Maybe a better way of saying it would be " I wonder if the people of Rome sounded the same?" They would have been right in the front row as the Roman Empire crumbled.

I agree with you that obviously today we have a Global Media society, global economics, global politics, multinational corp and banks. The markets crash in Europe, Wallstreet is affected. A very different world than Roman times.

But, I think the normal Roman citizen could see the cracks appearing, and what could they do other than just survive? Move on, rebuild, make do.

That is the important thing, I think. If the SHTF, get a new fan. We Americans just have to be prepared. We have to. I don't know what is coming, but I feel it won't be good. We just have to make it to the other side at all cost.

I agree with what you are saying I just wanted to emphasize the differences. I have pondered the same things and feel that it offers hope seeing how people survived much worse conditions. That said the people of today are a manufactured culture that is being stripped of basic survival skills and common sense very much like the decadent citizens of Rome and if that is any indicator then perhaps the mad max dark ages are around the corner

Frankly, this is NOT a partisan issue. Government is overstepping its bounds on both sides of the aisle and none of the current idiots are fixing anything. The OP is dead on and it is time we take our government back and give power back to the states. No rational person could think that things are working correctly right now or believe the career politicians in Washington are able to fix the problems they created.

This is the second such post I have read thus far and have yet to get half way down the first page of this thread.

It is unbelievable the level of ignorance embodied by so many Americans. It is a set of blinders you where subconsciously as well as consciously that don't allow you to see what is right in front of you.

I read the whole post from the OP and I didn't once get the impression this was about republican/democrat. But then again I`m not like you. I`m probably more like the op. I don`t like Obama so I must be a republican right. Or maybe it's because he's black so I must be a racist. No funny thing is that none of that is true. I don' hate anyone due to skin color or geographical location of birth so I'm certainly not a racist and as far as being a republican or democrat I choose neither. I think both are the problem because there is too much corruption in both parties. There is an out of control for power government in Washington and enough is enough.

This is not about choosing red or blue it's more about being American and understanding what that means.



It`s so hard to calm myself right now and stick to the matter at hand as it is this type of mentality that is going to spin me off on a hundred tangents as you and countless others have no idea what you are even talking about. You see anti Obama something and automatically like a drone go into attack the republican mode. It's a lot like how on ATS so many people are quick to attack anyone speaking about Christian religion, like drones not even calculating all the information with their brain, just automatic response as soon as a vague criteria is met.

We all need some real history lessons, you wouldn't and obviously just don't understand how screwed you already are and don't even know it being led to believe everything you know . People need to have some discoveries in their lives and figure out things on their own. I spent 10 years as a side job testing the effects of opposite news stations on the human psyche. I don't mean a literal job as an employee, I am just stating some facts that I have learned through experience and I am unafraid to say that there is always an agenda with everything and it involves politics, corporate interests, media, etc. After seeing, feeling and understanding the effects of how a particular channel can influence your entire life I understand now even more of how it's a sham.

People need to stop being drones and having these ridiculous knee jerk reactions and take the time to think about things without prejudice. When you say you are a republican or a democrat it's almost as if to say you have no brain at all and you will just pick the color you like and let those kind crooks make all the decisions for you and you will always where their colors like a your favorite team jersey. You approach everything with prejudice because if it's anti your color then it must be the other team that you want to beat and prove is wrong.

Too much bullcrapola going on in America coming down from the federal level and the people have had enough. It's what millions are tuning into and talking about on a.m. radio station shows like Ground Zero. It's all over websites like this and countless others. It's all over the comments on cnn and other news website page articles etc.before they are removed. More people are dissatisfied about what is going on then are satisfied. This latest gun control push is that final straw for most people. More then half of all legal aged Americans own guns. But "they" are coming for the guns now and it is all part of an agenda.

The more the people keep arguing over such mundane topics such as republican vs. democrat the divided stance will be ours and our will will be theirs. People need to snap the hell out of it and don't be fooled by the infamous sayings to say I must be crazy and None of the bad stuff I'm implying is actually going on. I think we need to get past the bs and see what is really happening. So many people like the people of the states in the op are taking stands. We need not be divided, we don' want to be like Argentina and what happened there or Liberia but you'll have to look those up, I'm out.

