why this place in Chukotka is the anomaly that it is. Dropped satellite pixels and mismatched image overlap seem to be the most plausible theories…but on every available satellite known to man (American, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and even Israeli)?

Can you provide the imagery or links to alternate images beyond google for comparison.

What if this is the location Rasputin went to when he traveled the woods alone for 2 years. Do you think he went to this location? And learned something to make him have the changes he had? Where is Rasputin go? He was probably the most psychic man in history. They say he wondered off into the Siberian forests for 2 years. When he returned he was glowing. Do you think this blurred spot has something to do with it? And the governments of the world have isolated the location and only visit it by helicopter? You make all sorts of claims to land travel.
But how hard would it be for a helicopter to fly in there? or a plane to fly by and drop off crates? You wouldn't need to see infrastructure if they don't want you to.

Also just wanted to bring this up cus i thought its hillarious. Possible Gap generator?

Or being so close to a silver gold mine I could see it being something like that. In Tom Clancy's book "The Bear and the Dragon" I seem to recall the NSA listening for key words involving oil/gold/silver etc...and them picking up that Russia had found the mother load and was keeping it quiet. I could see that really happening. Protecting resources and keeping them hidden.

If there truly is something to this whole mystery, I am inclined to think it may be something along these lines. The area is indeed very mineral rich. This is a known fact. If they've found a resource which has the potential to de-stabilize the world economy it would be in the best interests of many countries to not allow this discovery to be known, hence the blackout on numerous satellites from different countries.

Putting my tinfoil hat on for just a second, the story might go something like this...(hypothetically and exaggerated for emphasis) Russia discovers what amounts to a Mt. Everest of solid gold. If the gold were ever to make it to the economic markets entire empires would crumble overnight with the value of gold tumbling to near zero. Consequently, other countries like the US and China train their nuclear weapons on this location with the threat that if the Russians ever so much as even touch it they'll make it radioactive for 25,000 years.

Now if that isn't a good conspiracy theory, I don't know what is! (taking tinfoil hat off now).

aren't there rumours abound that russia has tapped into an unlimited source of abiotic oil?
this is a mineral rich area afterall, and the location of the goose with the golden eggs
would surely be a secret worth keeping.

Maybe the darkwebb blocked it ohhhh. Just strange they didnt match the areas and no one would be the wiser. Could be anything going on there its so remote and large with what seems like good access to the bay. Maybe a new sub facility in the making. Maybe someone knows ill check back. Great post OP

Google is a company, it's not the US government. In order to do business in the Russian market it needs cooperation. That means that it would be a bad move to post russian ICBM locations all over the web. Russias whole MAD strategy depends on a lot of warheads that are on undisclosed locations. Rest assured, the damage is still done with USA knowing about it. But, other enemies have a lesser chance of finding those places. Some of those locations might even be dummy-locations.

Don't know if any one has mentioned this, but roman abramovich sought to enter Russian politics and was governor of chutotka

He had a choice to keep his wealth ...or move into politics. Putin doesn't fool around.

He chose cash.

For a billionaire who used to love anonymity he became high profile pretty fast. Chelsea gave him profile and made him less of an easy assisination target.

en.wikipedia.org...

He likely still has rights to mineral wealth - it's a very rich source environment. Coal. Precious metals, the lot. If I owned it, I wouldn't want people,to easily see the environmental degradation

Agreed.

Let's try to stay on-topic here, folks!

Thanks.

P.S. I wish there was a way to remove / relocate some of the completely off-topic posts

What is hilarious is that they are blacked out...

Why you ask? Because what do we care or an "American" company care if we post secret bases of any country and make it public knowledge. Anyone care to answer how that has any impact on our national security and why if the photos were taken they shouldn't be in public domain?

There in lies the true conspiracy...

They still never explained how they got that thing in Orbit! Logically it would have had to have been built in orbit in order to withstand the weight...

I have to say with the information I have seen so far, you have the most plausible explanation of this anomaly.

BTW OP- terrific thread!

Obviously, one can get into the area, if there are functioning mines in the area. I also know myself of several areas in the US that have tremendous reserves of various minerals, usually disguising the areas as federal or state parks. 2 that come to mind are Isle Royale, MI, and the closed (but still functional) iron ore mine at Tower/Sudan in MN. You can actually go down into that particular mine, to the 28th level down, and yet one sees lights on at various locales as you descend into the shaft of this mine.

This area in Russia could very well be an extremely productive mine of some valuable mineral, or perhaps an old military, or even current, military, base. Very good one for someone to do more in depth research on. Thanks OP!

Question: If it truly is some sort of a military installation (old / new) why would it be obscured when vitrually all Russian nuclear submarine bases are in full view with high resolution images of boomers tied up in their moorings? Same goes for numerous Russian ICBM sites that you can find in hi-res all over Russia on Google maps? Nuclear research facilities, Russian area 51 like test centers, chemical weapon storage facilities...all in plain view.

Why would this one area be obscured when you can plainly look at all that other stuff?

Well, it was an abandoned old ICBM site/Airstrip back in 2007, since then the site claiming so has been taken out, and the area blurred out/obscoured on all the maps. It is obvious it is no ICBM site anymore, and what it really is NOW is NOT for public consumtion.

I would say they did something to the place, maybe refurbished it into some kind of top secret facility, hence the blurring. This much is clear.

Hell, the U.S and Russia probably even have deals between themselves not to reveal certain coordinates in their respective countries to the public. "I won´t show them what you got if you promise to not show what we got, deal?"

But the guys with a need-to-know certainly knows, they have access to the satellites remember?

Simple as that.

Why don't you rage some more? It wasn't off topic because 2 posters both cryptically said "Oh hey get on the "Darkweb" and you'll find your answer. Then a couple of us said hey - if you have the info from the "Darkweb" post it up here so we can see it and discuss it. It wasn't beezer either, it was Wrabbit2000, FYI.

Admitedly, a couple posts about the Darkweb were offtopic, but that ended an entire page ago - so your a little late to the ball game there, champ.

Now, on topic -

I find it curious that Roman Abramovich has shown an immense interest in the area, even paying out of pocket to have it modernized and developed. Why would such a man do this? He is either -

A.) A benevolent benifactor who really cares about people (unlikely).
B.) Is a shrewd investor and has discovered some sort of potentially lucrative minerals or metals in the area. This is more likely to me because with his amount of wealth he could easy PAY Google / Bing / Satellite providers to cover up the roughly 5 mile area of land.

I'm voting for option B.