The problem though is that traditional methods of opposition are not working. We have a culture that is being conditioned to be led. People are not proactive about finding solutions they are waiting for one to be found for them. That is the tension that is being felt. Everyone knows something stinks but everyone is waiting for someone else to fix it.

I wish the knowledge driven revolution site was still up. Some really great articles and quotes from Bertrand Russell describing even back in the 20s and 30s the drive to create a managed society. They create an "expert" society. A society run not by the people but by specialist. The average out of touch person is waiting on the experts to tell them what to do.

I do not understand why Americans dont accept the fact that they need to go back and fix the past before they can plan for the future. There was a coup de tat in America when JFK was murdered and no one has ever done anything about it. The entire world is scared of the American government because no one knows who they really are.

The only way you will see legal legitimate governmental change in a country as large and globally influential as the United States is if it comes from within, this means that if one single American walks into a courtroom and begins the legal processes needed to readdress the JFK coldcase and the rest of America rallys around this movment with all of their hearts and might, you see this is an ugly situation and it all revolves around that coup de tat and the men who orchestrated and pulled it off. Only America and God know how deep the deciet runs, seing as God is always busy I guess this leaves it up to Americans to solve their own problem from within. Fighting the current government isnt the battle you need to fight, the current administration is only recognised based on a coup de tat history, therefore if you go back and right history you right America and if you dont go back and do that then you have no true America. You dont have to fight your current government you need to offer them the chance to partake in the national Identity cleansing, and if they refuse to help you find 100% of the truth with 100% of their energies then you disenfranchise them by proxy, one way or another you will get America back if you find and punish and write into history these traitors to America. Find Kennedys murderers and protect not one and you will restore America to her rightful place in history.

What you are noticing is the influx of people who only came here probably from linked articles on FB and other sources because of the elections. They have brought their controlled paradigm with them. They sat back complacently while their rights were taken by their own "team" and now that the other "team" has the ball they want to bitch and moan instead of understanding the game is rigged and both teams get their orders from the same person.

Before someone calls me a liberal/Obama supporter I broke away from the 2 party paradigm years ago and am not affiliated with any parties or political ideology other than pragmatism. People I worked with thought I was crazy and unpatriotic for not supporting Bush but were all too happy to become armchair pundits once Obama took office and were none to happy when I laid the blame at their feet. It was sad to watch relatives and friends trying to pin all their hopes on Romney as if that would have made a difference and they will line up and do it again next time around.

Both parties have people drinking the Koo-Aid and it wont change til people wake up and realize that democrat or republican it makes no difference in the food line.

I could not agree more. Those rungs in the ladder to enlightenment are missing and while we have a good idea as to who was involved, it has to be totally ferreted out and made public knowledge from within. If everyone demanded the truth on this, it would certainly happen.

You act like their was actually freedom in the late 1700s and early 1800s. We had slaves! Those people weren't free. We didn't need regulations on corporations because they didn't exist! There were like a million people total in the entirety of the US. These are different times. Trying to go back to a time and place that never existed save in your minds isn't where this country is going.

It essentially circumvents our freedoms given to us by our constitution and allows the government to throw us in jail without due process. Courts and the justice system we now have were appointed in America so that every citizen could have due process to be innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. Now, our government can circumvent that process. Do you honestly feel free anymore?
Having healthcare for everyone... where do you think the money is going to come from? Do you understand how our monetary system works? Its a flawed system. If our government prints more money and puts us farther into debt by giving us all free healthcare, then the price of healthcare is going to go up! Our monetary system is going to collapse eventually. I really feel like Obama knows this already, and he wants this country to fall on its A**!

Federal Money.

The states get a huge amount of federal money to pay for anything from public work projects to extra police. Add to this the absolute enormous costs of developing their own Government to deal with everything from defese to energy.

In any case, I'm thinking that if local Sheriffs in many counties tell Obama to back off, things are going to get hot.

Was just thinking as I browsed some posts and the thought occured to me, could you imagine the amount of propaganda that would flood the internet and television if there was another revolutionary war? I mean back in 1770 printing was still sort of new, I mean you had to go to a special shop that had a printing press, just to make some decent propoganda, and it took time, effort and alot of money, connections, and some sort of power, and it still had a major impact on the revolution. But nowdays anyone heck any 10 year old with an internet connection and the ability to type or speak coherenty can push their opinion on the world.

I think the whole idea of a new Revolution looking anything like the last one, or haveing the same outcome as the last is a dream.

I mean Anarchy won't work right?, So we need a leader, or leaders. We fought the revolution cause we didn't wan't a "leader", we wanted to elect our own "leaders". But really when you think about it. There's only 2 paths. To be lead, or not to be. Sure there's different types of ways you can be "lead", but in the end it's the same thing. Ultimate power can corrupt 1,000 men just the same as it does 1 man.

Sure you can have a nice 50-100 years before the system is once again finally totally corrupt and controlled and all the leaders have spoiled and forgotten their values, at this point it may as well be a monarchy. So what, we need to reboot the government every 100 or 200 years? There's got to be a better way.

Granted what you say about sheriffs should be true in theory however does anyone recall all the flack that came when sheriffs talked about enforcing immigration legislature? Besides what group of Sheriffs and their deputies could actually stand up to the Feds if there were a conflict? Hell the Branch Davidian's had more firepower than most sheriffs and we remember how that ended.

This is my opinion but I don't think they are going to attempt to confiscate anyone's guns anymore than they already do. They want a bunch of armed angry people because when people do start to push back that will be the excuse for bringing in foreign troops and sweeping legal changes without scrutiny.

Govt run healthcare is a joke. I work for a veterans hospital and I can tell you that obamacare is going to be a huge let-down for you and the rest of the liberal leeches. It will bankrupt the middle class and most people wont even get to benefit from it.

First they make you wait hours to be seen by a doctor (4hr average wait time) and when you finally do get to see a doctor you see him for like 5 minutes and he just tells you that you're fine. Then they hand out pain-killers like candy until you get addicted then they cut you off and call the police to come arrest you when you ask for more. Maybe, if there is a bed availible, you will get admitted which is where the fun starts. They will put you in a room with 3 or 4 other people and then the nurses will ignore you for hours. You might get lucky and a resident (Doc in training) will come and check on you but it doesnt matter because he barely speaks english and wont be able (or willing) to help you anyway. This is how they treat veterans, people who sacrificed very much for their govt, how do you think they will treat the average joe or some homeless person?

Also, you say "Women will be able to choose to have an abortion" guess what? They can choose to kill their un-born children now, thats nothing new.

And "We're going to try to keep the environment clean" this also is not a new concept. The govt has been using EPA muscle for decades to shut down corporations that pollute.

You talk about babies that are not getting their way but to me it sounds like the other way around. Liberals are like the fat kid at the candy store, they just want more, more, more.

Nope, nothing at all as you are insinuating!

Obama zombies tend to see anything that isn't pro-Obama as a direct attack on him.

It really takes some insane legislation (federalist type stuff) to get the states to rebel (which is good) but it also says a lot about this administration and the direction its going in.

I think I have to agree with the op on what he has said all politicians are not doing their jobs and when one or two actually do what people want they are ostracized from their party.

I have seen many Obama supporters on here bash bush and praise Obama even when Obama basically does the exact same things bush did. Instead of facing this fact Obama supporters go through some kind of Milgram Experiment where they deem them self's authority figures giving electrical shocks to people who don't give the answers they want, all so they can fit into the crowd.I wonder if a lot of Obama supporters go around with wristbands say WWBMD or "what would Bill Maher do? The same can be said for republicans and that is inherently the problem in this mess there are too many people who willingly ignore their parties actions just so they can say they won!
